All valid points, however, I am led to believe that in the mod there was a large horde of zeds there. Hence the idea to name it after Green Mountain. It also does not matter if it is true or not, it can be a total red herring. What ever it was it should have a name, don't you think? That's how people are, totally irrational, we name stuff after the totally wrong things all the time. Think Greenland, Iceland, the Americas named after an Italian, the Sandwich Islands, Rhodesia, the list is endless. Captain Tripps, of all things, was the name of the super flu in The Stand, by Stephen King, had nothing to do with the disease itself.

I am sorry this happened to you but I don't understand how it could have. Almost all the towns and villages in the west have a well, in the extreme sw corner of the map there is a gas station/grocery store that almost always has a few bottles of water. Almost every draw has a stream. If you eat any canned foods, especially peaches, you get water also.

What you don't get is that I never said any of those things, you did. I don't even play on my server, I am on experimental most of the time, I provide a HC server for those who want to play on a night server. I pay for it out of my own pocket, I have no clan supporting me, I don't ask for donations. You don't like that, then please don't come on it. This isn't a democratic server, you don't get a vote. Maybe I should just go ahead and shut it down since you seem to think you can tell me how to manage my server. -

You wanted an answer from the no people, I gave you one. Now, I figure to keep you and hoppers like you off my server, if I ever get the restart warning option, I'll just ignore it. It's mostly for server hoppers who look at all servers as their own personal welfare checks anyway. You have a watch? Use it. I don't randomly restart my server unless it is for a very special, pre-arranged reason such as a group that wants a meet up. Figure out what servers start when and use them, if the server restarts randomly, then go away, you can report the owner to the host if you want, that is your option. Don't steal my options just because you can't tell time. -

Night time is improved, it looks great atm, also, as an owner of a Gameserver DayZ server the only options I have is what time it restarts, I can't change the length, it is set at four hours, for now anyway. In Experimental servers are set for 10 hour restarts, which I will gladly do when that becomes an option. Over this weekend past the experimental servers didn't reset until Monday morning, over 48 hours. You should have seen the wailing and gnashing of teeth this caused. There was much sack cloth wearing. People weren't getting the Super Military Surplus Store they were used to and got positively apoplectic. -

The problem with this is that right now, if you own a Gameserver Dayz server you don't have this option. It just cannot be done. Is it too much to ask the players to keep track of time? It's bad enough we have the servers restart after only four hours. It makes us Costco style super military surplus stores for hoppers as it is already. You don't like it then only play on servers that have the warning. Who are you to set policy for the rest of us? -

I try to get at least one, preferably two terrain features away from my last engagement before logging. That does not mean a building or a block, I consider the entire town to be a terrain feature. I keep my head on a swivel and do a "Crazy Ivan" from time to time (caught more than a few following me that way).

What storage will do is carry over from server reset, just like you do now with all your gear. The difference is that you won't have to have the gear on you and you can come back to it later. I am not sure if it will carry over from one server to another. I should hope not but I don't know if the devs have worked that all out yet. In other words, you will be able cache gear, weapons, ammo, food, etc. against being killed or robbed.

Just today I was attacked by a vicious little hopper up there. He got me bleeding and wacked me a few more times, I tried hitting with my axe a few times and kept missing, then I get the LMB bug, so I drew my pistol and could not shoot since the LMB bug prevents that too, I had no choice, I ran to the ladder and went up the tower to bandage. He had done no damage at all to any of my gear, none, just made me bleed. I have not been afflicted with this bug since I uninstalled and reinstalled the game on Friday last week. So you tell me.

If I see you first, I won't shoot you, I will AVOID you at all cost. I don't need to warn you. Too often I have ganked from both behind and in front. I have almost 900 hours in game and can count on the fingers of one hand, excluding my thumb , how many friendly encounters I've had and still have fingers left over. All the other encounters I have had have been in the negative, so many that between us we don't have enough fingers and toes and teeth to count them. I am not taking the chance any more. You don't like that? Too Frigging Bad for you. -

yeah, sounds loke they are just using their clan server to farm loot. I would not be surprized at all to find they descend like locusts on other servers just to hassle Bambis. Makes me wish we could take an axe to weapons and ruin them when we find them. -

Headphones? How realistic is that and would it interfere with your ability to hear, would it attract zeds? If it does not then no way should this be added in. I've had people bitch at me in a library saying my ipod mini was too loud. -
Yeah, I was gonna the sawed off has the same range as an excuse---zero meters, but you covered it pretty well. I had that damn thing fail on me too, pointed at my targets chest and "click" followed by the roar of his SKS in my face. The P8 did this to me too.
