newsflash, that's the point, which attracts people and makes it a war zone on a high pop, a player can get geared with an unlooted airfield, obviously making it fair game whoever makes it there first, however farming it on a low pop where obviously your the only one that's been there yes of course you can get a full kit that's not how it's truly intended of course

moral of the story DO NOT EVER AFK in DayZ ever or tab out for 'a few minutes' dont even remotely expect to come back alive when you are tabbed out and move your mouse it tends to sporadically rotate your character which obviously can attract attention and possibly bug

If you have the axe in your hand in fighting stance and then run it seems as if you run much faster than running with guns/weapons away, it could be an illusion, but many of my friends have also noticed this

the only server that saves your gear is the one labeled, "accelerated time test", the other servers even give you a warning message in chat as you log in

is it hard to IP ban this guy or what? obviously hes the master of creating 70 accounts to ruin this forum every night

the more packed the server is, the more laggy and glitchy it will be, simple as that

if you read the warning message when you log in, all of the experimental servers are not saving your character except for the one that says "accelerated time test"

as of today 4/10 i can see the experimental servers on the list when my client is patched to stable, and then i go to switch it to experimental and load up again, and they are not there at all, ive tried restarting several times, any suggestions?

the only one that has magnification is the ACOG

i was in the balota ATC with my friend, and i had been messing around with the Amphibia testing the noise and such, obviously drawing tons of attention, (first mistake), out of no where , my friend gets sniped by a long range, and my big mistake here was, i waited at the top of the stairs across from the door, waiting for him to get back, i knew it was a bad spot but i figured i would just guard the door for a few minutes, and suddenly i also get sniped, i kinda saw it coming but i had to guard my friends gear somehow, and i was sure i wasnt safe at all upstairs or the 2nd floor, meh, :P

As of today i saw someone streaming on public servers and was looting the military tents at balota and they had loot spawned, someone had said that the loot only spawns there on servers hosted by MultiplayGameServers? can anyone confirm this is true or not?

i have the 195mb download for experimental servers as of this wednesday, and i see various forum posts regarding them, why am i not seeing them on the server list?

yes i know there are hundreds of threads about zombies since the .42 patch, i just have a simple question about them since this past week i know the spawning and such has been altered, which is not a problem for anyone with a brain, but since this past maintenance on the 26th, they spawn endlessly and continuously in main towns without doing anything to aggroe them (shooting and such), let me give you an example, i was at chapaevsk, just running around by self, keep in mind i had not fired a single shot on this server, i see one spawn and start to aggroe on me, and within seconds there are 4 -5 in a pack chasing me, again keep in mind, i had still not done anything at all, just kept running. now i know im going to get the obvious troll responses , but im sure other people notice this too,again, its not really a problem as you can still evade them as always, its just they come insanely fast without noise, which makes me think their spawn mechanic is bugged as of this week, it was not nearly this much of an issue when the patch first hit.

also, to your combat logging comment, that has been fixed, when you log out your character sits there vulnerable for 30 seconds before it actually disappears, it's very easy to tell, the character usually sits and gets back up a few times, in which you have plenty of time to waste the combat logger, next time they log in they will respawn.

first of all, unfair and unexpected gunfights are part of the games design, the open world map and the ability to group up, that's how it's intended, again the fact that you can't trust anyone and always have to watch your back is again part of the game, I think many people who have played a decent amount of all aspects of the game will agree with me that for the stage it's at, in alpha, I think it's going very well. the purpose of alpha is to add the core elements to the game and fix big issues, don't expect to come play a fully developed and thought out game since most of the features are barely a few months old

i was doing my thing,looting the airfield in search of extra supplies for my friend who had just died, when i walked into the last building right next to the ATC, i wasnt paying much attention when i was walking up the stairs, to find a freshie standing there, who seemed to be startled upon my arrival, (this was hardcore) i was double gunning two M4s, (one for my friend) and i wasnt intending on killing you, when you raised your fists a few feet away, at which point i immeditaly thought you were going to try the obvious even though i had a helmet on, i stood there, waiting for you to make a move, i said hello in voice, and you didnt answer, at which point i assumed you were either A, telling a friend to come help, or B , begging to god i dont waste you with the m4 in my hand, i didnt think much before i just thought survival of the fittest, im sorry, you are the first player ive killed, but im sure 3/4 of the players on dayz would of wasted you within seconds of seeing you, also you had nothing but a boonie hat, which made me think "this bambi is gonna try and gear up real quick and could pose a threat to me" so again, either say something when a fully geared guy walks up on you in an airfield and/or expect to be KOS'd by bandits lurking there

yes whine about me rationalizing, i just felt like sharing this rather uninteresting first kill i had.

i went to go log on to my hardcore character today, and picked a low pop server (taking precaution as it is wednesday and im alone lol), and it logged me into my regular character, with all my reg gear, but in 'hardcore' mode, i was 100% sure it was a hardcore server, i double checked and even picked a different hardcore and still, brought me my reg toon, i then tried a regular server, as you would imagine it logged me in fine and brought me to my same regular toon, so is this some sort of hive bug or what? i cant imagine they would make it so you have only 1 toon between both, im just wondering if im the only one

Ah, seems to have fixed itself after i did the 170mb update from today, still a very strange bug, never happened before

yes i already know theres threads about this, and the loot fixes and such, i was just wondering if anyone had an idea of when the servers will be up, hicks wasnt too specific in his posts and i was gearing my experimental toon last night, and was looking foward to finishing him today.

you cannot make your own, however you can buy a server from one of the server hosting sites that dayz uses such as Vilayer, and you can manage it yourself, but there are strict guidelines, it is certainly not like hosting your own minecraft server

yeah i know helmets are supposed to stop that, but i wouldnt trust it at all, not guaranteed if you see a freshie running towards you and your geared, you can pretty much always assume they are trying to do that exact thing, hit you in the head, and steal your gear before you can do anything as far as you dying to it, im sure it glitched or something, ive had some stupid deaths before that seem unreal, which is where the "STFU THIS IS ALPHA" comes in
