Why would we not KoS? What's the pont then? I HATE the endless waves of friendlies in experimental, those bastards come around the corner yelling "friendly friendly" and they mean it, and that's the worst part. I mostly can't kill them then. I'm a KoSer but I'm a gentlemen too. I'm looking to kill squads that are up for some trouble, and not whiny sissies like DcPAradoX who's feelings are severly hurt when killed. Where are the damned clans up for a challenge? Since SA killed DayZero, I have to spend my time with you hippies, and kill you while I look for challenging opponents. DayZ was always about PvP and it will always be. The survival parts have always been somewhat weak, and they still are in 0.45. And your feelings shouldn't be hurt when you die. Dying is the most essential part of the game. To me thats clearly the killing-kind-bug. Esp since your legs are broken, its usually related to that. Crouching can be a bad idea in some places, or even switching weapons for that matter, anything that radically changes your hitbox. A couple times now i shouldered my weapon in the military office, top bedroom near a bed there in a certain place. I witnessed as my character slightly glitched into the bed and back in about 1,5 seconds, after he glitched back "You are dead" and the same leg is in pain stuff etc. Imo no one shot you, you died to a bug.

The trick is to not loot until you're geared up to the tits :D It's a waste of time to loot stuff until you have 600 rounds of ammo. Contain your greed, loot less crap and get into action sooner. You need more experience to survive better, so less time spend looting, more time spend fighting. But as HerrJon said, you need allies. Two pairs of eyes see more than just one. Also a buddy can save either your corpse, or just pick up your weapon as the most essential loot off your body, and even has a high chance to take your murderer down, as they might come to loot you. Yesterday I killed a guy who was sneaking around, put 30 M4 shots into him. but he just wouldn't die. I knew it was desync and I was totally gonna die too, even though they guy didn't even shoot in my point of view. It was 5min before serverrestart, and my mate nearby could save my gun and loot some off that guy.

If you haven't found an M4 yet, I'll let you know that they changed it's sway. It's much more accurate when firing continiously now. So when you give out salvos,, every shot might actually hit. In 0.44 only the first one ever hit and the others went astray.

Spawning near balota or NWA is simply unfair. People will get themselves killed until they spawn there. Esp those guys unable to navigate properly to NWA. Since they upgraded balota to a highvalue airfield like NWA, they trapped themselves in allowing spawnpoints only in the North-East. Imo Balota tents need to be removed entirely and then elektro/cherno/kamenka spawns can be back. That should suffice to repopulate the map.

There used to be slugs (green) and pellets (red), but they existed in the game before the shotgun did. Now Slugs are gone since the shotgun was introduced...for whatever reason.

Never trust a gasmask. Also if someone broke out of handcuffs once, you can relog and be free :) I guess you noticed.

Yesterday on experimental I was west of Krastnostav, near some small town in the middle of nowhere. Suddenly I hear music. A hacker flies above me, lands infront of me playing his shitty music, waves a couple times, gets bored and leaves by flying away. I could even check his pulse to get his name, it was Harvey, but unfortunatly you can just change your ingame name anytime, unrelated to steam....seriously...why did BI do that? Playername should equal Steamacc name. And to the "Ive never seen one" crowd. Youve never seen one because you can't diagnose one. Know thy enemy, then you'll see what hacking is and what not.

I cant write the entire knowledge base of dayz here. But first remove postprocessing effects. Your "energized" and "hydrated" status need to be lightgreen, instead of darkgreen. When your bloodlevel reaches max, you get a new status effect called "healing". When your health is maxed then, it states "healthy". Backpacks, weapattachements, holsters, vests and many hats can not be repaired or mended. Also, the quality level of weaponattachements have no effect on their performance. It only matters on some scopes, The longrange scope has no model for damaged scopes, so you can have a badly damaged scope being cristal clear. but an acog scope has a model for badly damaged, and so the glass in it is damaged, impairing your vision. Yup, its rather common on experimental. Save your config. From time to time the config gets resetted.

Experimental is awesome right now. People are roaming around everywhere, not the usual two spots. That enables a better experience alltogether...we need it to hit stable soon...

large lootpiles sometimes kill the servers, but its more likley that someone duped on the server. If some guy dupes it affects the whole server, causing 10sec lags or more, where all you can do is walking around. Esp if you say that you just killed someone, it's possible that their allies started duping. Ive seen someone dupe himself 5 times in a couple seconds, that caused the server to crash. You couldnt do anything on it then. Duping is a critical issue, not only because it gives unfair advantages, but because it affects server performance. I don't get why they did not adress this issue yet. However, looting corpses anyway is currently a huge issue, most of the time you can not see the loot a corpse contains or you can not fire his weapon. Either put something into their containers (=clothing, backpack etc) but not on a specific slot, or put em on and relog. The 1st method only works if there is still atleast one slot open in the target container.

I never backstab or cuss but mostly KoS, unless I think I can compromise someone without endangering myself. My teammates say Im too merciful for dayz, esp for our playstyle. We hunt people, its just what is fun to us. If I'm in a duo or solo, if I can I try to save my victims if they fell unconscious, but in the heat of battle with larger groups it's usually impossible. I feel bad for people I have to kill at the airfield or somewhere far from the coast from time to time. Esp if it's clearly visible that they are noobs. This forum also plays a role. I think it influenced me in a way, in a bad way. I sometimes hesitated when I shouldve instantly shot someone, causing either teammates deaths or mine. The morality talk on this forum is somewhat out of place. I assume that most people want to get into a firefight, which this forum somehow does not agree on usually. But whoever I met wanted some action after a while of looting, and there is nothing wrong with it, and Id be rather killed on sight, than being compromised by someone who tries to humilate me and then shoots me anyway. Morality is something most people throw overboard if they launch this game, why would they bother? They just wanna have some fun and win battles.

walls and buildings are already destructable. Seen a hacker who shotgunned a wall down with infinite ammo in a vid. Also its the arma 2.5 engine, and in arma 2, stuff was destructable (my heli crashed on a building...half the building was gone)

What would you have done if you only had a SKS with 13 shots, and the logoutdancer had a drum.mag AKM with PSO and high capacity vest? I never took proud in it, just stated it as an example of bad logging.

I just killed someone who did the logout dance somewhere in the forest. You even get killed in unexpected places if you dont hide properly upon loging out. I bet that guy thought that the server ate his character, when infact I DID SO!

That makes sense! You are givenb beans. Would be great if they removed the huge weaponhitbox...that caused alot of people to glitch through handrailings to fall off towers...

They already have textchat. Pick up a Radio, put in a battery, use -> , <--- to switch from direct communication to your radio frequency. Type a message like usually. Also, we have diffrent frequencies. And not every kiddie walks around with a Radio, so don't worry guys (who are concerned about sidechat spam). It wont be too bad, but its the best way to not kill on sight probably. because you can communicate from range. Sometimes I did not want to shoot someone, but since he was 200 meters away and getting close was too dangerous, I had to. Now maybe more people will carry the radios around and maybe I can talk to those guys then.
