Impression of Standalone (from a DayZ Mod Veteran)
Feuerbart replied to chrismgtis (DayZ)'s topic in New Player Discussion
Never played the Mod, liked SA from the first minute on. It's alpha, with a lot more features to come, knocking down that deathmatch gameplay in Elektro/Berezino as it is now (which I dislike). Stay calm, have some beans! -
Rule 34!

You can find firewood quite often, especially in the restaurants. Though its useless right now. I've found a stone once. It was badly damaged. Dafaq? "Sorry, you can't throw this stone because it has cracks". Or what?

So what happens when zombies can run up stairs?
Feuerbart replied to ChimpyGlassman (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
Being on higher ground is a huge advantage for you, especially if its such a narrow space like a stair. You'll be able to take out one zombie after another. I'd rather prefer that, than this annoying zombie spawning every 3 seconds within 2m around you. And: If they keep the dev speed up right it is now, zombies won't be able to go up stairs before 2018 :D -

Rolling Update Rev - 0.43.116251
Feuerbart replied to Hicks_206 (DayZ)'s topic in News & Announcements
Played yesterday, different servers. No loot respawns (stable). I call bullsh*t -
I've found a dead guy in the first floor of the school (?) in Berezino, wearing a riders jacket AND a press vest. Took his backpack and the press vest, but I wasn't able to take the jacket. The body flew in front of me up to the second floor. Scary as hell. Man, would've looked so badass with my black cowboy hat and the aviator glasses :D
-
I know that feel bro. If you aren't into deathmatch in Elektro, my suggestion is sightseeing. Chernarus has some really nice places to see (Green Mountain, the castles, and so on...). Right now simply looking for a cowboy hat. Thats right folks and fellas, a cowboy hat. Because cowboy hats are AWESOME! And it MUST BE a BLACK one! So actually I'm just randomly traveling around inland and try to meet other friendly players on middle pop servers.
-
Yep, my experience too. I'm only playing off the coast (at least the south coast), and only met other players at the NWAF. Since now I have a pretty fancy M4 (never used it so far), I even stay away from the military loot points. Sometimes I find some looted supermarkets, but yeah, inland is empty usually. Pretty curious to meet someone in small town etc. Would you shoot on sight?

Why is everybody complaining about a game that is not even remotely finished? - Lags -> They know, fixed a little bit. Will focus on that later - bugs -> They know - Zombies -> Work in progress. Already tried something out. - Survival -> Work in progress. Damn, I can't wait for the hunting feature. - Loot -> Spawning will be implemented, also balancing. - Gameplay -> As soon as there are more features, people will stop playing their shitty deathmatch in Elektro Instead of whining how crappy this game is, give some constructive feedback the devs can use. Everyone of the devs IS aware that the game itself is buggy or maybe boring at some point, so what? All of you have the chance to play the game before is really finished and can do his own effort to make DayZ an outstanding game. Damn, as a big Mass Effect fan, I wish I would have had this chance for ME3, or now, for ME4. They already have a playable version, but haven't even published ANY DETAIL of the game or even a f*cking screenshot. Do you get my point? Just my two cents.

Do bandits really exist on DayZ Standalone?
Feuerbart replied to TheModernGamer94's topic in General Discussion
I think this belongs to the KOS Thread... Whatever, people tend to shoot on sight on the coast for self defense, since there are the most "bandits". Like it is now, "bandits" are just fully geared people that head for elektro or coast in general to shoot other people to not get bored. Just my two cents. -
why the f#ck is everyone looking like a bandit? Don't walk around dressed like that and then complain in the forum about getting KOS!
-
In my opinion, it doesn't matter if you are quiet or stay out of sight. Zeds are simply aware that you are there, and sometimes they aggro on you (haven't found out the game mechanic or logic yet). It happend very often to me that they I was standing DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF THEM, running around, eating and drinking and they just didn't care. Then, on the other side, even if you are crowling quietly somewhere out of sight (they can see you though, since buildings/objects don't exist for them), they'll propably aggro on you. tl;dr They can't see or hear, they are just aware of your presence and will maybe aggro on you.

Do Zombies Dream Of A Good Nights Sleep? (Zombie feedback)
Feuerbart replied to SmashT's topic in General Discussion
Fully Equipped -> Fine, taste the cold steel of my axe. Yesterday I killed round about 30 zeds in a row, but they just kept coming. Really annoying. Freshspawn -> unplayable. -
Most of the characters look like they are bandits and I guess its even the same people that complain to get KOS. Please mind my signature!

Hi there, this thread is to find out places in Chernarus everyone should have seen. I started with DayZ one or two weeks ago, been there, saw that... I have the feeling, as soon as people are fully equipped they tend to go south to the coast and start hunting other people, especially fresh spawns. That's definetely not my intention to do (got Battlefield 3 for that). Chernarus has generally a nice landscape and very beautiful things to watch, so I don't want to waste my time camping in the firestation or any roofs and wait for prey. As far as I have played, I visited: - Skalisty Island. Very quiet, no zombies, "no" loot. Theres a sunken shipwreck at the north of the coast. - All the three airfields. Holy f*ck. Lots of weird people there. - the big Shipwreck in the north, south of Svetlojarsk. You can even go in there and there is loot! - both military bases - Svetlojarsk. Veeeery high north on the coast. Extremely beautiful city, especially the harbour at dawn. Went then straight west, along the tracks through the cities that have not been built yet. Looks... funny :D - Yesterday I was on the radio tower on the Green Mountain. Quite stunning to see from far away, very beautiful landscape. Unfortunately you can only climb the lowest of the platforms. Just sat there, ate a can of beans, had a Pipsi (why is there no beer? Come on...) and watched the sunset. So, can anyone recommend things you should have seen, visited or done in Chernarus?

Zombies Need To Get Worse Before They Get Better (READ)
Feuerbart replied to Katana67's topic in General Discussion
a) And then? You can handle one or two, but now you'll be bleeding and they just respawn. B) Help? What? Are you serious? Have you ever played this game? c) And then? Sitting on a high building completely unarmed, hungry and thirsty while bleeding to death sounds very...boring. -
Zombies Need To Get Worse Before They Get Better (READ)
Feuerbart replied to Katana67's topic in General Discussion
I haven't played the game since the new update happened, but reading this indicates that zeds became way too much a threat. So now there are MORE zeds, they spawn even close to you and you'll be bleeding from the first hit? Don't get this wrong, but how should a freshspawn handle this completely unarmed? Especially because you obviously can't avoid them by being stealthy. I understand this is alpha and we are the "test subjects", but...come on! -
Well, since I've never found a radio... nope. Wasn't there a story about Green Mountain being haunted or something that came out as a hoax in the end? But well, thats another story and maybe this thread is not the right place to discuss this... Found a dam in the north of Elektro (Topolka Dam), on the map, but it looks pretty small. Worth a visit?
-
yeah, shat my pants twice, but luckily I found new ones up there :D That Hoax about green mountain was brilliant. We need more of this!
