love it :) But I think apples could be a bit more usual as there are already apple trees (and orchards) in the game. Just do it as with the searching for berries, but in this case you can pick apples. Of course, I do agree, that this is a temporary solution to quiet down a bit of hunger, it's not enough to survive on. If you just keep eating apples you'll start throwing up, making you feel sick and hungry again.

Did you somehow break your leg by stepping off the stairs and did you see no other option than to try and drown yourself? If you've ended up in this situation, you may find that, even though the screen says "you are dead", yo really aren't. It will also show you that you cannot respawn! Kinda sucks, doesn't it? The only way that seems a solution is to login to the server, crawl for a couple of metres, die, restart te server, wait for 5minutes to respawn under water, crawl a few metres, die, restart te server, etc. etc. A long and very, very annoying process, right? THE SOLUTION: Another way that'll still take you a couple of hours, but you won't have to do a darn thing: Login to the server, let your character drown. And then, you play the waiting game. Just stay right where you are, let the screen go black... And after a while the message from the nagging kid will appear: "I'm hungry, I'm thirsty, I'm starving". Well just go right ahead and do that >_< Let the rat bastard starve to death! And, if you're not too far off shore, you even have the possibility that a (this time) friendly zombie will come and pay an underwater visit to finish the job quicker! (Somehow when you're being attacked by a zombie and your screen is still normal, so you aren't dead yet, you don't take drowning damage. Just stand up and wait for the zombie to finish the job. Then the screen should turn black and say "You are unconscious" making it possible to press Esc and Respawn! Hope this helps you guys out might you find yourself in that same or similar position. It takes time, but at least it's less frustrating than the logon-logoff-logon-logoff option. Cheers! Alyngwen_C

That is an even better idea. And so much simpler :P

can we have a more "savaged" environment (like higher grass, bushes, vegetation in general) and more chaos in the cities?

I agree, and even though I think it's a horrible situation that's going on in Ukraine at the moment, I do think the DayZ team can use these pictures to their advantage. (Mind you, not including the fire, but the burned out remains). Ps. Am I the only one who had to think about DayZ when they first showed the pictures of the riots in Kiev? http://global.fncstatic.com/static/managed/img/U.S./Ukraine12514.jpg http://media.naplesnews.com/media/img/photos/2014/01/25/APTOPIX_Ukraine_Protest(17)_t607.jpg http://cdn.breitbart.com/mediaserver/Breitbart/Big-Peace/2014/01/24/ukraine-protest-gas-mask-AFP.jpg http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/worldviews/files/2014/01/2014-01-23T190855Z_01_KIE50_RTRIDSP_3_UKRAINE.jpg http://s1.reutersmedia.net/resources/r/?m=02&d=20140124&t=2&i=832346061&w=&fh=&fw=&ll=600&pl=390&r=CBREA0N0V7700 http://www.rawstory.com/rs/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/A-protester-wearing-a-gas-mask-stands-amid-burnt-tyres-and-garbage-following-clashes-between-pro-EU-demonstrators-and-riot-police-in-Kiev-on-Jan.-23-2014-AFP.jpg http://assets.nydailynews.com/polopoly_fs/1.1587328!/img/httpImage/image.jpg_gen/derivatives/landscape_635/ukraine-eu-protest.jpg I can only imagine that when the apocalypse broke out, people tried everything to save themselves. So, barricades made out of sand bags, office desks, (melted)car tyres, rocks, bricks, sofas, you name it. These would be a good addition to the street scene, I think. Cheers! -
Would be nice if you could be spawned with your mate. You always spawn in some rural area, right? So make the spawn points there so you can't spawn inside the airbase or whatever. You can then send a "teleport" request to your mate (which he has to accept, otherwise you can just send requests to anybody to kill them) and the server will see where is the nearest spawn point near your friend. That's where you'll be spawned. Would that be an idea? If your mate already wandered off you'll still have to find him, but at least you'll be somewhat close-by. Or your friend is just waiting for you at the spawn point where he spawned and you can join up together immediately.

Well, first of all I would like to say: S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Second, I do like the idea of a city with some more "life" to it (I would leave out the radiation thing, though). I've always been interested in the whole Chernobyl disaster and have seen many pictures of Prypiat. Some examples of buildings that imo could be added (if they aren't there yet, sorry haven't found everything yet ;) ): - (Empty) swimming pool - Business centre (+ large squares) - Shopping mall - Amusement park - Train yard - Police station - Prison - Museum - Courthouse - Town hall - Toll booths - Hotels/Hostels - Churches that you can get into - Crypts - Graveyards (pretty cool place for zombie spawn as well :P ) - Parks (with playground) (creaking sounds from a broken swing swaying in the wind is always creepy :P ) - Castle ruins... Just, really, castle ruins. Not just one. Several. - And caves as I stated in one of my own suggestions posts. Cheers!

