My experience also and exactly what I do. I always have a pistol drawn and at the ready when in a danger area and I NEVER anticipate a "friendly" encounter at any military installation anywhere on the map. I also never run in a tent city, that way I don't need to take a fraction of a second to bring the weapon up, it is up.. If I can avoid you, I will, I will do my best to evade and not let you see me unless I feel you are not a threat, which happens about as often as Noah builds an ark. And for all you hippie type tree huggers, you can thank all the other players that have killed me from behind and without a word for my current behavior. I am a product of my DayZ experiences.

You can do this by driving cattle or pigs in front of you into a town or village, the zeds will follow what ever is moving and closest to them. It takes some practice to get them (the animals that is) to go where you want so make sure you do that before you try it live. Be careful too, because if an animal comes back around near you some zeds will break off and attack you. If you have a streak of The Governor in you, then you can use that to your advantage against other players too. Zeds are not as stupid as before either, remember when you could get them to run off docks and have them fall into the water? They won't do that anymore, they will follow the edge, which is amazing since they should operate LOS, their brains are supposed to be impaired.

With the game as it is now, pretty much the most fun you can have is gearing up, after that, there isn't much to do other than survive. So relax and enjoy the hunt. You'll get better with time and the more you play the more you will get the hang of it. And what he said. There is a very steep learning curve here in DayZ.

Dangerous though, I had a dead zed slide into me and push me out of the second story window of a fire house tower. Damn zed killed me after he was dead. That just plain sucked ass.

No I would not, zeds can be used now. You can use the wild life to distract them and pretty much start a zed stampede by driving cattle or pigs in front of you to clear a small area of a town. It's actually something I have been experimenting with, it works quite well and is pretty funny to watch. After a while the zeds will wander back to where they came from, so you can clear and loot, then get the hell out, while by the time the next guy shows up, if this is timed right he'll be in a holy shit storm of zeds. edit; I just realized how much that sounds like something the Governor would do. jeez, and I hated that guy.

I logged into one server today, inside a building and was greeted by a zed that proceeded to beat the crap outta me, he ruined my shirt and pants before I could even move to kill him. Once I did kill him a message flashed on my screen that said "watch out for that zombie", I went to grab my rags since I was bleeding and got "authentication timed out" message. Is this some kind of admin hack thing? I could never do anything like that on my old server, wtf? Luckily I was able to log into another server and get right, as I was going out that door a hopper attacked me, broke my legs and ruined another pair of pants, Christ in a side car. I killed him, bandaged up but my morphine was ruined. Jeez, what a day.

Like the man said, these things are all over the map, more prolific than feeding stations. Try junk yards too, I found mine in a pick up truck.

There is no "pile of loot", I wish there was a pile of loot, it all goes away unfortunately. I have made my way back to my body several times and it has all been gone, I even watched it disappear while I was fighting the zed that killed me, believe me there was no pile of loot. And that was in less than 10 min.

Well, if you are gonna have one of these things you should have some mechanical ability. Doesn't amtter much if there are zeds around or not, if one of these breaks on you you would usually be some place that is miles and miles away from the nearest garage. Tracked vehicle crews are usually proficient at this kind of thing just for that reason.

They don't usually snap, but they can miss the guides and fall off, then you have to guide it back in place. If they do snap then you replace the broken link with a new one or let off some pressure and remove the broken one, relink the affected track, tighten her back up and off you go. Too easy.

You can have that stuff in Fallen Earth.

I imagine he was camping it while waiting for his server hopping buddies to show up and rape another server. It's nice that you have a psoitive outlook about it though.

So, I am in Sevro on an experimental server when right in front of me a character appears out of nowhere and says hello. There was no delay, he just winked in and says hello, then his buddy hits me from the right with a pitch fork and insta kills me, one hit, boom, you are dead. Was this the teleport thing?
