So ive had this game nearly 2 weeks but spent far longer reading news and forums. Once i got the game i decided id try and play as myself and react as I would if i were in this situation. So to this end ive avoided KOS and killing full stop, Ive avoided combat ive talked way out of situations iv injured and dearmed players but avoided killing. Ive even got to the stage now if i see guys running around seemingly unarmed Ill offer them a weapon but will leave it a distance away then disappear. Ive even started loading weapons i find but dont need and leaving them for others to find loaded and ready to go. So to my first kill. I finally found an airbase, not sure where i am i have avoided maps etc. but it has 2 jails 2 hangars and one radio tower. Id found it unlooted and had picked up some nice clothing and was erring on wether to change my amphibia.22 for an 1911 again. Ive been in full civvy gear so far cap rider jacket cargos, fireaxe sporter and amphibia. had mags for both so hadmt changed. Anyway i was up in the radio tower when i hear a loud reload sound as someone spawns right next to me. Rather then pull my gun out i wait by top of stairs and try to engage in dialogue, when the guys ignores my voice and goes straight for gun i book it downstairs being followed by m4 fire. I make it out of building and bring out pistol waiting in a bush, guy comes running out of building straight into my sights, as ive got the drop i decide to wound not kill so the legs and arms get hit and he goes down and crawls back into building. At this point i decide to make my escape and leave him injured i got as far as the furthest hangar away from tower when the m4 fire starts again. I ducked into hangar followed by a few zeds. after taking care of them i expect to find the guy will have flanked me, i edge to door and find hes laying prone on tower balcony. he opens fire as soon as i peek out.deciding that after 5 days this life is coming to an end i get out the sporter thinking its to far away to hit him anyway. go down sights and strafe out aiming at him, full auto fire from him and 3 semi shots from me and the shots stop. im completely untouched and hes not firing or moving. i decide time to head up the tower and finish things either way, sure enough hes dead with all his gear intact apart from an ammo box which was ruined. checking through his gear hes got all the finest pristine miltary clothes and weapons, fully modded m4 and about 400 rounds of ammo and mags to spare. As im looting him i feel a real sense of guilt even though it was self defence id still killed my first player. Suddenly all that military stuff and that nice shiny m4 lost its appeal fast. Needless to say that apart from a canteen of water and a pristine can opener and sunglasses theres going to be a very happy looter first person who goes up that tower. I do hope whoever finds that loot heeds my note in the backpack. "sometimes KOS dosnt pay off" Edit it appears im at Krasnostav airport, still not 100% on that

The warning is there for all to see, TBH ive played full releases that are buggier, ive had one charcter wipe and one ladder death (just got my first m4 never fired, that deah hurt lol) apart from that nothing, only grumble i have is a slight lack of content but i expected that and am looking forward to the updates coming. This game is truly unique as its what your willing to put into that affects what gameplay you get. If your rush to an airfield grab gear then shoot everyone on site youll get bored, Me im being a do gooder still, only killed one player still in self defence i spend my days looting leaving little care packages for randoms to find and helping as many new spawns as i can, as soon as there up and running im gone on to the next

When it says you are dead try waiting a while see if automatically starts a freshspawn for 30 secs or so rather than exiting.which server are you playing on? becareful when running around, rule of thumb avoid any drops waist high or above as that usually equals broken leg

My opinion you pay for a private server out of your own cash its your own server to do what you want with it. Private servers are easy to spot and avoid. if you want to pay whatever a month to be able to loot best gear solo then so be it, Im suprised a company is biting the hands that feed it and punishing private server hosts at all

Damn i thought it was all cool and melodramitic lol, yeah i could barely breath was most scary and intense thing ive had in game. i really had given up thinking it was my time and just ran out firing thinking of an OK corral kinda death. I dont think it was real life guilt but in game ive worked pretty hard to not be in a position i had to kill. Also abit was the futility of it, If hed of killed me and looted I think hed of pissed himself at the poor quality of gear I use and still do. Ive now started doing care packages in random places usually small backpack food water and whatever weapon i can carry in backpack. so if you ever see a guy with black fireaxe sporter rider jacket cap sunglasses and urban camos, leave a building, give it a minute to be safe and check the building you may get a nice starter set out of it.

On start up screen theres 5 options change server is one of them, look for a fresh spawned low populace server click on it then at bottom of screen click connect. im a noob on here myself if you want to add my steam ill join you for abit, i have a spare 1911 pistol and ammo and we'll have a loot

First time playing spend few hours kitting out get an shs get an M9 plenty of food just having a wondered KOS out of blue. Oh well to be expected. Spawn on beach drink bit of coffee and guy runs up and punches me lol

The coast and local buildings always get looted as soon as a server starts. i tend to run uphill and get good look at where i am. then target towns that look untouched, ie closed doors zombies present. Learn the look of buildings too certain ones spawn better gear, police station,fire,school hospital. police station is the easiest to spot as it has almost a lighthouse look on the roof. Youll lmost certainly find drink food and a weapon in a police station.

Tbh ive enjoyed kitting out and exploring different towns etc, so i dont mind the deaths ive had but itd be better game with a little interaction and creativity. I decide to rob a guy who went prone and didnt try to attack. i didnt even have bullets and was quite a tense experience. turns out he had 7.62 rounds i needed so i put a stash of food meds and water in his backpack and an unloaded magnum i had spare. guess that makes me a good bandit that life lol

My apologies i was aiming to engage a convo about pointless play. Im not sure if im unique or just getting bad servers but ive played nearly 20hours in last 3 days and not a single player ive met has spoken a single word,even when ive had the drop on unarmed guys called out friendly they try rush me with fists. i thought theyd be alot more interaction between players. I know the first thing id do when unarmed and alone would be to seek allies.

Nope i came to with shirt etc still intact he just took flashlight battery. Caught up with him later as he got swarmed and killed. i was nicely armed up but for some reason didnt feel like helping him lol

Lol i was far inland first KOS death, The beach incident just tickled me as i cant figure out why youd take it upon yourself to knock someone out to steal nothing

Funny part was when I spawned with nothing on me someone still attacked. For no gain just didnt make sense. Firat guy at least he may have wanted something I had but 2nd guy was just pointless

As the new guy ill be the first to point back to the ALPHA arguement but here seems to fit, Once theres more zombies firing a loud shot will be a considered action, Ithink most guys KOS either because they genuinely enjoy being a @ss or there simply bored and trying to have fun, sadly as it stands that fun comes at the expense of others but at the minute thats the name of game

Laptop Windows 7 Processor: Intel Core i5-3210M 2,5 GHz Memory: 8 GB Video card: Intel HD Graphics 4000 (This is what I doubt the most.. reading minimum spec seems like youd possible be able to run but dont expect perfect perfomance. Just on a side note thanks to the guys who offered advice and help in here, i went with the I5 model the company i bought from even threw in a better PSU and a extra cooling fan after i spoke on the phone and gave my back story. So the system i bought cost £595 with a 3year all parts guarantee. I havent got steam or dayz yet but ive had titanfall and BF4 running on ultra piece of cake, the switch from console gaming to PC gaming i think will stick now i cant believe the gulf in performance. on a side note the company I used is based in UK called freshtechsolutions, id thoroughly recommend them for any noobs looking for a PC for Dayz, cant comment on the longterm perfomance of PC yet but there customer service and delivery time has been amazing and the PC and the price seems to be incredible