Bobotype3334: Yes, I do think it should be possible to break down the door. But it might give you enough time to get your weapon ready, quickly gulp down some food and chuck back a can of coke before starting the fight. If there is any. I think it'd be pretty cool if there's someone banging on "your" door to let 'em in while he/she's being followed by zombies. If you don't open the door and the zombies catch that person, they're satisfied and maybe drag off the body? If you keep silent, the zombies might go away. But, if you're screwed... The zombies will start attacking the door, breaking it down, so they can reach you, kill you and start eating your brain :P AnyoneInCherno: Me too :) Maybe like a "capture the flag" thing would be possible. Defend the base. Or maybe even chooses between PvP or PvE?

Asoix: Shame to hear that. Fox Damocles: Your character wouldn't do anything that'd influence your playing at any time. It's completely separate. Your character (name) would just be online. In AoW it'd say your name + NPC, here you could be, for example, wearing a red or blue band around your arm telling ppl you're an NPC. Mullrough: NPC's wouldn't be able to talk, they could just be there for the animation :) Maybe you can't save them, they always die, but it'd be pretty awesome to see a group of zombies munching off another (dead) player :P

OK so one more idea I thought of: A while ago I played Age of Wushu, a F2PMMORPG. In this game they made it possible that Offline players were still "Online", but as NPC's. In Age of Wushu you were supposed to, for example, kidnap those people. But, I thought, if it is possible to implement that same idea into DayZ, the offline players could become survivors that you can save, or turn into cool animations where they're getting ripped apart and eaten by zombies. And, if my other idea of caves/bases would be possible (see topic "just some ideas #7" http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/180272-just-some-ideas/ ) than the offline players could become NPC defenders of the base while they're away! :D Don't know if that's the idea of the game, but thought it was a pretty cool feature in the other game and I think it'd be absolutely awesome in DayZ!! :D Cheers!

Hi guys, I thought I'd just add some ideas here. I accidentally posted these ideas on the feedback forum, so from there they asked my to write them down here: 1. Make it possible to move furniture to "lock" a door from the inside. (Shove a chair against the door for example) 2. Wood piles outside could give you firewood. For example, you can take 2, another stockpile will give you 5, etc. With this firewood (and a lighter) you can make a campfire. 3. Apple trees: Why is it possible to find some rotten apples on the ground in a factory, is it possible to pick berries, but not possible to pick fresh apples from the apple trees? I think that'd be a very good idea to add. 4. Berry picking: - When found berries, don't let your character eat it right away. Place it in inventory and make it possible to "inspect" before eating. In case it's poisonous you won't get instantly ill when your health is already low. - Add berries that are poisonous when raw, but edible when cooked. - Make it possible to cancel the "search" action. I got attacked by a zombie, and even though you don't take damage at that point, it just makes more sense when you can cancel your action and start running like hell. 5. Improve the axe fighting, it's rather clumsy at the moment and 9 out of 10 times you "miss" the zombie. 6. Make it possible to use beds to rest/heal. 7. My personal favorite that I came up with while completely lost in the forest and just wandering around while there was absolutely nothing there ... : Caves. In the caves it could, for example, be possible to establish a community of refugees. Protect the "base" from zombie hordes with your comrades, trade the cans of tuna you found for a rifle and some ammo, or the other way around. It could become a sort of awesome "safe zone", as long as people keep protecting it, of course; This means that the zombies can take over the base if everybody in the camp dies/flees, but also that you can recapture a zombie-infested base with your team. Or take over a base of "enemy players". 8. Add petrol/gasoline for cars. There is little, but with a bit of luck you can fill up a tank (a bit) of a car that's still in so-so condition. 9. And last but not least: Since there are beds, are there also bedrolls/sleeping bags? That'd be a cool feature. Find a house/room, lock the door (by using a chair for example), spread out your bedroll/sleeping bag, turn on the gas lamp or light a fire and sleep to regain strength. Also possible and maybe nice action to add: Knocking on doors. If you see that there's light in a house but the door is locked, knock on the door. The person hiding inside can choose to unlock the door and let you in. You can share the fire, or some food. Or you can leave the bastard standing outside with only a pocketknife to defend himself against the approaching zombie horde. Sooo... Yeah I think those were my ideas so far. Hope you like 'em :-) Let me know what you think (and/or add more ideas).
