They need to bring back the zombie kill scoreboard and time survived message
BadContrakt replied to pjano's topic in Suggestions
Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes! My friends and I always talk about how we would love to have a record of the zombies killed during life, players killed, food eaten, drinks taken, miles walked, bullets fired, time alive, etc. -
"without wedging a quarter in your keyboard, balancing a glass of beer on the W key, or modding game files."

Haha the thread is titled "Auto Run Tutorial" I don't see why someone who's not interested would even click on the thread.
-
sheesh
-
I don't think these should be compared side by side as they are two very different weapons in two very different classes.

You're fighting a battle that cannot be won!

You could ask someone politely to personal message you to teach you how to remove the FRAPS time limit. I'm glad I have ShadowPlay but there are other ways to record of course. Also, Dxtory is a great program that is a direct competitor with FRAPS, but with a few more bells and whistles than FRAPS has. Maybe search youtube for FRAPS Vs Dxtory and I'm sure there are a few out there that compare them, and in my opinion Dxtory has some great features and beats FRAPS (even though I used FRAPS to record for a looong time!)

Oh wow okay. I didn't know they made EVGA. I'm not super caught up with the whole PC world. I'm not the most knowledgeable.. So yeah check out ShadowPlay it's absolutely free for all Nvidia customers. Amaaaaazing program! Oh the post above me, so a 650 or higher. And you have a 580. That's unfortunate. The 580 is a decent card too.

Actually another thought I just had is that if your computer is solid and you get good frames and your friends are running at 20 FPS or lower that can slow their characters minimally. It's a long shot but I do KNOW that if you have bad fps your character will stutter and run slower in real time. Also as far as recording software goes, I didn't read any responses or anything but I personally have the Nvidia GeForce GTX 770 and I use ShadowPlay. It's an absolutely free and amazing program with great features that other software does not offer, like recording stuff from the past, and it also records in H.264 format which barely affects frames. If you're running an Nvidia card check it out. I think it requires a 460 or higher. EDIT: I actually see you're not running Nvidia on your signature. Well that's too bad. Sorry to get your hopes up. Haha. Nvidia FTW

I actually prefer the crosshair for a few reasons. It gives me an accurate and straight run. I have the Logitech G700 and I have a key bound to "Y" to make my character auto run. It's a toggle command on the G-Series program. This way I can point the dot straight down the road then walk away and get a drink or something. It works very well. It's also very good for hip-firing the M4 or any weapon for that matter. The grey dot is never actually EXACTLY where you're aiming but it's close enough when you're in CQB with another player and don't want to ADS and would rather hipfire them down. I actually prefer M4 hipfire in close quarters and feel that it is much more effective than ADS at that range. And lastly, the dot has absolutely not once ever scared me into thinking it was a zombie, player, or any other hostile anomaly.

Actually if your friends are weenies and don't keep their character healthy, and you do, you will run faster than them. The healthier you are, the faster and more agile your character is. You are fastest when in the "Healthy" state, obviously. Something to think about.

Plain and simple. Been a bandit my entire DayZ career and love PvP; it's time to change it up. So feel free to send me a friend request and we can maybe hook up. Remember, HARDCORE servers only. I will not meet up with you on Regular.
-
Besides, doesn't that seem like a whole lot of work to just put a couple bullets into someone who's probably not going to have any gear anyways? Making a thread, friend requesting them, meeting up with them, and endangering my own life at the same time? I would be suspicious of my intentions too but come on this seems like a lot of effort just for one kill. Like I said I could easily go wreck some kids in Elektro but I feel like maybe being social and making a friend for once, even if he's a bandit.
-
Haha this is just an offering. If I want PvP I would just go to Elektro and wait 3 minutes and see someone. If no one is interested then so be it. Just throwing it out there because I can't find anyone in game lol.

