  1. That was a cool story to read, most people would've just disconnected. It's nice that you and your buddies tried to fight back.
  2. How can you put "real" and "zombie apocalypse" together in the same sentence? That being said, i can't see how you can predict how people would act in an impossible situation, unless you watched too many Resident Evil movies and you started to believe. Like someone pointed out before, being able to do everything you want without any consequences makes people act like jerks, in every single game. But hey, i still like the game, but i would like to see something changed around this topic, yes.
  3. I don't get the constant need to compare the game to real life, since in real life there are no zombies, this is a game after all. In my opinion there is no need to add a feature like this, but anyway, this is just my opinion.
  4. I would prefer slower zombies as well, maybe stronger to balance things out. I can't stand super fast zombies that run in zig-zagg trying to avoid bullets. Zombies walking in large packs, killing you with a few hits, along with some new "stamina" alike feature that prevents us from running in full-speed forever, THAT would be awesome!
  5. This would be really nice. But i would love to have some of the main issues fixed first before seeing the developers working into this matter. But anyway, VERY NICE!
  6. Yes, i think it would be viable to disable the respawn button ONLY if we get rid of the bugs that actually makes us respawn in order to play properly, AND maybe turning those ghost areas like Kamenka into places that we can actually find something, i mean anything. Maybe people would actually stay and walk around those places.
  7. I know most people don't do this, but the first thing i did after buying ARMA 2:CO was open the game and start playing the ARMA 2 campaign and boot camp. You will learn a lot of things like how to handle your gear/inventory, how the game mechanics work, and some other cool stuff. I didn't play the whole campaign, but after a few missions i was able to get into a DayZ server and it was much better (I tried playing DayZ right after i installed the game but i failed miserably multiple times).
  8. It's only worth it (depending on the loot you find of course) if you wanna become more than a casual player. I have lots of fun with simple gear, and i get that feeling that every time i get something above average i start to play too careful and the game stops being fun. It's always your call, there is a lot of risk, but it can be rewarding. In my personal experience, i rather not go there, because you will get killed anyway. LOL.
  9. Nice Call of Duty video. Wait.. What?
  10. I'm sorry if you already know about this, but just to make sure you don't get screwed, you should stay away from the ghillie suit for a while, since it has been stated that it's giving players lots and lots of issues in patch 1.7.2 (making items disappear and other problems). But anyway, good luck trading :)
  11. I re-installed the game completely and now it works (i was stuck at the loading bar, at every single server i tried). This time, i just installed ARMA2+ARMA2OA and six-updater downloaded DayZ and the Beta Patch for me, and that's it. In my previous installation i replaced the BattlEye client and server files in my folders, but this time i let the game itself update it for me. Maybe i just got lucky, but now at least i can join.
  12. Are the zombies really running inside buildings? I mean, IMHO this is a terrible idea, i think this (running inside buildings) would be really cool IF the zombies were running like they should, in straight lines without zig-zagging and glitching like hell.
  13. @Time Glitch The idea itself you proposed is amazing - for a movie or a book. I want a game, i want to enjoy and have fun, mixed with tension and fear. Putting all this stuff together would make the game unplayable. Make the game unplayable and people start to leave. Without people, we have no game. It's hard to please both sides of the coin, the hardcore players and the casual players, but we can't forget that both exist. I HATE the deathmatch feeling that is taking over this game, but i'm sure we'll find more suitable ideas to balance this, one way or another. Don't get me wrong, we both want the same thing.
  14. I tried deleting the "mpmissions" folder but i'm still stuck. I hope this gets fixed soon enough.
  15. And i'm still stuck at loading, no matter what server i try to join!
  16. From what i know there is no such thing at this moment. All you can do is gather your friends in teamspeak or skype (anything like that) so you guys can meet somewhere in the game. You will need to watch out for friendly fire though.
  17. Just wondering, what could possibily make someone come to the forum, open a brand new thread, to brag about killing not geared people while hiding in a bush 500m away? Please, i wish i could forget i read this. Kids these days... By the way, you seem to be defending your "case" a lot, if you were indeed "right", no explanations would've been necessary. Anyway, lame, lol...
  18. Are you serious? This is a game my friend. If you want something different fill a back pack with supplies and go live in the woods. Life is already painfull enough, 99% of the people are here to have some fun with their friends. The 1% of the people who thinks dying in the game should make you die in real life or any other stuff like that should take it easy, and be cool. If you don't like to team up with humans, just don't.
  19. I think their speed is not the issue. They can keep their super-speed, as long they are only able to run in straight lines. Their hability to run in zig-zag is really annoying and pointless. STRAIGHT LINE PLEASE! :)
  20. I rather have an enfield and some beans like someone said. You would probably die a thousand times before gathering all that stuff, many many hours of gameplay just to START shooting people on the back? Too much effort for nothing, in my opinion. If i wanted to become a bandit, the average gear is fine, an enfield with some regular supplies. You would get more things from the people you killed, so that's ok.
