Staff: Need clarification on ban-able offenses
[email protected] replied to walkerbait421's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Do you think all admins are like that? For how long do you think everything will be fine until A LOT of admins start banning people because they got killed, or a member of their clan got killed, and they're just mad about it? This happens even in a big game like Battlefield 3, and in every game with community hosted servers. That's why i love the idea about studio hosted servers, even though i don't think it would be possible to do this in DayZ. Anyway, there's a lot of good admins out there, i know that, but also know that some people just forget that admins are actually regular people, and they start to act like dictators in their own server banning and kicking people whenever the players do something that upsets them, that's why i think the control should stay on the developer's hand and his team, so they can actually see for themselves what action should be taken against a player accused from hacking. -
Faint everytime I spawn on a server.

Status: shock Symptoms: If the player logs out with this status, the next time they log in they will spend a long period unconscious. It is marked by a White symbol on the HUD Causes: Shock is the status effect a player will receive after being shot at by another player or damaging themselves somehow. Treatment: This status will last for 5 minutes and is incurable Source: dayzwiki.com -
Dude, if everything you said in this thread was undeniable truth, you wouldn't need to defend your case that much, would you? Unless Rocket is your brother, or something like that. Just say you don't agree with him, it's OK, we'll understand. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I agree with some things said about the game becoming a little boring and stuff, and i also think some changes should be made. You can't throw the "it's alpha" excuse for everything, even before this stage the developers and even the testers know the direction the software is heading. That's the point, if the game keeps following this direction, i just think the game will lose a huge amount of non-griefers, which will make the game become boring as hell because the same way we need "bandits", we also need "survivors". Well, i'm dying to see what happens in a month or two, i hope it does get better regarding the gameplay, bugs, etc.

Post apacolyptic greifing simulator for D-bags
[email protected] replied to skyter's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I agree with every word you said, but honestly i can't say if the developers will do something regarding this matter in the future, since it seems a lot of people has adopted this play-style recently. I'm not saying that people should get PUNISHED for killing other players, but SOMETHING should be done do even things out a little bit. By killing everyone i see i am rewarded with good and easy to get loot. What do i get by try to playing as a survivor? Nothing, except for a bullet in the back. We don't need punishments, we need to reward the other play styles as well (i know the griefers will consider this as a punishment, but their fun shouldn't come at the expense of our fun, at least not always). This is one of the factors that will determine if i'm buying the game or not when it's fully released in the future. Even though i love this game, THIS is exactly what separates DayZ from the other regular first person shooters that i played before. -
Hotfix Build 1.7.2.3 Rolling Update

Honestly, i can't stand the amount of time during the loading screen. I'll wait for the next hotfix, lol. -
Run... And don't look back.

Hotfix Build 1.7.2.3 Rolling Update
[email protected] replied to rocket's topic in Mod Announcements & Info
I don't think that's the point here. This totally depends on what the developers want their infected/zombies to be. If i'm right, we were supposed to be able to avoid them by sneaking (crouch walking or prone), which adds some tension to the game and requires you to think about where you need to go and what will you do about it, without aggroing an entire horde of zombies along the way. I can see a zombie from a mile away, this doesn't mean he has to see me back in the same way, unless they are regular humans just like you and me. PS: Loading screen lasting 5minutes+, this is really freaking me out. -
Snipers ........its kinda like this.
[email protected] replied to puppetmaster11's topic in New Player Discussion
You mean Chernarus? We would be lucky if this kind of thing happened only in Cherno. -
Suggestion: Natural Consequences For Murder
[email protected] replied to ssimmons's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Honestly i don't think there should be THIS KIND of punishment to bandits. Killing causes the player to be thirsty? It makes no sense. I'd rather have something like the bandit skin, or anything close to that, but nothing that actually affects a player's status like that. -
Just make the cross bow ammo appear in quivers, don't need to build the damn thing, lol. It's not like we're finding random bullets on the floor and building the magazine ourselves. Sorry if this is rude, but this is not needed at all in my opinion.

Most intense firefight of my life
[email protected] replied to acid_blotter's topic in DayZ Mod Gallery
I laughed so much that i started crying. Didn't even finish watching the video yet, cool stuff bro.     -
If you're running along the cost searching those little towns/villages for weapons, you'll probably find nothing. There are plenty of farms located near the cost with good starting weapons, you just need to go A LITTLE north, to find them. Even if you respawn in Elektro or Cherno you can get weapons very easily, maybe 10 minutes tops. 3 days looking for weapons without finding one means you're looking in the wrong places.

IF this was an actual game...
[email protected] replied to rocket's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Game purchase only. Studio Developed. Since i can't say how many studio servers (and their performance) you guys would be able to maintain without a monthly fee, i would probably answer Community servers, or BOTH. Kickstarter. -
Hotfix Build 1.7.2.3 Rolling Update
[email protected] replied to rocket's topic in Mod Announcements & Info
Performance seems to be degrading after some time playing the game. I got to a point that it was impossible to play, lagging like crazy, had to disconnect and connect again a few times just to get things running smooth again. Don't know if this was a problem with the server or something, but the problem was definitely there! Loading screen lasts for ages, at least on the servers I've played. Graphic glitches still happening when you look in the direction of already placed wire fences. -
FPS Issues on Alienware M14x
[email protected] replied to SpYdre (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
My friend has one too, the FPS isn't that great either. But anyway, Arma 2 is a heavy game, don't know if it really should be like this, but it is. My friend can even run games like battlefield 3 in pretty decent graphic settings, using the GT555m (not running in 1080p). -
We'll probably need Cowboy Hats and Guitars before we need a Zombie Sentry, bro. Just saying.

Poll: should DayZ have classes?
[email protected] replied to sparta436's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I voted NO. So many different games with class system, talent/skill system. I don't think this would be cool here, i'm here for something different, not another common MMO or FPS game. -
Make the crossbow not useless
[email protected] replied to bluerising's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Yes, putting the quiver in the tool-belt would be great. You would be able to right click it and when selecting the option "remove from tool-belt" it would turn into 3-5 bolts in the main inventory. THAT would be nice. I also don't get the iron sights very well, never handled the crossbow fine without the crosshair. -
If you can't get the item by pressing "G" try getting it by scrolling the middle mouse button and selecting the proper option in the left side of the screen, like "Take Hatchet".

Zombies ain't doing shit + no loot
[email protected] replied to TheMachine's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Dude, it's not like a bandit is pointing a gun at your head holding you as hostage, forcing you to play. Test the game, post your feedback here and they'll look into it some time, maybe fixing the problem in the next updates. -

Zombies are overpowered since patch 1.7.2 (Video as proof)
[email protected] replied to wietse02's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
The "visibility" number in the debug monitor represents the distance that a zombie can actually spot you in meters? Sorry, didn't enter any server after 1.7.1.5 so i'm just wondering what this number actually represents. -
Laptop players? Your specs
[email protected] replied to FrankFisher's topic in New Player Discussion
My friend has an Alienware M14x and he was complaining about the performance while playing DayZ, even at low/normal graphics settings. I guess it must be rough playing on older laptops since a lot of PC players complain of the performance as well.
