With private shards if the whitelist contained only your machine, then it would technically be single player. From what I've seen, they haven't mentioned anything about releasing the server software, which would make anything possible, from 5k vehicle spawns to offline single player. I'm hoping they don't release the server files for a very long time, if at all. But rocket confirmed steam workshop modding is coming. The day that workshop goes live will probably be the day the server list looks identical to the mod.

I keep a 357 and 60rnds, and a green fireaxe in my backpack. I want to ditch the pack and use just a high cap vest and keep the axe on my back.

I think the way it works with a3 is, as they add new mechanics, like weapon sway/shooting from vehicles/more detailed flight controls, they give that to all players for free. While simultaneously they launch a dlc that is basically a training campaign specific to that new mechanic.

This happened to me recently, deleting all battleye files and using the installer from their website fixed it. Hope it works for you.

I looked at some of the other posts in this thread after I typed mine up, a lot are, I shot this at this distance. If you want to talk to people instead of shoot them, I suggest not carrying a rifle. Sure, it has screwed me over plenty of times but the other times it has worked fantastically. One of the times it didn't work out for me... I had just been robbed in elektro (actually made a thread about the robbery some time ago) and found a guy camping the highway. I snuck up behind him, dropped a bunch of stuff and started typing like hey hello buddy, what do you need etc. he looked at me, shot me in the head. Well... I was in msta looting one of the single door houses. I had a fireaxe, no gun. I turned to the door to leave and see a hoxton mask/fireaxe guy standing in the door, blocking my exit with axe drawn. My mic wasn't plugged in, so I quickly start typing, hey what do you need etc. No response. He just stands there staring. So I start dropping some stuff on the ground. He doesn't move. So I step back a bit. He steps into the house, to the side of the door. Starts leaning towards the door, felt like he was taunting me to try to escape. I decided to test my luck, and somehow walk right past the guy. I goto the back yard of the house, and he follows me with his axe drawn still. I'm pretty sure he saw my fireaxe and had psychotic visions of an axe battle in this little back yard. I left the yard and continued looting, trying to find a backpack. About 30 min later I am looting some random long barn, and when I get to the end of it, there he is. Axe drawn. Just... Breathing. I typed to him again, thank you for not killing me and dropped a pristine orange at his feet (lol!) As I left the barn, he followed me out. I picked a random direction and start sprinting to the forest, looking at him over my shoulder. He followed me for awhile and then all of a sudden I lost him in the trees. TLDR: i found a friendly axe murderer

When I first started playing dayz mod I was always solo, then got into groups/clans and now I am back to only playing solo. It helps a lot, you learn at your own pace and aren't rushing around to meet up with people. You and your friends would benefit from a few days playing solo. I imagine you'll all find different things, and when you do group up everyone will bring something new to the table. As others have said, this game is only going to get more difficult over time. If the developers put in casual modes or whatever, I can guarantee you a couple months later the entire community will be gone. I personally think zombies, no matter what game/book/show/film, are the most boring piece of fiction man has ever come up with. I'm only here for the challenges dayz provides. Good luck

Nope just in your clothes for now. I think we will see improved zombies and persistent storage before summer is over.

Great post, I'm sure almost everyone will agree with you. In addition to all of that I would really like to see military bases be the most difficult zones with huge swarms of armored zombies, followed by wilderness with infected bears and wolves. Towns could become completely player controlled, where some towns may kill you at the gate and others will hand you bacon and a gun, and tell you who their enemies are. There is nothing that is actually scary in the towns now anyways, but walking through the woods and military bases is already terrifying but not difficult enough.

More importantly why is that font supported on these forums
