Oh, I find SMG's (MP5's in police stations or on/in police cars and the Polish SMG at the MI8 Heli crash sites) or the magazines for them but rarely both at the same time. I had both on experimental twice, I was going to test them the next day but both times I had them experimental was wiped the next day. Lately, when I have found an MP5 it has not had a butt stock attached, which is strange. As far as the Blaze goes, I'd carry it till I find something better, unless I already have a sawed off shotgun.

The M91 is just a spike with the only sharp edge being the pointy end, so that one is definitely out for skinning, very 18th century. I could have sworn that I skinned a cow with an SKS bayonet, that was awhile ago though so that may have changed. It is just as knife like as the kitchen knife. What is this chicken? I have yet to see a chicken in game. I am beginning to think chickens are a myth.

Well done devs. No, really, I mean it...

Oh, boy here it comes, now the haters are gonna crawl out of the gutter to gleefully point out to that you are, so obviously and completely, playing the game all wrong if a zed makes you bleed or ruins your shirt, let alone actually kills you. But I know you can handle it! -
Yep, clock tower is a dead giveaway I do all the time, I think of it as a miniquest, like finding a can-opener, something to do other than KoSing the first person I see (I prefer to avoid/evade since it is more of a challenge than shooting someone outright) . When I have the right maps then I combine them and throw the left overs away, occasionally I'll even leave a combined, complete Cherno + map laying around in a high traffic area. I like chem lights, flares and gas lamps, it's fun to pop them in place and then take off. I know when I come across popped lights and flares I become super paranoid and extremely cautious very quickly. I have been known to take the gas lamps and canisters and light up a good part of a city or the light houses along the coast, I like the pretty lights.

Dammit, wasted a tent that took me about 5 minutes to actually find when I started looking. Now I won't find another for about 30 days.
-
oh, yeah not willing to do that
-
As far as I know only the official ones, but it is still causing issues. I was on a 1st person that didn't say either way, placed a tent and it was gone the next day when I logged in. Pretty sure it was not stolen, it was way off the beaten track and pretty hard to see.

Either way, I am gonna chuck the Mosin accessories and ammo into the next pond I find.

How are we supposed to play the game right now?

Ok my friend, this has happened to me a bunch of times but you get used to it. First thing you need to find however is a farmers hoe, it is an extremely reliable 2 hit weapon for melee on zeds. I know most haters will scream you MUST melee with an axe or you are DOING IT ALL WRONG but I have had a hella time with those since about 2 or 3 builds ago, I do carry one but mostly just to open cans (until I complete "Quest for Can Opener") and to get sticks and fire wood. Then go find food, water and clothing. If you spawn in Cherno or Electro like that again get the hell outta dodge as quick as you can, lots of people spawn there nowadays so it will be a death zone for bambi's for some time to come. Don't sweat zeds that go in the water, it slows them down significantly and you can swim way faster than they can walk underwater. If you don't know already hold shift+w to swim faster. I like the spawn site at choke point cliffs between Electro and Cherno, there are some low yield buildings there that have some decent stuff if they haven't already been looted and a well, not all that far away, by the light house, is a car that usually has some stuff and one of the concrete floored tool sheds that sometimes have some nice stuff too. Be careful though, I got chased by a maniac there screaming he want to kill me for my stuff and that I should stop running. This is speaking truth to power right there. I never really knew people meant by that but now I do. -
It was low pop, I think there were 10 people max on the server, but, he may have stalked me from the airfield since I had just come from there. I was in a fairly low area away from and NW of Balota Village by about 300 meters. I do remember on the way there checking my six and thinking I saw something a little east of the barn just outside town but I believe he may have gone prone in some tall grass when I did my "crazy Ivan". However, you are right, I did not follow one of my own basic rules of moving at least one major terrain feature away before stopping and doing anything. I'm just glad I wasn't eating.

