When .52 was in experimental loot spawning was "broken". Any item could spawn anywhere, you could find an ak in a kitchen for example. Imo this is the best counter to server hopping. Make those barracks worthless and only reward those that check everywhere. -
Has a lack of UI actually decreased immersion in DayZ?

In the most recent dev blog they made it pretty clear that the reworked ui/inventory and controls are coming up, but did you see the part about group identification OP? This is where i have to agree with you, talking to someone then 5 min later being unsure if that guy is the same one you were just talking to has been a huge immersion breaker imo. I would prefer if they had some sort of unique face generation system but that is nearly impossible so honestly id be happy with whatever the devs come up with, even nameplates. -

No this only applies to public. Private they can kick whoever they want, password it, theres even a whitelisting tool to auto kick non-friends.

There was no experimental build, but one of the devs, eugen maybe, said to expect a huge battleye improvement soon. So hopefully its that.

Interesting. Have you spoken to any of the current a3 mod teams about using your new maps? Particularly interested in sa-matra wasteland or a3 life. And of course, i would just like to say thank you for your hard work! -
Have you tried any other tools besides fraps? Also if the application in question (dayz) is not detecting/reporting the frames per second itself, then it will probably be inaccurate.

Sounds to me like you were just killed when someone logged in, not a hacker. Most players server hop on low pops, get into position at cherno, nwaf, whatever, then switch to a high pop and fight everyone they see.

The item spawning works ok, but it is very broken at deterring server hoppers. Want to know why nwaf has 3 pairs of boots and a single badly damaged backpack? Some ass hopped to that server the minute it went live after restart and took all the items you wanted. Then another ass came on 2 minutes after and took all the remaining good items. Then another ass got everything halfway useful, then you and your bros showed up. If you go to elektro or cherno you will find all the weapons you want on the corpses.

Most of you already know what it is. Last winter when the standalone was launched there was a ceasefire but most players did not know about it until it was over. Lets fix that for this year? This is not a single server/day event, and is not strictly about celebrating christmas. This is a multiple day ceasefire across all servers. Hopefully this will encourage mature players to fight less, if only for the last week of december.

Based on the listed changes for this patch, id guess its very likely tents will be reset. A lot of work has been done on loot spawning and persistence.

Well i think i know what your problem is then. Try double tapping w then opening your inventory. Last time i tried dayz would override shift sprinting when opening your inventory.Edit: 2x W and shift sprint are both set by default, only 2x W allows you to keep sprinting during the inventory screen.

OP have you tried deleting your cfg file? And do you have inventory bound to something besides tab? Ive never heard of someone having this problem so its got to be something unique to you. Deleting your cfg should fix it, if that doesnt then try verifying cache and finally reinstalling the game.

Well i did say probably. But what are users going to do with steam workshop mods if they dont have access to server files? If it were to be strictly installing mods on rented servers, I dont see how steam workshop would be usable. They would probably need a special mod browsing/installing tool to make that happen. -

Im pretty sure in the rezzed presentation dean said they were planning on steam workshop during beta, so probably around the same time for public server files. -

Very clever. Vault/sprint worked in arma3 every time, so when i got stuck in a rock a few weeks ago playing dayz i immediately tried it. Ended up being launched into the air and died when i met the ground. Thanks for posting this, now i wont be so scared to go near rocks. -
The dayz you know is gone, probably forever. If you do find a decently populated night server, id bet at least 3/4 the players are playing with cranked gamma.

Its not a feature yet, but i hope inventory animations come soon. Equipping a pistol thats in a coat in a vest in a backpack should take longer than .5 seconds.
