Been trying to stick to the woods and be friendly but I've still had to kill two players. Musty Gaming seems pretty rowdy so far. I've got zucchini, green pepper, and pumpkin seeds for the party so far. Planning on being there.

I understand where you're coming from. It's just so easily exploitable that I can't ever see it happening. I'm not saying you personally would do this, but you know others would.

This will never happen. With it being connected to the public hive you won't be able to have a loot stash that only you and your friends have access too. It's similar to getting a public server just for loot farming.

I actually have a few people that I became pretty good friends with. One from California here in the US, one from England, and one from Spain. We run a TeamSpeak together now and my Spanish buddy and I stream together. My buddy from Spain and I have a lot of similarities in our likes and personality. We actually have plans to meet up in England and crash at our English buddy's house some day. All from a chance meetup in Novo Tower where we didn't kill each other.

too many "do not join" servers to report
IReadTheAgreement replied to Wookieenoob's topic in General Discussion
Private hive and Public hive are two separate things. I'm honestly curious how you can jump back and forth. Assuming you're right, which you aren't. DayZ servers have two separate prices for Public and Private for a reason. http://dayz.gamepedia.com/Servers#Types_of_Servers -
too many "do not join" servers to report

Because that's not how it works. Private shards are private even without a password. The contract they signed to become a DayZ server provider plays into that. -
OBS // Free way to record or stream in DayZ in 20 steps
IReadTheAgreement replied to Tovervlag's topic in Technology/Programming
When streaming DayZ with OBS .65b remember this: Spent almost an hour trying to figure out why DayZ wouldn't stream but my other games would. EDIT: Already been covered thanks to Tovervlag! -

How are you this dense? There are rules that public server renters have to follow. Part of those rules are not kicking people to loot the server themselves. If they don't want to follow those rules they can put forth an extra $25 and have a private server. There they can do whatever they want. Here are the updated public server hosting rules in PDF: http://dayz.com/files/pdf/Server_Hosting_Rules_Public.pdf There are rules and guidelines PUBLIC server renters MUST follow. You'll probably argue this point but that doesn't matter. That's really the end of it. EDIT: Didn't mean for that to sound as harsh as it did. This video might sum it up better. -
Some quick V3S questions
IReadTheAgreement replied to Mookie (original)'s topic in General Discussion
I've noticed that the cargo V3S's seem a little faster when holding down shift than the regular V3S does. May just be my imagination though. When the server restarts when I'm in a truck I wait at least 5 minutes to log back in. When I log back in I'm usually around where I first entered the truck. I shoot the tires off of every truck I leave behind. Never tried to get back into them so I wouldn't know about that. -
Last night I had a worn M4, pristine BUIS sight, but a damaged MP buttstock. Couldn't hit a guy hiding in the bushes in Lopatino that just shot at, and missed, my friend. Aiming dead center mass at 100m and firing about 20 shots in 3 round bursts. He got hit in the legs once and ran away. I could tell he was hit in the legs because his pants were ruined after I fired. Even with the damaged butt stock that should have been a kill. It's not like I hit the barrel with a rock or anything. Sorry, less than 24 hours ago and I'm still a bit salty about it.

Did this exact thing the other day. Changed my name to IReportedYou. Guy tried to add me on Steam afterwards. Ignored and blocked all communication. It felt glorious. -
We raced And we crashed Friend in the background is unloading his pistol on his flipped over truck.

Standalone updated enough?(since Sep '14)
IReadTheAgreement replied to AtotehZ's topic in General Discussion
I'm going to be completely honest with you OP. DayZ is a really fun game. It's easy to get drawn into it and there is more than enough to keep one entertained. That being said if you aren't ready to deal with bugs it's probably best to wait until full release. Playing 10 minutes in and rage quitting to a bug in early access shows it might not be your bag. -
Prison island is very worth the visit. Make sure to bring a full water bottle and check your corners. The architecture of it provides many spaces to hide from sight.

I feel like I'm always being watched... and I usually am.
IReadTheAgreement replied to Death By Crowbar's topic in General Discussion
This is exactly how I approach towns. Unless I'm camping the military base in Turovo waiting to hold someone up. -
Combat situation discussion: Victim of window height and FPS drop.

One of those "I wish I had a grenade" moments. I agree with Mookie on this one. Best bet is to camp it. -
Ran past a truck and it killed me.
IReadTheAgreement replied to omniwind's topic in General Discussion
Were you in a city? It was probably a trap. Stationary trucks don't run people over. Also, I think OP is the first person I've ever seen use the tab key to properly indent a paragraph on these forums. -
Has player speed been slowed down to realistic levels now?
IReadTheAgreement replied to MagneticToast's topic in General Discussion
I'll definitely give it a watch. South Korea can produce some excellent movies. -
Have you contacted Vilayer yet? I don't rent a server currently but that's the first person I'd contact. Hopefully another forum member that does rent a Vilayer server can be of more help.

I craft the vest every once in a while. It has a larger capacity than the UK Assault Vests. Other than that there's really not much reason to craft clothes except to say you've done it.

what's that zombie chasing? is it a player? i'll chase it.
IReadTheAgreement replied to Wookieenoob's topic in General Discussion
Did you skin it and make a leather vest? If I chased a cow that far I'd be wearing it later. -
I don't plan for things that aren't going to happen. I read this a second time with Yakety Sax playing in my head.

Guns you can't wait to see in DayZ?
IReadTheAgreement replied to The Aquatic Land Walrus's topic in General Discussion
I was rolling around ideas on how old guns would work in DayZ. The M1 Garand lying around in the 21st century really doesn't make sense. It would be cool if the devs added some kind of museum to the map. Maybe near Severograd. Have a War section of the museum that has a chance of spawning WWI and WWII weapons. With .45 ACP already in game I wouldn't mind lugging around a Thompson. -
I've thought about this myself while I was crafting a leather vest. It's one of those things like cannibalism. I don't morally or ethically care that they added it, but I was a little surprised. Crafting people clothes might take this a step too far and get some attention BI wouldn't want. All I can say as a player of this game is this: If they add it. I'll try it.

14 months away from Standalone? Did you play it the day it was released and immediately stop? Anyway, there will be a lot more zombies in the future. They'll most likely have completely different appearances than now as well. If you're having trouble finding a can opener something new you can do is craft a stone knife. Those usually open up canned food for me over 90% still in the can and they only take up one inventory space. Weapons aren't incredibly hard to find, but if you want a better chance make sure you currently play on persistence off servers. Vanilla mod was always my favorite too. After playing SA for so long it's hard for me to get back into the mod anymore though.
