i think a kevlar vest found in some genertic loot spots that would deduct 10-15% of damage dealt from gunfire would be balanaced alongside the bonus of a -25% chance of being knocked out due to gunfire or a faster recovery time would be good. If the prior is taken a military loot version which reduces damage to 20-25% from gunfire and a -50% chance of knock out or recovery time would also be nice. This wouldn't exactly help vs zeds but would give a player a slight edge in terms of ranged combat (Keep in mind, that a headshot is still lethal and body shots would still drain health like mad.)

I like this idea, we could combine 5 bolts into a quiver and still have individual bolts be usable without it due to the ability to load different ammo types. Quivers could offer a faster reload time and the benefit of being 5 bolts in 1 slot, while the single shot 1 inventory bolts would function as they currently do. I agree the crossbow needs a slight damage buff to atleast get 1 shot kills on zeds (just enough, not much more.) and i believe the whole "bolt hit person is spawned in inventory" idea would work wonders, hell even if you only manage to loot a single bolt from a player the simple fact you killed him and got 1 back is a bonus.

I believe the simple solution here is to have silencer parts added as loot you can find and use a "combine" feature to attached the silencer to the weapon (removing the weapon and granting you a silenced type). This would allow weapons in the game that have a silent arma II counterpart to be added without being too frequent (if you make the silencer chance say 2.00% per individual gun). The issue then is making the ammo be silent when fired by said gun, as having a SD clip in a louder weapon is still deafly silent to the zeds.

I recently got my hands on a bizon, I dread the day i'll be forced to use it. 64 round clips will extend my usage of it, but seeing as i only have 2 once 1.7.2 rolls outs and my ammo count is locked in place (Cheers for that :D) It'll be a very hard weapon to retrieve additional clips for without some change to loot tables. I mean sure I could tent it, but I love the damn thing. It's like a uber crossbow!

I walked into a barracks today. It was QUADRUPLE stacked with sandbags, i had to remove 4 sandbags on the same position. The sandbag and barbed wire should be incapable of being placed inside buildings, or around them to prevent blockage. Otherwise I put my vote with the temp removal of the items. -

If you spawn with a gun, a bandit can camp the spawn, pop you before you can react, and simply use your gun's ammo to indefinitely continue slaughtering new players on the shoreline. I have been finding m1911's ammo for it everywhere, it's really not hard to find them if you study towns prior to entering. (seriously, i blew threw 40 clips.) -
I don't know what this post is really about, but assuming it's about not spawning with a gun. - It's not America first of all. - You wake up a shore line, with no information how you arrived. - You are given the tools and ability to outsmart early game enemies, if you can't out smart them before netting a weapon, it's your fault for dying. Seriously just learn to play. Also, Alpha.

food + water on a new spawn basicly gives a bandit the ability to sit on the shore line indefinitely (save for ammo.). -

Server fps is at 4. The script for restarting the server really needs to be reactivated, these are definitely my favorite servers (being Canadian and all) really hope it gets fixed asap, eager to loot and explore more :(. -

I agree fully with this. The crowbar and hatchet in real life can easily be one handed, and proped on a belt. To make pistols more attractive they could let people combine flashlights with them to offer light, as they can still use a pistol as well as a light at the same time realisticly, while melee weapons would require 2 hands and thus be silent, but offer no light in times of need. -
People spawning anywhere destroys tactical play

I think this issue will persist until characters are bound to servers. Even if the player logs out on the outskirts of town, they'll do it just in distance to log back into another server and those people looting the building? death upon exiting. Although I may be wrong. You can't restrict where people can log out to continue their progress because you then offer a large chance that if someone's internet farts out for even a minute, they would lose their stuff unfairly. Spawning into a room making a loud noise? What if the people in the server process this before the player loading in does? it causes that player to be in harms way unfairly to both zeds and other players. (especially if they are just reconnecting after say, internet hiccup.) Disconnecting leaving the player in game for 5-30 seconds after? Once again, internet hiccup could get this player killed by no fault of his own (other then having a shitty isp.) Disconnection leaving a player in the game for 5-30 seconds after getting some damage dealt to them sounds more fair if this suggestion would ever be done, it effectively is an anti-escape feature then. -

I think morphine should spawn in super markets with a low, but significant chance, as this seems like a logical place for previous survivors to have stored loot/made a barricade (obviously failing in the end.) Right now it's kinda bad how the hospitals are spread out. Since the only hospitals are in also the largest loot spots in the game, bandits swarm these locations and anyone looking to get some additional supplies generally ends up swiss cheese. I think we just need more locations to find the odd medical supplies with hospitals being the best. -

i'm only guilty of shooting people in the leg to make them take the hoard agro i had (thanks to the horrible audibility in 1.7.1-1.7.1.4). I thank everyone who took a bullet to the knee for me. -
running between 2 smaller towns is also much safer then running into either of the larger towns. By smaller towns I mean ones that atleast have a supermarket, pub or church anything else is more of a pit spot looting spot on the road to somewhere else.

I made a suggestion that our characters should be server bound. so each server would have a different character, this would prevent people server hoping to say, grab loot from the hanger, less magical pvp from it would occur. While in this scenario of people logging back in would only slightly effected (You could still log off + on in that loot spot and get the drop on someone). Couple this idea with a 15-30 second Disconnect body and you'd probably have less people wanting to risk logging off in a high player loot zone (as they could get poped after dcing in a hanger, or slapped to death by zeds.) -

Welp this change has made my survival rating drop through the roof. I was always hiking in search of animals to feast on , used my trusty hatchet and matches to make myself a camp fire, and with this new patch seems i'll either need to make terrible investment in hauling wood about or the hatchet.. and since the hatchet takes 10 slots, it saddens me. I think the hatchet should have an option to be put into the tool slot, removing it from play as a weapon and back to a tool, that or lowering it to a small arm slot weapon. If not I guess I have to kiss 2 inventory slots goodbye to my poor alice pack :C.

Why should infected people be slower? Although I think everyone can agree the respawn times right now are very wonky. -
this horrifies me more then bandits or infected with sniper vision.

it has been relootable. sometimes the bolt will glitch into the ground and disappear, aim for head for best results.
