holy mother of chernarus..this is going to be a long year for Dayz... ill be rooting you on every step of the way! GO DAYZ!!!

I have no fear of cannibalism as of now. Currently the meta for dayz is loot run 0 person servers and hop on full servers then run to berenzinho to deathmatch.as long as your are not on the coast cities the odds of you actually getting eaten by a player is so slim it's unreal. The sniper zombies right now are more of a concern than people are.

progress huh? well, after being off the standalone for three months and countless hours of dayz overwatch played; i came back to the standalone to check out if it got any better.. well after 3 gig of update of stuff that seemed cool i finally get in a server and spawn in. the last time i logged was in a town and that means my fps plummeted to dust and disappeared . so i was like "okay this has been this way since the begging" so i trug on... i was then chased by the sniper zombies that can see you from 10000000 miles away.. the desync wouldn't let me pull out my axe and the zombies beat the crap out of me till i could barely get away. After bandaging i went to loot a town for food to heal with... well, desync and just about every other aspect was against me and a player walked around the corner with his gun drawn.... i couldn't pull out my gun because of the desync (which happens on every server) and in about two seconds it said i was dead and there were no shots fired.. so.... progress is slow but im hoping it gets done... till then im going back to the mod and just about any other game to keep me away from the standalone as of now.

this is not a rant post or a why this game sucks post or any other type of post that can appear negative or unhelpful. this is a general discussion of one thing.. the future mods of dayz SA. lets face it.. maybe in a year or so.. modding will be able to be utilized.. and i can tell you right now that epoch, orgins, and all those mods are already in the working for dayz SA. this "vanilla dayz" we have now in my opinion will come to an abrupt end once these mods come to surface. now, i know there are those who dont want all that frou frou stuff in thier game.. they just want the barebones and immersion that comes with it... but you know once all the youtubers play the mods.. people will switch and so on to private hives and servers with all those fancy gadgets... later there will be servers where you pay to get starting gear and pay for admin rights.. and well if you want that.. by all means go get it... so to sum this up.. will mods, when they hit dayz SA, change what we know about it, like the dayz mod. (even though you cant comparte them, just an example of what mods due to a game) again, this is not a rant just wondering what "our" future gaming experince will become from other view points. :)

kinda reminds me of the mod, how youd walk into a building a guns and ammo are just sprawled out all over the floor.

thanks guys for commenting, I guess the general census is that people are either "yeah it was good" or "it was wrong to leave them" which is what makes is kinda neat to find out how people play in this game :).

so to start, i met with these guys at stary and we got along pretty well. i had full m4 and all that jazz unlike them who had just some beans to go around and maybe a aphibia or two. in short, we were headed to the northeast airfeild and a group of 6 all in a clan show up, most of them sporting mosins. i know from experience that if used properly mosin will beat m4 hands down, so i said we should not engage and just move away, however they wanted to confront them and try to rid of them, well at first it sounded alright but when we engaged they quiclky saw us and shot back. well, me being the most heavily geared they looked to me to do the job, and i froze up. they closed in and i left them and bolted like no other.. im pretty sure they died or were held up.. im not sure but i lived... but i feel guilt for leaving those guys behind. so what would you have done in that situation?

well, really its the cr but I don't see why its not a CZ because that's what it looks like, but hey "RP is good right?"

today I learned what lies beneath the dayz player. today after hours of mindless playing, I decided to actually RP for once and try it out. I had to think of some way that I could enroll myself into the game without being something stupid.... then I stumbles upon the UN helmet at the airfield and in that moment I knew what had to be done... so I walked around the server dressed in winter pants, a tactical shirt with the helmet.. only carrying a couple Mags for my m4 and a couple Mags for the CZ... as I walked up to that town in the north east airfield I met this guy and his friend.. I told them who I was and what I was trying to do (which was find out how the infection in threating peoples lives in chernarus. now most people would be like " lol gg newb why you acting fo" but this guy actually rp'd back. ive never seen anyone do that intentionally, but the thing that made it up was that on the spot he made lore for himself (he was on the look for his wife he had lost) and he made lore for his friend (that he got his ear shot off and that he was also a little deaf but was in pursuit of the guys wide too)) and after that I went on to meet other people who made their own lores and so on and then I knew deep down inside.. in the heart of the dayz player.. there is a deep character inside.. waiting to get out... all you have to do is not shoot them in the face when you see them XD

well from that video I can understand that its probably going to get tweaked so it doesn't seem so op.. but if it keeps it basic function like that my m4 will see its self out the door. besides id probably take it due to the fact that im getting tired of holding an m4 anyway.

shemagh and most of the outfits from the mod really. guns however I would go with the : rifles: Mini 14, FN FAL, DMR, Winchester. pistols: Makarov and g17 and ofcourse throw in a variety of melee weapons as well :)
