Hmmmm, I haven't seen this, but I feel like it deserves a bump. Sounds like it could be hardware or driver related if people have been able to connect on different computer. Couldn't hurt to fool around with different drivers. I know it sucks to hear, but try to be patient. We should have another patch coming pretty soon, maybe they'll accidentally fix it :P

Part of me likes this idea and part of me hates it. I get tired of the same old spawns too, but I also really like the excitement of the initial start in the chaos of the coast. I feel like if you spawn in the north, you're at such an advantage that it takes away from the initial thrill and recklessness of a fresh spawn. Would be a neat option for private servers, but I'd be against this being added to the overall game.

Thank you so much! I can finally play again after a couple weeks of frustration.

Well, regarding the actual topic of the thread, I've noticed that joining certain servers has wiped my character more than once. I pretty much stick to well known servers for that reason, as I've experienced permanent wipes joining servers I'm unfamiliar with. Be wary.

One thing I'd love to see in the standalone that I always thought was missing from the mod is roaming zombie hordes. Maybe a couple at a time on each server that wander into wilderness, cities, bases, whatever. Make them strong enough for an organized squad or a well armed badass to take down. I realize it may be a nightmare for the designers, but I can dream, can't I?

DayZ gods, give me a fanny pack!

I'm totally okay with the zeds hearing gunshots from far away and swarming. Seems like they respawn way too fast at the moment, though. I found myself caught at NEAF fighting a never ending zombie horde. I'm pretty okay with that, it would just be nice if they weren't spawning right next to me and already aggro'd. It did feel really intense, which I want more of in DayZ, just seems like the spawn mechanics are a little wonky right now. Would be happier with a large amount of zombies already spawned that you can clear out for a few minutes instead of a never-ending flood.

Hey guys, looks like I had a corrupted battleye file. I replaced it and it solved my problem. If you're getting a similar problem try downloading the file from battleye and copying it into your dayz folder. Cheers.

I'm still getting crashes with this hotfix. Basically I can log into a server just fine now, but about 20-30 seconds in I get a windows crash message for DayZ. Tried reinstalling DayZ and updating drivers but that hasn't helped. It's a really frustrating problem. Running an AMD Phenom II X4 970 and a Radeon 6950 HD. Hope somebody else out there has encountered this and knows a fix.

Waiting for host / Session Lost / Lag and Desync since last patch
Gandroid replied to icetneo's topic in Troubleshooting
I seem to be having a similar problem, but just want to clarify. Are you guys crashing to desktop or just getting the infinite waiting for host message? I've had both on my end. Usually I can join a server and interact with my inventory, but about 20-30 seconds in it just gives me the standard "This program has encountered an error" message. Guess I'll know in the next couple days with the hotfix, but figured it was worth asking. I haven't be able to play a full minute without a crash of some sort. Also getting the 9mm ammo related message off and on. -
Haven't had any success getting it to run. Today I tried to start it up and got a message when I logged in that some weapon file was missing. I think something to do with 9mm ammo. Anyways I'm just gonna wait it out for a couple days and see if a hotfix gets released.

Now I can join servers, but crash to desktop about 30 seconds in. Also have seen a weapon error a couple of times. Seems to have been related to 9mm ammo?

I've seen a lot of posts on here about not being able to connect to servers, but it sounds like most people aren't crashing to desktop like I am. SInce the update downloaded I haven't been able to see the server list in-game (Yes, I have the internet tab selected). Also, when I try to get around that and just hit play to join a server, I wait for host until I get the windows error saying that the program has encountered a problem and must be closed. So far I haven't been able to successfully join a server since the patch. Tried restarts and ccleaner. Not sure if anybody has these sort of symptoms, or if anyone has had success with reinstalls or other fixes?

Ran into this as well today. Gonna restart and run ccleaner and see if it fixes it. I'll comment back if I works.
