I think you're in Dolina, not sure though: http://dayzdb.com/map/chernarusplus#7.111.087

Chernarus is just a fictional post-soviet state, I guess you can compare it with eastern Ukraine. They have seemingly taken a lot of IRL inspiration though, such can be seen here: http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/48159-chernarus-in-real/

Are you 100% certain that this town already exists? According to the DayZ weekly report that town is going to get added in the next update. (http://dayzdev.tumblr.com/)
-
The house is not new, it existed in Arma 2. Maybe it's the start of the village they posted in the weekly report?

Dual wielding anything except for pistols just wouldn't work, and even with pistols it would be horribly inaccurate to the point of it being useless. I do, however, think that you should be able to hold some form of one-handed melee weapon while having a flashlight in the other.

Benefit of the doubt for gear wipes?

I for one don't get mad at it, I've had my character reset once and I was completely fine with it and I knew what had happened as soon as I appeared on the coast. -
There are a thousand things you don't even know about, and it's amusing and sad at the same time, just don't play the freaking game, or wait till its full release.
-
Good guess, but he already said what it was in the comments on that tweet. It's actually a slide lock for a pistol.
-
This game might not be meant for you, you seem to be pretty bad at it and I would suggest to keep playing but if you're going to go on the forum and spew the bullshit you encountered and call it a bad game cause you had a bad first 20 minutes of palying it then you can kindly walk out of the door, sir.

I have no problem at surviving, I'm atleast not having your issues. Maybe try a different tactic? ;)

Bike jousting! Excellent!

Acceptable behavior? aka 'Cool story Bro' time
Survivor_Ted replied to Thadius (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
The devs don't think it's okay. I for one definitely don't think it's okay for someone to do it, but until they fix it there nothing we can do. -
It depends on where you find the pistol, it makes sense to keep the pistol and the mag seperated for safety meassures. Others also think that it would be too easy to find it with the mag.
-
Yep, even the description of the gun says "Useful for small game hunting". It's not really 'meant' to be used in PvP, but it's better than nothing, aim for the legs or head.
-
Ah! I'll be sure to experiment with this later when I play.
-
It completely depends on the people. If you've got 50 hours, and you play (assumingly) on high populated servers, and haven't found a single person who communicated, apart from that one guy, you've had some bad luck. Frankly, communicating is a huge risk in its self, you have no idea how the other person will react to a - "Hello there, friendly! How are you?". I remember this one time when I was bleeding and I just couldn't find any bandage or rags, I saw two guys, one of them had a rifle, in Berezino fighting off some zombies in a field. I decided to try my luck and see if they could help me, I ran up to them with my weapon on my back and started talking to them, they responded and were just generally good people who talked in a friendly way and helped me with my bleeding problem. After that we gave each other some stuff, said farewell, and went on with our lives. Now, this could've ended badly for me, but I was lucky who took the gamble because otherwise I would've probably bled out.
-
The zombies are not finished yet, bud. Do not expect them to be like this in the finished product. :P
-
Yup, I did that as well.
-
I tried to put a canteen in my hands, stand in the rain, wait. Raise it, wait. It didn't fill up, maybe try putting it on the ground?
-
It took some time for me to get the servers showing in the internet tab, try waiting a minute.

DayZ, as it should be played - Killing Bandits
Survivor_Ted replied to Quincy (DayZ)'s topic in Gallery
I'm sorry, but I couldn't really understand some of the things you said, anyway. The guy was in the middle of the street, the nearest cover was a house 10 meters away, which leaves him really exposed and trying to run behind a house would probably lead to certain death. I just can't really comprehend that you ACTUALLY suggested combat logging, I knew you were a KOS'ing kind of guy, but combat logging is definitely not the right choice here. -
DayZ, as it should be played - Killing Bandits
Survivor_Ted replied to Quincy (DayZ)'s topic in Gallery
It entirely depends on the playstyle, I would put my weapon down, as the enemy can clearly see me and I can't see him, and he hasn't killed me yet. Therefore, the smartest thing to do is to comply as this will give you a better chance of surviving than trying to escape. 'And found the enemy' <-- Might be easier said than done, pal. -

As much as I agree with you, I think there were strong reasons to believe that the guy had murdered the other guy, whether it was in self defence or not, we will never know. But he even gave him warnings to drop the weapons he had and if he'd comply I think he would've lived through it.
