Were you in a city? It was probably a trap. Stationary trucks don't run people over. Also, I think OP is the first person I've ever seen use the tab key to properly indent a paragraph on these forums.

Have you contacted Vilayer yet? I don't rent a server currently but that's the first person I'd contact. Hopefully another forum member that does rent a Vilayer server can be of more help.

I craft the vest every once in a while. It has a larger capacity than the UK Assault Vests. Other than that there's really not much reason to craft clothes except to say you've done it.

Did you skin it and make a leather vest? If I chased a cow that far I'd be wearing it later.

I was rolling around ideas on how old guns would work in DayZ. The M1 Garand lying around in the 21st century really doesn't make sense. It would be cool if the devs added some kind of museum to the map. Maybe near Severograd. Have a War section of the museum that has a chance of spawning WWI and WWII weapons. With .45 ACP already in game I wouldn't mind lugging around a Thompson.

I've thought about this myself while I was crafting a leather vest. It's one of those things like cannibalism. I don't morally or ethically care that they added it, but I was a little surprised. Crafting people clothes might take this a step too far and get some attention BI wouldn't want. All I can say as a player of this game is this: If they add it. I'll try it.

14 months away from Standalone? Did you play it the day it was released and immediately stop? Anyway, there will be a lot more zombies in the future. They'll most likely have completely different appearances than now as well. If you're having trouble finding a can opener something new you can do is craft a stone knife. Those usually open up canned food for me over 90% still in the can and they only take up one inventory space. Weapons aren't incredibly hard to find, but if you want a better chance make sure you currently play on persistence off servers. Vanilla mod was always my favorite too. After playing SA for so long it's hard for me to get back into the mod anymore though.

Meant no offense, friend. Unfortunately your post devolved from your original question to a 1PP vs 3PP thread. Tends to happen on these forums. I disagree with 3PP being an exploit, but to each there own.

These threads are always the same. 1PP is the loudly outspoken minority of DayZ players. Just look at all the full 3PP servers to confirm it. I enjoy 1PP regularly, but 3PP will always have its place in my playing time. The thought of getting rid of it, or even changing it from its current form, is just delusional. There are two separate public hives. Play on the one you prefer and leave others preferences out of it.

This is how I envision OP in game from now on.

Cooking the meat cuts down your chances of going crazy but not by much. I remember seeing that uncooked meat gives a 75% chance of contacting Prion disease, while cooked meat has a 50% chance, and burnt meat has a 25% chance. Maybe someone else can shed more light on those numbers. Either way OP you need to die before the crazy laughter ends.
