okay here is the deal: Ruined stuff got thrown away, i don't like it. there should be a new tooltip "recycle". With it, you go ahead and transform the stuff in "parts". It matters, what category it is: "military parts", "medical parts", "industrial parts", "civil parts", ... The parts are 1x1, and can be stacked up to 9 or so, 3 parts can convert into one medium part, 1x2, and maybe a large part 2x2, containing 8 parts, also stackable to 9. With these parts you can duplicate stuff you allready have, imagine you had a destroyed round box and some ruined muni and magazines, now you recycle it in parts and drag them on an existing magazine for your weapon. If you have enough parts, they will be deleted and you get another magazine, "damaged" or "badly damaged" or maybe "worn". Of course you can't do it with all stuff like LRS, and you need lots of part, maybe a camping fire to craft it or some tape... But i think that would be cool stuff and make another playing style possible.

Interesting idea, but do you relly think this is necessary and one of the points the team should work for? I think this is a feature that can be added when dayz is out of the beta.

Okay guys, here we go: Since i play DayZ i always think aboutwhat every player thinks when he died. How do i gear up fast? Let's go to the server list and sort the servers with the lowest people on... and what do you read? "Clan Members only" "Join= Kick" "Test Server, reset character" "privat server" and so on. You know it. I mean: yes. If you have a server, i can understand you name it this way, you pay for it. But it is not only frustrating people who think "oh wow there is a nearly empty server lets loot up!" and get kicked right after joining, it is even against the official rules. Let's think about you finally geared up and want now some action? You come on a server, you finally see someone on the airfield, you may show him your weapon clearly and before you can perform any action, you got allready kicked. oh yes, there was something in the title: "pve only" "no kill on sight" "be friendly, no human kill" "only kill zombies" and stuff. what the fuck? Since when a server owner decide how you play? This is not allowed to do so and after several weeks of playing i started to hate these people, but what to do? Well we are on a pretty accurate thing now, we actually do scan at least one day a week for all public servers hosting dayz standalone, in the future this will be automatic and optimized. We decide keywords, always looking for new ones, containing things like "pve", "kos", "only" and stuff. Of curse, when the scan is completed, we manually check every single server, if the name is against the official rules. After that, we have a nice list of about 60 servers that got directly in a mail to all 5 serverhosters. Here we will testing how to detect the server hoster with the ip to do less stress for the support. But it works, no joke. All Servers scanned are in our database with name, previous name and ip and we add some values like "confirmed" "good/bad" "reported" "changed" and stuff. And of the first 120 servers we reported in 2 days, almost the half of them changed their name allready in some acceptfull things. We keep on going and will now look for some other problems: the admins on servers, who kick you without warning and stuff, how to properly report this abuse. If you have feedback or some ideas for us, just go ahead and tell us :)

I am working on a tool now that search for specific phrases in servernames and save it with ip and date in my database. in a webinterface we check then if the hits are correct and filter them. Once per day, a mail with all servers collected and checked by us will sent to all hosters. Let's see if all is working fine :) Goal is to report servers automatically containing phrases like "Join = Kick" and "Public versus Environment only".

Hey guys, wanted to ask how rare this LRS really is. Found one luckily 2 weeks ago, is now on my Mosin. Today i found another one (didn't died yet) and will gift him to a friend. Is it hard or easy to find them? Was just on a routine, not specially searching for them

the last time i checked tents there were nothing in it (server just restarted), or was it just a temporary bug?

You can open a new window while playing, containing stats about how often you killed people, zombies, how often you died (lifetime counter), how often you ate rotten fruit, how often you used handcuffs, and got handcuffed, headshots, time, sick, all that stuff in counters ingame. Now. Give it to us!

So with this new feature you can find a ghetto blaster or a radio. Additionally, you have a subfolder in your DayZ Folder where you can put some MP3 files or similiar stuff. With a Battery or two, you can turn the shit on and switch between the mp3 files with some keys ingame.. of course the quality is not that good, like voice or walkie talkies. But it would be cool for driving when cars are online, when travelling with other persons or solo, or for some fun stuff. I think this would be a nice thing, imagine you go through a town and there is somewhere scary music playing and you don't know what to do, look for it or better go? I think there are many possibilities, not only entertaining but also distraction and deception.

I think there should be more colours of sprays and the possibility to spray everything of clothes and rifles, so you can go like agents or security guys totally black as well as something else you wanna try out.

not that much, zombies and stuff, syncing... that is maybe a problem, but just a second channel? not every player will ran around play his radio, just people for fun or to travel. if you want to kill some people, you will not play your favourite song (ingame)...

studying a body is okay, but the information should not be to obvious, maybe you can "study body" select, and then see the body in a window where you can rotate him and see if he got shot or something.. but it should not be a message, because that is obvious and not very real, maybe now in alpha a solution, but not for beta or release.

No, no. You have the Radio. Your client. so you stream it, just like the voice chat. but you will hear it now to, so the server listen to your client and will stream it to everyone near you, including you. so all got the same. a virtual cable between you and the server that you dont hear, and then streamed by the server to everyone.
