Hello Everyone, My name is Superman, I'm a pilot based out of the northern airfield. I got my nickname during my time as a pilot in the Air Force, but that's neither here nor there at this time. I became a pilot 3 years ago after returning home from the Air Force and struggling to find work. It seems flying planes was all I was good for. I went to bed and everything was normal, but when I woke up yesterday morning things were no longer normal. I rose from my bed at the airfield to find nobody around. The strange part was that all of the planes were gone. Being in the Air Force for many years I learned to trust your gut and mine told me something was horribly wrong. I gathered up my hiking backpack, food, my personal m4 and a 357 magnum and began searching the airfield. I walked into a room and found two men in my buddies room with blood everywhere. I could hear them talking about killing anyone who came to the airfield, which was my home. I peeked into the room and saw the men had masks covering their faces, men don't wear masks unless they are up to no good. I assumed these men were responsible for whatever had happened to my friends and the planes so I did what I felt I had to do. Let me say, I am a very friendly person, but a threat must be eliminated. I unloaded on the one standing at the window and as he fell to the floor I saw the one laying on the floor begin to turn so I switched to my magnum and shot him in the head. I gathered up some ammo and supplies from these poor souls and then noticed something very odd. I saw people running towards me making weird noises and as they got closer I realized these were not normal people. They had rotting flesh hanging from them and there was no life in their eyes. I took them down with my magnum and realized something horrible is happening to my precious home. I hope I am not the only survivor and can find others like myself who are looking to rebuild our home. I feel bad for the two men I shot, for one of them looked as though he was barely 18, but I felt it was them or me in that situation. I sit here now in my room at the airfield debating on putting this 357 magnum in my mouth and pulling the trigger, but I feel there must be someone out there I can help. I hope this letter finds someone else as lost as myself. Sincerely, Superman

Well I wouldn't quit playing the only other game I play because I expect to die a lot there. I guess I should here too. I try to be friendly, I offer food, drink, weapons, etc to help others out. I know not everyone is good, but it just sucked not being able to do anything. I'm over it now though thanks to the bambi crew, wherever they are.

Oh ok, I don't have a scope :( Hell I don't have much right now other than the m4 and a pitch fork. I'm a country boy who came back from deployment to find this zombie mess. Damn Zombies dun got my maw, paw, sister jethrine. My brother Cledus is missing, I hope to find him sometime soon.

Well I've been playing Dayz on and off for a while. I originally got this game for me and my son to play, but he got frustrated quickly and quit. Anyway, I had collected a bunch of stuff and was very happy with my character and tried to work hard to help others and be friendly. I logged in one night before bed and was in elektro and my internet connection started messing up. As soon as it fixed I heard a melee attack and I was dead. I was so mad I slammed my hands on my desk and went to bed very upset. So last night I decided to give it one more go. I was in a building and found an SKS but no ammo or clip. I was coming down the stairs and hear "Hey, I'm friendly, come on down". I'm hesitant because I had just been killed. Anyway I come down and the guy asks me if I want to join his group called "the bambi crew". I agree to do so and then 2 others show up. I figure at this point I'm dead. I spent the next 3 hours with these guys running all over the place and also we picked up one other person. We all helped each other find supplies, fight zombie, and it was great. My internet connect messed up again so I lost them, but Thank you to them for getting me excited about the game again. I only remember one of them being named tori black. I wish I could find a group like this to join more often as currently I am a loaner. If anyone wants to start a small group with me my steam is taggrat31 and my in game is Superman, my internet connection is my kryptonite atm.

it was indeed a broken leg and the issue was resolved without killing my son. Now we know :)

I have been thinking about killing my son since I found out about the broken bones issue. I guess I'll log both accounts in and then go kill my son HAHAHAAHAH. I'll try a few things and let you all know what happens. I don't have the items needed to heal him so an axe to the head is all I can do :/

Villian, I have not tried to apply morphine or anything, I've only been playing for a few days so learning myself. I'll try to login as him on my pc tonight and see what happens. I'll update with what I find. Preach, Yes I have checked the key bindings as well. Thank You for the suggestion. My son is 10 and is getting frustrated so I may have to let him play as me.

So i have Dayz standalone on 2 machines. 1 works fine with no issues. The 2nd machine is my sons and he is unable to walk in the game. Everytime he tries to walk it goes prone. He can try moving in any direction and it goes prone. I read that this is what happens when you have a broken leg, but he has no indicator on the screen that the has a broken bone and he has drowned twice to ensure this was not the issue. I have replaced the keyboard with no luck. Anyone else had this issue?
