Fix for the Mosin and all other future bolt action rifles.
Buffaloe replied to franzuu's topic in Suggestions
Good idea. Making it a toggleable option will give people the choice wether they want or don't want it. -
That is definitely true. I killed and got killed this way a lot. I gotta admit, when I first played SA (never played the mod) I was really surprised that 3rd person was so popular. Actually it even surprised me that it was there at all. First person seems much more natural to me (especially in this kind of game), and even if I play on a reg-server I mostly stay in first person. I wonder what makes people prefer 3rd person though. There can't be that many people who suffer of motion sickness :D

Nationalist morons are everywhere. So they will also be found in video games.

Well, when I wrote "old russian stuff" i was refering to the more civilian type of loot, since OP made it sound like automatic weapons are very common among civilians. Of course the military would have more modern weapons. About UN forces and their weapons, sure let them be there. Personally I do think the game would be more immersive if those high grade weapons were kept very rare. I am not a gun nut either so I don't care about some fancy guns a collector would drool over. I don't even know what a Sa-58 whatever is :P edit: Junk loot is a good idea in my opinion. After the apocalypse there should be a lot of stuff lying around. But most of it might be useless. Also, am I the only one who likes the wool coats? I think they look terrific. I agree on the zombie aspect though. It's pretty game breaking at the moment, and i hope for it to be worked on with high priority.

Really? Not enough "cool looking guns" are your biggest concern? This game beeing in alpha means that core features are beeing implemented: Zombie behaviour, Health, survival..... Guns are just the icing on the cake. Plus, I don't even see how there are not enough weapons. They just added 4 new guns in the latest patch, and an Ak and the p38 are anounced. There are plenty of guns (on the way). Also: How are the current guns not "cool" ? The current guns are pretty cool: a bolt action rifle for sniping, a m4 (unrealisticly acting as smg :D ), a shotgun (whats more awesome than a good ol' shotty in a zombie apocalypse?) .22 peashooters... This game is not set in america, but in a country in eastern europe. It makes perfect sense for a majority of the weapons to be old stuff from the russian army. I doubt you would find lots of modern and expensive western guns there. Additionally, older weapons fit the gritty apocalypse setting way better than some shiny fresh-out-of-factory guns.

Are they serious with these new pistol spawns?
Buffaloe replied to Rick1633's topic in General Discussion
OP has a valid point, although he is unable to make a constructive thread out of it. I can't think of a reason why you would add random insults to your post except of beeing simply malicious or immature... -
1 fact 90% of you didn't know before.

Starting of today, I shall call it N15! -
Yep, the police station weapon loot seems pretty awkward. I'd expect pistols (and mags for them, pls :) ) to spawn there, and not military rifles or hunting shotguns.
-
Are the Devs aware of the lack of loot spawning?
Buffaloe replied to nvrsbr's topic in General Discussion
I also noticed this. Places were loot used to spawn were empty. I encountered it rather frequently, especially in the brick bar/café building. -
Pistols too inaccurate as well as m4?!
Buffaloe replied to Sgt.BigBeasty's topic in General Discussion
Well, the dispersion may (hopefully) be just a stop-gap feature. I hope it gets replaced by sway over the developement. However, i think dispersion would still be a cool feature on damaged weapons. -
time to retire the "forward leaping zombies"
Buffaloe replied to pacific_coast's topic in General Discussion
I like the idea of zombies leaping at my throat. I'd prefer it beeing less glitchy and the zombies actually hitting me though :D -
HOW CAN YOU BREAK A GAME AFTER FIXING IT!
Buffaloe replied to lucasmarteney@gmail.com's topic in General Discussion
So, OP wants the zombies to be slow fleshbags he can easily dodge, or if he wishes annihilate? That sounds pretty boring... I suggest you dry you tears, eat a beefsteak, drink a glass of milk and become a man! No, seriously, I think the zombies are on a very good way. They should be strong and fearsome! As soon as the glitching, AI and spawning is fixed, they should get a nice increase in quantity. You shall fear the horde! -
You are disgusting. You must be pretty miserable yourself, when you try to elevate yourself above someone else in such a hideous fashion.

Zombies not dying since i updated! 22/03/2014 + What is your opinion on the speed of zombies being increased!
Buffaloe replied to Aiirr1's topic in General Discussion
Dude, the fact that they are zombies is already unrealistic....I don't see how you can bitch about !ZOMBIES! beeing not realistic -.- Be a man. They die fine to axes, and bullets. The zombies are there to be a challenge, imo they should become even stronger/more. -
Hell yeah, the new Zs are awesome. The animations look good, and finally they aren't that horribly slow anymore. Oh, and i can feel your pain... Having to choose can be pure torture ;(

Buffaloe replied to Aiirr1's topic in General Discussion
I love the new zombie speed. I don't get why people complain about it... You can still easily outrun zombies The new animations and the jumping looks pretty cool too. The problem is just that the zombies sometimes jump through you, without dealng damage. -
OP has some good points. But as it was already said before, gun spawns aren't the only way to "control" firearms. Having guns spawn in conditions other than prestine, and bad condition having strong drawbacks (jamming, low accuracy) would certainly help the situation. Changing ammo spawns is also quite a good idea. If ammo for high tier military weapons was rarer, people had more of an incentive to stick to the lower tier weapons. In the end it could lead to some interesting decisions: "Do i take this badly damaged m4 knowing I may have trouble finding ammo for, or this worn shotgun, whose ammo is way more available." Btw: I like rockets announcement of making guns rarer as soon as we have alternatives. I hope they stick with that!

Nice story mate
-
Yea, items you store in your pockets do seem to get ruined too easily.
-
I don't see how It's bullshit. Realism (yea zombies...) and immersion are important parts of the game. And since food is a cenral aspect to your survival and therefore the game, it should increase, and not hinder your immersion. One or two items like tactical bacon, no probs. But the general eastern europe ambient should be maintained, the new item/textures point into a different direction though. I didn't notice it myself at first, but I think it should not continue this way.
-
Jokes apart though, one or two gag items might be fine, but they shouldn't overdo it. We already got tac-bacon, westernized beans and payday masks ^^, too much would indeed be harmful. Immersion oftenly comes from details... I still think OP is making too big of a drama out of it, but there still is a point though...
-
Hm, I haven't really thought about it quite yet, but you are actually right. The old can fit the setting of the game way better. Of course it's just a really minor issue, but still the devil lies in the details.

^This edit: Oh wait, i know: Muricans!

Yo, Chawktah get yourself some bacon. It will calm you down.

Thanks for the advice OP. It did actually help.
