As Legio23 said, nobody can give you an answer to the beans question unless it's from a developer. For "high loot" servers though, that is just to get you to play on their server. Currently every standalone server is identical in how loot is spawned. It is impossible for them to actually make their server have more loot than others.

I had no idea duping items was legitimate. And like an idiot this entire time I've been going around picking up items one at a time, while I could have just duped a grenade and spammed them everywhere I went.

It never happened like that. At one of the recent game conventions he gave an example that some ultra rare helicopter part or something would only exist on a handful of servers. Obviously you have to join those servers to get that specific part, and obviously that translates to "dean told me personally to server hop while at a mil base until I get an akm"

Maybe a lot of people are coming here to see why they can't join any servers?

It is most definitely "wrong." The type of player doing the duping or other soft exploits in general is a piece of shit. No gaming community needs people that don't play fair. Take their money and ban them imo, probably too stupid to learn a lesson but at least it stings a bit. If it were up to me I'd even ban anyone that doesn't have gamma set at default. Thankfully private shards are coming soon so I won't have to see any of the 99% dayz players that are brain dead.

No when you go into some buildings the shadows glitch like crazy. Disappearing and transforming, I think it has something to do with the camera in 3pp. While I'm at it I'll just reinstall the mod and play that instead :P

I am really hoping they fix the interior shadows before .49 goes stable. That was the only problem I had when playing experimental, looked like some kind of New Year's Eve laser show

Haha my stable characters have been alive the entire time as well. I like my hc character more, got the pilot helmet on right now :D I have watched countless fights, but made sure I never was a participant. My experimental characters have died and been wiped dozens of times though :(

I loved watching battle royale from all the different players perspectives, if you held an event like that i would definitely watch at least a few of them. This is coming from someone who has 0 subscriptions :)

It's not even possible currently for the SA. All servers are hosted through providers, and they aren't allowed to modify the server in any way or even ban players. The developers will handle the cheating soon enough. Private shards are also coming in the near future with whitelists. So for them cheating will never be a major problem again

If we're going to assume things based on that short tweet, wouldn't it make more sense to think that he wants to replace some of the more "generic" buildings with ones that are much more advanced? And as someone else mentioned already, the arma engine is not the most sophisticated when it comes to file import. Hopefully they are working to improve this before modding hits, otherwise it will be the same issue as dayz mod. Chernarus map is beautiful, community maps look terrible in comparison. And the only thing I have to say about that turbosquid model is lol.

You can usually find out all about new experimental builds both here in general discussion and in the experimental discussion section. I actually prefer to read about the updates in the experimental discussion section, those guys have tons of fun finding, confirming and testing literally all the additions. Plus they post tons of pics. Hope that helps.

Could you imagine if there were dayz nightly builds like some other early access games have? Look at how populated experimental gets when a new gun is announced. Unless they let players run experimental, or nightly, on their own servers it would be like 200 people playing with new stuff and the rest refreshing their browser to get in. Also I'm a huge coh fan. The op makes some good points, but as most of you know this is not how Bohemia works. Would they benefit from pretending they are blizzard working on sc2? Maybe, but in this reality most of bi's work is experimentation. I dont think I would need to explain why r&d work has fluctuating, unpredictable deadlines, but basically creating and designing something nobody that you know has done before, is very different than counting how many barrels of fuel are in the company's inventory. That being said I have 2 problems with how dayz is being developed. First, the weapons and gear in general. As the op said, why are we getting retextures and hd models in alpha? I would expect the small objects to look closer to minecraft than their current crysis level of detail. Get all the weapons blocked in and functioning, then make it look good and create dozens of animations for it? Second, contrary to the op's opinion I think the loot management stuff should have been done by now. Dayz is looting and shooting at its core, that should be alpha task #1 like gunfights were. I would not take a refund, it is the most interesting current game project and I plan to stick around to see where it goes.
