Do Zombies Dream Of A Good Nights Sleep? (Zombie feedback)
SilverTrowel replied to SmashT's topic in General Discussion
I made a Z post in the discussion forum when mad one night. My appologies, I should have posted it here. Heres a link http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/190532-zs/ Thnx. -
I am not demanding a nerf to Z damage to our toons. I would like to see damage to gear nerfed A LITTLE. I would like to see Z's glitching through walls fixed before they add anymore content or any stronger Z's, then at least we will have certain tools to deal with the issue. Currently they do not loose aggro if you constantly break line of sight which sucks. You can outrun them eventually but as a Bambi, you need to loot food etc and Z's make it too difficult atm. I don't want an easy game, I want a challenge but DAY Z Alpha atm does not allow us to test all aspects of the game correctly because there are too many glitches, exploits and Z problems. Another thing thats annoying me is the night/day thing. The servers don't seem to sync properly with the in game time because I log in to a server that says 2pm and it's pitch black. Also, resets seem to change servers from day to night (And visa versa) instantly. (Please note; I prefer night time servers, it's more challenging) Also, I was on my clan server which was pitch black for 12 hours through 4 resets the other day, thats dumb. These issues should be fixed and tested before more content we cant test is added. Fck helo's, additional weps, motor bikes etc. Just my opinion. I know its Alpha, but imho we need to fix one thing at a time rather than adding other stuff that needs fixing. (I do log out in safe areas but has no one here ever heard of server resets?????? In these cases you do not get an option where you log, figure it out, it aint rocket science) And yes this should have been in the feedback forum, sorry.

Cheers mate, that clears things up, now I know the problem ........... I'm a noob =)

This is not a Rant, just my observation of the current state of Zombies in stand alone. Wednesday, I log in fully geared and whilst syncing (Couldn't move etc), I get one hit killed by a Z from behind. I was in a tree. Tuesday, I log in fully geared and begin moving from the tree line to an open field. A Z targets me from the field and I equip my fire axe, I move towards it to engage and.... Bang, 1 hit killed from a Z behind me.... Didn't even hear it approach. Wednesday. I'd been playing a hour or so when I moved to a meet up location. I had to log out for dinner so I moved inside a building. When I got back I logged in and bang, before I even see my toon on screen, I hear a Z wacking me and I'm dead (Fully geared. Energised an all that crap) Other observations.... Melee V a Z is pointless. It's not that it's hard to kill them, I actually like that part ..... The problem is they ruin your gear with so little effort. Pristine Vest and all contents ruined in one Z encounter. I would rather Z's were made even harder to kill if that meant damage to gear was nerfed a little. Before you say it, yes I agree gearing up is too easy at the moment but this is ALPHA and we are meant to be testing this game, right now, I spend far too much game time gearing up from Z damage and not enough testing/experiencing other gameplay aspects. I now no longer carry a melee weapon, I shoot all Z's with my M4 regardless of location or situation. What I'd like to see....... Nerf the damage that Z's do to gear. Give us a timer when we log in which gives us GOD mode V Z's for 10 seconds or some shit like that. Nerf the Z one hit kill BS. Fix Z's running through walls before you make them even stronger/faster. Get "Breaking line of sight" to work on Z's so they cant see me in Electro when they targeted me in Cherno. Fix issues in game now before giving us more content to test in a game where we cant fcking test anything. I really don't care about being able to shoot rabbits or fly a heli or ride a fcking bicycle until we get certain game issues sorted. Hope that was constructive, Thnx.

Why is everyone an A$$hole when playing dayz?
SilverTrowel replied to TranquilityEden's topic in General Discussion
We don't all KOS. Infact, for some of us, it's against the rules and much more of a challenge. http://thefirstcav.com/home Enjoy. -
Where are you all when I'm trying to give you stuff god damn it.
SilverTrowel replied to The_Monk's topic in New Player Discussion
There's actually been a few experiments in real life where people have tried to give away stuff (Including money) in the street........... You'd be suprised how many people walk away thinking it's some kind of gimmick/trick. -
Problem with W button (Walk/Jog/Sprint)
SilverTrowel replied to SilverTrowel's topic in General Discussion
I think Ive sorted it. Thnx for all the replies. I know that if u right click the ground you will walk not jog and right clicking again willl return you to jog, but this wasn't the problem. Ive found that double tapping shift solves the issue, thnx. -
Do Zombies Dream Of A Good Nights Sleep? (Zombie feedback)
SilverTrowel replied to SmashT's topic in General Discussion
Firstly, let me congratulate you dev's on a great step in the right direction with Zombies. They now present a stiffer challenge. However, I fell that they aggro a player from too far away, they are after all, undead and should not have the eyes of an eagle. It might be interesting if Zombies spawned with varying degree's of eyesight ..... that would add a new dimension to avoiding them as players would be unsure if they would be spotted by a Z when dashing across a street. On the subject of spawning, I assume theres a timer on Zombies spawning right? For example, Zombie dies, Zombie re-spawns after 15 minutes. It would also be cool (And add to realism) if a Zombie cannot re-spawn when a player is withinn a set distance of the spawn spot but I think thats difficult code to produce and may add to lag etc. I've noticed some people have mentioned Zombies hearing. Well they can't hear for ***t as far as I'm concerned. I can run full pelt up behind them in my size 10 combat boots and wack 'em twice about the head with my axe. I'm hoping that will change. Once the code is right with Z's walking through obstacles ETC, i'd like to see them spawn in buildings too. I'd also like to see them spawn in wandering hoardes from time to time. But that's for the finished game. But for me, the biggest problem with Zombies is line of sight..... It's simply not working. I've tested this several times and spent ages ducking into houses and dodging down alleys with a Z after me in town and no matter how many twists and turns I make, they find the exact spot where I'm hiding. The only way to avoid fighting a Z is to out run it distance wise. They are currently acting far to intelligently with regard to LOS. All in all though, good job! -
Zombies Ruining Gear in one hit!?!?!?
SilverTrowel replied to chysgoda's topic in General Discussion
I dsont know if Z,s ruin my gear in one hit but it's certainly being ruined much quicker. I'm now storing bandages/rags in seperate places because they get ruined very fast in a hoodie. -
More items means more lag............ No Thnx.

Breaking line of sight dones not work V Zombies for me. I run around town, in and out of alleys or houses and then hide in a shed........... They allways find me, I mean find my exact spot. I've tested it a lot. The only way to loose them is outrun them distance wise. Today Ive died twice to zombies. Once when a zombie gave me a broken leg and then two of his pals joined in and kicked me to death whilst I was down and the second time really pee'd me off when I was attacked by 7 zombies and eventually died when I was trying to bandage. That second time, I had scanned the area intently and could not see a single Zombie.......... Then 7 appeared from nowhere. Sometimes, outrunning a Zombie is not an option because we need to loot towns, so we eventually have to fight them. I'm not complaining because I actually enjoy the challenge but the line of sight thing is broke imho.

Problem with W button (Walk/Jog/Sprint)
SilverTrowel replied to SilverTrowel's topic in General Discussion
Many thnx. I'll log in soon and try that. -
I've been playing the standalone for only a few days and I'm very new to the controls. When i double tap the W button, my toon sprints like he's sposed to. But when I hit the W once and hold the button, my toon walks rather than jogs. Is this how its sposed to be or is it a glitch of some kind? How can I set the W button to jog?