What are your biggest concerns and fears regarding the near/far future of the game?
BadContrakt replied to joe_mcentire's topic in General Discussion
I mentioned to my friend a while ago "Having DayZ on GTA V engine would sick wouldn't it?" Just a thought. I've always hated the Arma engine. So clunky. I'm sad that the SA has such a poor engine, but it's ok I'm excited to see what it CAN turn into. And eventually some other developer will come out with some brilliant zombie survival even better than DayZ. For now, the DayZ Standalone is one of my favorite games and I have little complaints. They're working hard to listen to us and make the game as good as possible within the bounds of the engine, company bank account, and balance between realism and fun like Dean was saying at Rezzed. I appreciate that this isn't a flame post though, and is more of a constructive post. -
Fellow bandits: Ever done anything you ever actually felt bad about?

My friend who is unusually wild on this game will just walk up to a fresh spawn I'm talking to and shoot him in the head. I'm like dude WTF!? My friend needs Jesus, clearly. -
One Thing Needs To Be Addressed [ROADMAP]
BadContrakt replied to Katana67's topic in General Discussion
I have only read the OPs post. I have not read any responses. Personally I do not favor any of these choices. When I was watching Dean at Rezzed and when the kid asked him "Won't players be able to server hop and spawn right into our bases?" I instantly came up with an amazing plan to remedy that without having to spawn a fully geared player that logged out at NWAF all the way at the fucking coast, which is ludicrous to even throw a playful paw at the idea. What if you log out of your favorite =ADK= server and go to bed, wake up and =ADK= is down for maintenance but plenty of servers are still up? Being punished for sometimes uncontrollable states is ridiculous. Here's the idea I had right when the kid mentioned base spawning. "No Spawn Beacon" This is a brand new idea and obviously would need some polishing but this is the basic framework. All players get one or maybe they have to find them, craft them, whatever, BEACON. Build your base, and you lay the "no spawn" beacon in the middle of your base and that disables player spawning in a range of 50 meters or 100 meter or whatever maybe even 250 meters. So when I spawn in to someone's base I am not reset to the coast I am just "displaced" 100 meters so that way I am safely spawned out of their base and they don't have to worry about me spawning inside and murdering everyone. I know this would probably be a rather intensive mechanic to implement and would probably create a bit of load on the server but like I said it's a framework that needs a bit of thinking. Maybe this has already been thought of and my idea wasn't so great, who knows. But that's my stand on this whole subject. -
This information is also wrong. Zombies have already pre-spawned before your arrival into the town or area. The only time a zombie will spawn right behind you is when you kill one. So if you don't want zombies spawning right on you, then avoid other zombies. 100% fact: Additional zombies only spawn next to your character if you've just killed a zombie. New zombies do not RANDOMLY spawn in around you as you made it sound, "1 Zombie spawns right behind you every 20 seconds".
-
This information is actually wrong. The zombies spawn erratically whether you kill them with an axe, an SKS, or your fists. It does not matter. They still have a chance of spawning 5 yards away from you. However, shooting your rifle will aggro tons more. Using your axe you may only have to kill 2-5 and you'll be safe. If you use a rifle you'll have the whole block chasing you plus all the ones that spawn in when you kill one.
-
I understand your complaint and agree that the zombies are definitely more aggressive and they do spawn very close and you DO bleed quite easily from them... Although I disagree that this is a game breaking flaw. This is a zombie survival game. If you're looking for a game to shoot players there's always call of duty? Your number one priority in this game should be survival not to hunt players. Before this patch went live, I never died to a zombie. After the more aggressive zombies and spawning, I still have never died from a zombie. You just have to change your playstyle a little bit. Sure the zombies can become a nuisance when trying to loot but dude... It's DayZ... Yes, they have plans on stabilizing the zombies more and giving them collision very soon. We're currently in Q1 of the year and I think in Q2 they're going to be polishing zombie mechanics so look forward to that.

Can't tell if trolling...

That's toughhhhh.

You are probably one of the biggest douchebags I have ever come across on the internet. Literally.
-
You lost all your stuff when you logged back on? Well that's probably because we killed you when you were logging out in the clinic in svetlo. I saw you sitting there and said something and you didn't reply. Sorry about that!

Yes, I realize this is probably happening to others, and yes I realize it's probably already been posted. But I've tried 5 times now to stay in a game for longer than 60 seconds and fail every time. I get into the game just fine, but then in under a minute I'm instantly kicked and it says Authentication Timeout. This has started happening since I downloaded the new patch, obviously. Anyone else? Any fix for this?
