So I'm fairly well equipped now, and zombies don't really scare me any more. I can sneak around them fairly well, and if i do manage to aggro them I'll simply run into buildings and pop them once in the head with my AK. I have a canteen that i can refill as needed, a hatchet, matches and a hunting knife so food isnt a problem any more. So what else is there to do now, PVP? If i want to PVP, i'll play a vanilla ARMA2 map. Are we going to get missions and things zombie specific to do, such as "rescue the farmers daughter" or things like that? Because right now, once you are past the very hard noob stage and get decent gear, the mod looses its excitement.

Ok, so maybe 'quests' is not a good term, but events that happen within the game that will give people who have the essentials down something to do. As a quick example, how about a 'boss' zombie spawns in electro, drawing massive hoard of zombies towards him and rampage through wilderness? Killing him gives unique items?

I guess but thats not exactly a thrill. Once you get past the initial hardness of the game the difficulty falls off dramatically. Zombies, once a major source of fear, now become an irritant. I know its alpha and a lot of features are not implemented, but I may take a 3-4 month vacation from the mod while more stuff is built in. I dont want to play it to death and get bored of it and miss when all the cool stuff comes out.

you are probably better off getting into the habit of putting a tent on the game map instead of off, because you never know if they are going to set up something that wipes clear all objects off the map. -

yeah, basicly unless you have a GPS you will need to figure out where you are in the game, then find a secure place to pitch your tent. -
yeah, thats annoying, isnt it. They need to implement a 'drink from well/pond' option. And why can't i use empty soda cans i find all over the place to hold water?

I was in a castle last night, having ifnally got some decent gear. I'm on my way down the central keep's staircase when somehow i fell off from about the halfway point to the next level, a total height of about maybe 3-4 feet. However as a result of this my leg broke. Highly aggrivating as i didnt have anything to heal me. Grr. Can the height from which we break a leg be increased a bit, to maybe 15-20 feet? -

You need to find a morphine injector. Depending if you have a lot of stuff or not it may be better for you to just start a new char than crawl around for ages looking for one.

I too have noticed that in residential buildings and farms the majority of the stuff i find is either trash loot, or chemlights/flares. Its very hard to find drink and food, let alone medicine. Bandages are not terrible to find, so thats something.

Being that I was in the middle of nowhere and it would take me ages to get to town, i just opted to respawn a new character. Annoying too as i finaly got a rifle and some decent gear. *grump* -
The temp outside is 42c or always 110 degrees? Jesus christ, where the hell are we? Russia or the middle of the Sahara?

Yeah, its annoying, but isnt the next patch going to fix this a lot? looking at the patch notes I hope so. Also zeds spawning in buildings stinks when you are unarmed and trying to find basic supplies. -
So we are supposed to be fishermen who wash up on shore with only the most bare of equipment, right? They took away our guns upon spawn, reducing the bean wars and making life much harder. Now we are utterly defenseless. So why not let us spawn with a melee weapon? I dont know if hunting knives are melee yet (have not tried latest patch) but giving us one of those might be a good idea. Most fishermen usually keep a knife on them for cutting nets and whatnot. Will allow us to kill zeds if they get too close before we find a firearm, but not make it so there are noobwars at the spawnpoints. Thoughts?

Yes, and I welcome the difficulty. However making it TOO hard will scare away new players. A gun made it too easy for people to run rampant at spawn. A knife or other melee item would at least give us that much more of a fighting chance. I'm likely to pop a few zeds in the head if they get too close, i would only start swinging at a zed with a knife only if i had no other choice. -
Nay. While cool, this would draw too much ire from concerned parenting groups, and we don't need the moral majority bothering us.
