    Addressing Current Game Issues

    A general question before I file a bug report. Sometimes I get kicked for high ping, although the average ping is under 30 ms. Is it possible that the auto kick mechanism is to sensitive and immediatelly kicks players when they have a few short time lag spikes?

    The horror aspect of Dayz

    When more human like behaviors are added to the zombie ai, we might see grouping zombies, suffering zombies, scared running away zombies, sneaking zombies, different callouts and gestures maybe emotions ported by sound or facial expressions. Zombies which hit the doors to get in and zombies who can climb and actually open doors, zombies who push, grab or pull away other ones or you, etc. Have you seen the video with the wolfpack? Well stuff like this can be added to Zombies, too ;) All of this can make zombies much more scary then any gore effect can.

    You should get support at the homepage of the dayzlauncher. To play DayZ you don't need any arma stuff and there are no mods, it is standalone. If you are talking aboute the DayZ mod for arma II, read this

I have yet to see a kicking server beeing blacklisted on the hive or shut down. It is their game and they don't check it. Like they don't care if you report a problem with Battleye block legit programs like MSI Gaming app, they say contact Battleye. It is their Anti-Cheat, so they should care about it: Costumer Support == Zero Points.

    There is a problem with item disapearing, when it was stuck in inventory and not showing up in vincinity although it is in front of you on the ground and in your inventory at the same time. After reloging the item is nowehere to see. I hope you get logs on this. Not ready for stable, yet.

    I like the performance gain. Playing with quite high fps on my old machine makes me, nearly, feel I control a ut 2004 character. Keep working on the optimisation. Less clunkiness FTW! I hope fore better responsiveness every exp update. There was still a annoying bug where the player stuck-desynced server-side outside of a doorway when he goes into a building, mostly at small log cabins and wooden houses and with houses narrow entrances. Is this fixed now?

    I have a questions to the Devs: Can you set up a private hive server, for testing, too? So problems with them can be discovered?

    I prefer the silence. I think they are very very busy then. Easter holidays. I hope they are going to keep communicating more over the official Web-page and forums, instead of 3rd websites.
  11. On some low population servers I did not see any food respawning, yet. In many towns and villages. I don't know if it is bugged or a design error. The System needs to check more in deep what needs to be respawned by categories. It does not make much sense, that nothing is respawning because a certain trashhold of overall item numbers hasn't been reached.

    A Zombie seems not to lose LOS once aggroed, yet. Can you confirm? DE-01 is restarting every 15-20 minutes. Is this intended or a crash BUG?

    Better fps in towns for me. Especially because very low object detail has a real impact for my game now. Maybe it is reducing object view distance, too now \O/ . Weird is that enabling DSR over n-vidia drivers reduces mouse lag and seems to increase fps, too somehow. Has anyone noticed better fps, too now? @Eugen: Can we please have one dedicated 1.person server for eu? The US North east is running on the 3. person hive. Pretty pretty, pleasy :--)

    I'have hunted chickens with a Trumpet, today. It was fun. Hitting a deer makes it run away in panic :o Also a fps increase for me, possibly better server fps.

    Cows seem to use the Navmesh now. One cow got stuck for a while running in circles around me and on a berry bush :P Punching it had no effect. No MoooOOO :(

  17. In case of game design this may lead even more towards KOS. Because it is much easier to kill players with that kind of simulation and players will use this. Unarmed players will have nearly zero chance to escape if they were hit once and any armed guy will be even more of a threat. With adding the skeleton and the physics which comes with that, a lot of possibilities get available like Pushing, grabbing holding pulling, draging players and knockdown effect from melee attacks and so on. The question is what can be forced on players and what action needs to be consensual. And Physics must actually work with the environment. No pushing players through solid walls.... I think it is easy for the devs to add such a knockdown animation to test this out and how gameplay changes with that. If something is fun to play or not is really hard to predict or create.

    DayZ going to be 64-bit

    They are doing 64-bit server for now. Which should help with server fps, and even more if possibly less required harddisk writing can be done when the database runs 64-bit aswell. Having a 64 bit client would be awesome. When loading the whole game natively and into memory and run it from there, would be great. Even more great when videomemory past 2 gig can be used that way aswell. This reminds me of fluid game play on memory upgraded amiga 500 running games greatly once loaded from the floppy disks :)

    SSD smashing the fps in cities

    When your game stutters, you have like 1 fps for the time it stutters. That is probably why people say they have more fps with ssd. People, who have trouble with hdd and stuttering in towns can try to change the video memory for textures in the dayz graphics setting from automatic to a lower setting, which should be smaller or equal the real physical memory on their video card. This helped me with frequent stuttering and the resulting client unresponsivity during that time.

    Exactly everthing is taken or must be found with searching for it several hours and this is not a good testing environment. Devs must be lucky if someone reports real bugs at all.

    There are Berry bushes but you can't see the Berries on them, not see if they ae picked or not. More world dynamics, please.
  23. Server Browser: Drag and drop functionality to add to favorites tab, in all tabs, remote tab, too. Showing offline server in Favorites, too Editing of Favorites horizontal ui element for Filters: There is no need to have a seperate window. Ingame: compact mode for inventory with small icons and text, full drag and drop functionality, Hotbar: Items by ID, not by item type. If your Database does not have unique id for any items and stacks, you shoulde really do that, to prevent duping and invalid attributes. Painting an item for e.g should keep its unique item id on ther server and only change the attribute for color, so your hotbar item stays. . Database Design and Integrity: Database guard which checks for valid object attributes on server AND client. Animations: Jumping is delayed for me by 1 second before the animation starts. In general: faster Animations and response for character moving is needed, sperate keys for jumping and vaulting. Zombie ai: I don't want to post my Idea in Public, Whom of the devs can I write a PM?