How to "Play in a lit up city at night"
barnabus replied to NagsterTheGangster's topic in Suggestions
I pretty much will break chem lights and pop flares in place every time I find them at night. I have even been know to carry and drop functional gas lanterns and leave them turned on in buildings just for the hell of it. People may not like that but I could give a hoot less. -
Cool, I took some time typing that up and was afk before I hit post.

If you want to get all technical a zombie isn't any of these things mentioned so far. In Haiti they aren't even dead really, they just appear reanimated and are always under the control of some sorcerer or sorceress. The definition nowadays is just too fluid nowadays to be limited in the manner it has been. Shoots, some zombies even talk. I am fairly sure the little girl in Night of the Living Dead says something to her mother as she is stabbing her and, of course, the ones in Return of the Living Dead all had a limited vocabulary. Here is a nice reference from the zed master himself!!

I'd still carry a canteen and if you are going to do this then you should get into the habit of using the water purification tablets now. I know they don't do anything yet but in the future this is going to be an imperative. May as well get used to it so when the time comes you'll already have a leg up. Good luck!

All 1st person/hardcore servers are non persistant

Perv! There's a wrecked version trackside and behind the snack stands at the railroad station in Sevrograd. It was even spawning stuff on the bumpers and in the back before the last patch. I am calling the old man zed "wicked Uncle Ernie" after the pedophile in the Rock Opera "Tommy".

For the record if you look inside the MICH at the data label most are made in France.

I would not be surprised if this isn't/wasn't the case in the former Soviet Union too, especially given who is in charge over there. Look at the Polyarny Sub base sitting there with all it rotting subs, it's still open. I am sure them Russkies still have plenty of redundant systems and bases still open for the same reasons. Lots of bases in the US have been closed in many states, Brunswick NAS, Barbers Point NAS, Ewa MCAS, Loring AFB, Pease AFB, Griffiss AFB, the list goes on and on and on, while some have been expanded in others, Canon AFB in New Mexico comes to mind with the relatively recent addition of more Air Force Special Operations units there. There's a long list of closed facilities. Remember the furor over Walter Reed some years ago? It was slated for closure in 2011 by BRAC while still treating patients it became a spotlight because the facility was falling apart. Even though it was slated for closure, some folks still thought the Army should spend money on it until the day it closed. That was just throwing the baby out with the bath water. But it was political fodder for the lefties to bash Bush with even though the closure had been approved by congress, Bush had not a damn thing to do with it. I wonder if Putin has to put up that kind of crap.

I am a little bummed about where the tent city was moved to. That was one of my favorite hide sites, off the beaten track, close, but not too close to several military locations and just a nice location. Now I'll have to switch to one of my other choices, which is getting hard to do. I had one up north but now there is a village much too close for comfort. C'est la Vie. I guess.
-
I had an experience with a Bambi who approached me and tried to talk, I was just trying to evade and did not feel like talking, I was looking for a tent so I didn't want any company. He was persistent to the point that I had no choice but to shoot him, he kept invading my personal space, which in this game is about five meters.
-
I'd still like to see a Naval Sub Base someplace. One that has the heavy duty concrete sub pens crawling with zeds.
-
SHUSH YOU, people always miss that one off by it self, the one that has no fence or wall across the road from the perimeter fence.
-
Can I ask you guys to fill up all four instances and play? :)

Done. I am there. -
Honolulu, the island of Oahu is just about 10 times bigger than Cherno and we have crap loads more military than Cherno ever had or will have. Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam Ft Shafter, Schofield Barracks and Wheeler Army Airfield Marine Corps Base Hawaii (Camp Smith and Kaneohe MCAS) Hawaii Army National Guard at Diamond Head and out at the old Barbers Point Naval Air Sataion US Army Reserves 100th Battalion, 442nd RCT at Ft Shafter Flats (the only infantry battlaion left in the Army Reserve) A few more come to mind, such as Norfolk, Virgina, Washington DC, San Diego, CA, Tacoma, Seattle and Everett, Washington to name a few.
