No hangers? It's an airfield!

I have an essence ST and HD595. It's very hard to sound locate.

Yeh but I think you mean soya :)

You know that's one of the biggest misconceptions about vegetarianism. Also, saying "and that's a fact" doesn't make what you say a fact. If you find some cold, hard proof then I'll change my stance. http://www.todaysdietitian.com/newarchives/082510p20.shtml http://www.acefitness.org/acefit/healthy-living-article/60/86/are-vegetarian-diets-safe/ Note: I'm not a vegetarian, but I will defend them when non-vegetarians think they are superior because they get all the mysterious "specific molecules"

Q: How to Snipe people successfully from about 700-800 meters?
ref replied to blazed's topic in General Discussion
Today I had my first real experience with the long range scope. The first zombie practice target was 300m away (estimated). Hit him first time. The second was 1000m away (estimated with the map). Hit him first try. Then my first human targets. Hit the first guy on my first shot. Still going well. The second guy took about 10 shots until I hit him, he probably didn't die. The third didn't get hit. He then lagged in to us (friend and I) a few minutes later, we both died, I couldn't see him due to lag (he was just running in one direction). It seems like it's literally hit or miss, the de-syncing makes it impossible to shoot properly regularly. The really really really stupid swaying of the scope (totally annoying, it's not done well at all), and not being able to see where the bullets land make it really hard to snipe. -
Yes I hope they implement the previous system where there was no real control when looking or aiming, where the speed of turning seemed to be based on some random number generator, and where turning your mouse faster meant you spin around slower. I hate it at the moment where it works and the only things they need to tweak are sensitivity and spin movement in prone.

Meeting bandits is a wonderful experience. It's the KoS kiddies we want to avoid.

Today we went to an apartment block in Berezino and set up a gas lamp on the roof. We had many people come join our party (one of them got a bit out of hand and had to be shot sadly; another thought he was infected with the virus and jumped off the roof). It was fantastic. Sadly the servers reset before morning.

What's the current hacking status like in DayZ:SA?
ref replied to RadikulRAM's topic in General Discussion
Friend and I just got shot through the walls in an apartment block in Berezino. Not fun. -
I would have tied him up or something :)
-
Yes, if you want to be a selfish prat and take all the loot then KoS is the way to go.

I ran in to a guy who shot me in the leg with a crossbow. I shouted some hilarious non-offensive abuse at him. He stood in front of me, shooting more bolts in to the ground. I asked how he had so many bolts. He then proceeded to drop several packs of 256 bolts on the floor. Another guy ran past and he ran after him. I begged for a stick. I crawled around for 5 minutes or so (it was night time) and he came back with a stick and a magnum filled with 256 rounds. I took them, realised I had no rags, went in to crouch mode, fired a few rounds hoping someone would come and save me (there were many, many people running around) and then I died from blood loss.

Why does the cross bow do more damage than the m4?
ref replied to taco86's topic in General Discussion
Crossbow bolts are much heavier than m4 rounds. Armies today do not use crossbows because they are less accurate (the crossbow flies slower), much much much harder to reload, much harder to carry around ammunition, have decreased range, more cumbersome, less reliable etc. -
New 1:1 Mouse Controls are not good for the game
ref replied to tatchell (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
A new slider is needed yes, as lowest sensitivity it's still too much for me. But the new system works. The fact that you can prone and spin around is not a result of the 1:1 mechanic, that movement is independent and they can tweak it if they need to. -
How do you throw things if you have reassigned all your controls? I can't find the throw option in the controls.
-
So I can't comment on aiming with weapons or heavy things, but normal looking around/holding small items responds with 1:1 raw mouse feedback. It's about 10x more enjoyable to look around than before.
-
If I was holding a 50cal rifle, I would still be able to look around, without moving my gun, as freely as I would holding an M4. This cannot translate in to mouse movement in games; the mouse currently controls where you are looking and where your gun is looking, which breaks down any attempt to simulate "realism" through this input method. The movement, especially aiming/looking, at the moment is horrible. There are plenty of ways to penalise big guns, as pointed out previously in this thread. They do not involve messing around with your neck muscles. Furthermore (even though at the moment it's not realistic anyway), realism =/= fun. Plausible...
-
You don't need a degree to justify what he said, it's just logical.
-
That argument doesn't work. I'm sure the devs want all the other bugs gone too.
-
1:1 basically means linear movement. As in, the amount of moves on screen is only dependent on how far you move your mouse on your mousemat, and not the speed in which you move your mouse.
-
If we are going for realism here we should remove the zombies from the game.
-
"Up the mouse speed and you have instant 360 spin." What are you talking about? You don't need to have acceleration to put a cap on spin speed. You know that acceleration increases speed right, by definition? If you think having 1:1 mouse speed is going to turn this game in to an everyday bland shooter then you might be slightly deluded.
-
What is the logical connection between 1:1 mouse movement and "noscopeheadshottwitch"?
-
I can figure it out. It just so happens that it's an awful system and makes no logical sense for video games. You can translate stuff from real life to make immersive gameplay. But we still walk around using a keyboard and look around using a mouse. This requires that the input system has a balance of immersion and functionality. Mouse acceleration is neither of these things. It is not immersive because it doesn't make any sense; turning your head quicker in real life only increases the speed of which you turn linearly. If we put acceleration in our heads, you would have a very sore neck after looking quickly at something. It's not functional as it penalises those with faster reaction times. If that's what they want, then this should be a turn based game. It's also a system which is extremely hard to learn. It's like solving cubic equations each time you look around instead of solving linear ones. Anyone who disagrees has no experience with any first person video games.
