    Steam Sharing

Steam sharing requires you to authorize his pc using your account, i.e you need to login on the computer you want to authorize. click on the "steam"-button utmost left top, go to the family tab and click "authorize this computer". Once that's done when he logs in he'll see your library of games and be able to download/play these games. However he won't be able to play them when you're playing -any- other game. Not sure what the policy is regarding non-family members though.

    Do not shoot the rabbit!

You can't kill 'em, I've tried. Was looking so forward to making a nice rabbit stew as well.

    Log in...lol

I'm not sure what needs fixing exactly? What's your ping? Have you set the search parameters for servers correctly? I've had zero issues launching and searching and logging into servers, neither have my friends. The only time I know of was when they introduced the latest patch and they had hive issues but other than that...

Am i a bandit or hero?

Self defense never brands you as a bandit but holding people up does. You have to ask yourself though, what are you doing being fully geared with those fresh spawns? One thing is certain; you're not a hero.
  5. Reminds me very much of stalker, nothing special about the graphics but capable of destroying even the most powerful rigs.
  6. Puts a little extra pressure on gathering/looting, nothing beats holding up a fully geared guy with an empty gun getting the ammo you need from his backpack. So no I'm not worried.

    Hyperthreating - Intel I7/Xeon

I'm waiting for both proper multicore/hyperthreading support and crossfire/sli support but the latter one is probably going to take a while. I guess it's also easier optimizing the engine itself.

What's the current hacking status like in DayZ:SA?

At this stage in the development you'd want to have hackers, so the devs can start plugging those holes and banning these people, so that when the game goes beta or gets released there are few to no hacks out there. Still it's not fun though. The current security measure also bans with a delay similar to VAC, so people who use hacks don't get removed instantly but will see their access to the game blocked after a few weeks. Better find a decent server that is being admin'd so that people like this don't pop up too much. I don't understand "hackers" either, if it's just to find the exploits that's okay but actually using them? Whenever I used cheats in single player games I got bored of the game a couple hours later there's just no challenge to it. Heck you're not even playing anymore just pressing buttons...

    Tactical Vest

Ye it's removed only the Uk assault vest is in there, but it pretty much does the same. There's also a black version of the UK one.

Regaining blood is way too hard

I'm not sure if you're aware of this but saline doesn't replenish blood. It's just a bag of sterile salt water, got some nice uses in the medical field but here in DayZ it's used to regain blood pressure not the actual blood. I think that's important to note because even though it'll restore color you won't effectively be healed so the next time you scratch your arm or cut your finger you'll be bleeding to death.
  11. Ye if I turn the fov all the way down or all the way up I get sick, horribly sick. Locking it at a certain value is the most horrible thing a dev could do. I don't understand how it affects the zoom though, this is the first time I've seen a fov-setting do something like that.

Do you kill people with the payday masks on sight?

I kneecap everyone on sight, whether or not I kill them is a different story.

What is the speed of the player?

At the end of the day it's a game, you'd always have to make a choice between gameplay elements and hyper-realism. In this scenario as long as decent modes of transport are absent I don't mind my character being able to run for an infinite amount of time. It's the same for the medic system, breaking a leg in a zombie apocalypse would pretty much mean game-over, but that's pretty lame and unfun so you're allowed to smack some sticks against it and call it a day. Unless you also really want pooping and a 6-hour sleep routine to be part of the game. Back on topic though I believe there's a guy who ran past the entire coast so considering you know the dimension of the map you'd be able to calculate an approximate speed, not sure if anyone has done this already though.

wind direction/speed feedback to the player

small clouds of dust flying up from the ground as well as leafs and the occasional (small) branches should provide at least a solid sense of wind speed/direction. I'm really looking forward to see some epic weather effects, especially storms.

    Remove Zombies until they're fixed.

hush, people like the OP clearly don't understand the concept of a placeholder, neither of what an Alpha is.

    Dear Developer-Team of DayZ

People with no clue about game development thinking they need to tell game developers how to do their job. just focus on this, just focus on that... God you make me want to kill puppies. You don't see people telling a doctor "to just cut the tumor away" how difficult is that. Or tell space engineers to just focus on "making a spacecraft that can traverse the universe"
  17. Not that difficult I made both crossbow and bow myself many years ago, and those worked pretty well. Eventually my parents took away most of it when we started making pointy arrows but it's really not -that- hard. edit: the bow was based of an SAS survival guide, the crossbow was made using a cycling flag pole (flexible plastic stick) cut in three and taped together and a wooden base. I understand that people like guns and eastern european countries are loaded with those (seriously why would anyone living in a crappy wooden shed spend their money on guns is beyond me though) but let's just assume everyone and most of their guns took of to safer places and those washing up ashore just need to make due with what's left. I'd love to see more decay on weapons though.

    Your body Feels wet?

You'll get cold, your equipment wears out faster. Or that's what it's going to do at least, right now I don't think it has any effect whatsoever.

    40 person scenario/event (Hardcore server)

Right now I wouldn't say this is possible, better wait until private hives are allowed. Then just auto-ban everyone that dies from the server. The idea sounds interesting though.

Save The Trees Man! Marginalized Wilderness

I sincerely hope they'll enlarge the map going further north and west with larger rivers and huge forests with the coastal region being a more industrialized/civilized area. Then again who knows eh.

Anyone Find the Engraved 1911 HandGuns?

I think I saw one around the forests of black castle, didn't believe my eyes. it was white.... and.. majestic. Sadly I cracked a twig after which it bolted away faster then a lightning strike. I know it sounds crazy but they do exist.

    Sudden death

Not sure if they fixed it already but there's a bug where you simply vanish/die, my brother had this happen to him, we were in the middle of nowehere, no one around his body insta-disappeared and he got the "you're dead"-message.
  23. DedicateDdos

    bird hack is out! wtf!?

As long as the devs are working on patching up hacks and exploits I'm fine with them existing. There are plenty of games out there who still allow hacks/exploits and glitches to exist even years after they've been actually released..

i need motivation to start playing again

Hah, paralyzed by fear, I understand what you mean. It really helps if you're not playing alone.
  25. DedicateDdos

    Crossbow being effective

For actual combat purposes against other people yes, however using only a small rusty axe I used to make bows and arrows when I was on vacation, heck I even still have crossbow lying around made of flexible plastic sticks and wood and the bolts fire pretty accurate at around 30m-40m they don't have a pointy end but I can guarantee you (from personal experience) that they pack quite enough power to leave some serious bruises. And that is with very little knowledge about wood crafting and "aerodynamics", you really should go read an SAS survival guide, it'll explain to you how to make a simple hunting bow and if it can kill animals it'll be able to kill humans simple as that. Sure my bow and crossbow weren't dead on accurate, sure I would prefer a gun in pvp but what I'm trying to say here is that you don't have to be a master craftsman to make something that can fire a bolt/arrow and that can actually kill. (I was 14 when I made these things) Heck I remember my makeshift crossbow could fire beyond the 100 meter range although at that point you wouldn't hit anything considering the arch.
