That would be like adding water to the ocean. There's too many hackers to ban, they'll just keep coming one by one. I thought the same until I was nuked on a 20 player server.

Even if you had a starting weapon, you'd still die over and over. You're just not very good at it, sorry.

Do you honestly believe this? Have you not been playing this past week? it's a fucking nightmare. The scripts and bypass have gone public which is why there's a massive influx of hacker related deaths and Battleye isn't doing anything to stop it, it's laughable. Sure, they'll get banned eventually but it's already too late once you've lost everything.

Incident occured; UK220 DayZ - UK (v1.7.2.4/Beta 95389) [Regular| [GMT] dayzmod.com - =MGUK= 2 At roughly 19:45 to 20:10 GMT +0 We saw [HAV0K] OJBoobs running through a field geared to the teeth with an M107, Coyote backpack etc etc and ambushed him. We took what we needed and hid the body, proceeding towards our destination of Elektro. (unfortunately no screenshot evidence) Upon arriving at Elektro we noticed somebody on the hill and with a quick scan of the binoculars noticed [HAV0K] OJBoobs was lying next to an ammo box with identical gear, very suspicious. Assuming he was cheating, we sent some bullets his way and watched as his name popped up in the kill message. After leaving Elektro and heading down the coast we once again spotted [HAV0k] OJBoobs sat next to yet another ammo box, helping himself to its contents. This is not a coincidence. In both instances he was looting from an ammo box, he definitely spawned these boxes himself as I find it highly unlikely he innocently stumbled upon them in such a suspicious manner. I often counter snipe at Elektro (they have the most predictable 'sniper spots') and it amazes me how many people server hop and take pot shots at unarmed beaners. Today I had somebody login right next to me and murder a fresh spawn right before my eyes. I tell you, nothing gives me more satisfaction than killing a fully geared ghillie warrior and giving all his loot to a beaner who just spawned.

You'll always be a solo bandit. No organised and disciplined bandit squad is going to 'recruit' random joes into their highly skilled unit. If somebody posts a thread asking for bandit members, it'll be full of desperate wannabee bandit bros. There's real methodical bandit brigades out there and they terrify me.

Too true. I see people running around with the starter backpack and an AS50 in hand. The AS50 is more common than the CZ550

Your best bet would be to purchase another copy of OA straight from Bohemia's store (the non steam version) as it's much cheaper than Steam at £12.99. If you need help setting up a non-steam version just give me a shout, my friend has pretty much the same set up (non steam OA and steam Arma) Good luck, brother. I almost feel like buying you a copy myself, that's a pretty fucked up situation.

Up ahead I see dead zombies and hear distant gunshots. I try to calm myself as I haven't seen a player in days, my heart racing and my hands shaking from a cocktail of excitement and adrenaline. The hunt is now on as I draw my binoculars and follow the trail of dead zombies like bread crumbs which lead me straight to my targets, three survivors sitting on the hillside taking a breather from their zombie encounter. They're looking in my direction but I'm almost 800 metres out, there's no way they can spot my camouflaged silhouette at this distance but It still sends a shiver down my spine. I killed these men and I truly regret it. I was caught up in the thrill of the chase and didn't stop to take in what I was seeing. These were three friends, three brothers, three companions and I destroyed their day whilst I happily continued mine. What made it even more depressing is the fact they tried to rescue their fallen brethren, even after I killed two of them the third cautiously walked back to his deceased friends. He didn't want to leave their bodies, they probably worked hard for that gear and had many adventures together acquiring it. I imagine they were using voice chat over teamspeak, skype, etc. and their reactions as they are one by one sent back to the coast. What have I done? I might have ended their friendship. What if it was just one persons idea to go there, would they be angry at him? And to top it all off, they didn't quit to avoid death. These were brave men. Please forgive me.

I had this problem twice on a particular server today. Join a different server or manually update your Battleye, worked for me. I wouldn't worry about it, it's nothing to do with hacks or bans.

I like the idea. Drinking from pools of water could potentially make you sick, a can of soda being the safe alternative.

They should work fine, I guess. A friend of mine has Arma 2 on steam and a retail version of Arrowhead.

Low population servers tend to have more people at the airfield. I guess everyone is thinking "low pop server, it will be safe at the airfiend" when in fact the whole server has the same idea and therefore makes it even more dangerous. I was on a 7 player server at night and spotted a group of 4 after about 30 - 40 minutes of watching near the hangars (I usually spot most people at the hangars) edit: thought you were asking about the NW airfield. my bad!

It's backwards compatible with every server running the beta patch, there's no disadvantage.

How on earth do you Alt F4 out of the game? Alt F4 doesn't work in a fullscreen game, try it yourself.

Exactly. I guess it would work if you were running windowed mode, but hitting alt+f4 whilst fullscreen does absolutely nothing. Try it for youself.
