That is my point too...KoSers plays with a zero risk factor, by killing everything you see you chances of doing well in the game is practically 100%... which means that every other way to play the game is stupid, or "inefficient". That reduces your options to only one... KILL or be killed. Which means that you can only play the game ONE WAY.
-
Not exactly...being hostile is the "easy" way out.. Killing someone on sight reduces the chances of getting yourself killed by 100% (Zero Risk), being neutral or friendly increases the chances that you will be kill by 60%. (High Risk). So the only viable option is to kill everything.

Is a good idea... but i fail to see what is the point of it.. a simple Fuel gauge will do the job just the same, without the extra headache for the Devs.
-
I never use my Forum name in the game... i will probably get KoS every 2 minutes....
-
Punishing people for playing alone isn't the solution...but punishing people for being jerks and idiots it is. Of course, the people that is enjoying this simple shooter mechanics, will tell you that is nothing wrong with it, to the very day when all the servers shut down and DayZ is removed from Steam.

I always been wondering what people truly thinks about this new "sandbox" concept, I already seen two companies trying this... CCP and now Bohemia Interactive. This idea of making a game in which you can do whatever you want, with as little rules as possible..seems to be a restrictive, incomplete and undeveloped concept. It feels like developers are using this idea as an excuse to skip things like, Story, Cut scenes, Missions, Plot, Skills tress, Animations, Voice Overs, Dialogues, AI development... in other words... about 60-70% of a normal game development. So...is this "new" concept revolutionary... or an "Undeveloped" concept .. or do i dare to say... "lazy". ?

Very self explanatory... really.. Bulletin Boards in each town in which people can generate their own missions. - Looking for car parts. Reward 50 M4 bullets. Deliver to X house at X time. Come alone or Die.
-
Also when we have more Zombies..you can generate missions like clearing a town out of Zombies.. or an specific area. It will give people a direction to follow and an objective.
-
Well.. that will also be part of the mission, can you trust that person ? or should you kill that person just in case ? Either way still is a "mission", and will give you something to do.

What Is Your Favorite Current Food In Game?
Cpanther replied to Deathlove's topic in General Discussion
Chocolate ...oh, wait... they don't have chocolate in Russia. :P -
Similar.. but only for missions. Like...; - Looking for people to take over X base, reward a M4 with ammo once the mission is completed. Interested people come to X place at sunset, gear not provided.
-
Oh... are you saying that we need more things to do ?.. you know... "fun" things you do is most games ?..Improving you skills ...finding a mission to do.. maybe a quest ? Could it be that you and I finally agree on something ?... could.. it .. be...or i dreaming....?

But EvE online "was" amazing back in the days.. and was mostly because the scope of the game, huge universe, massive open world, great graphics.. blah, blah, blah....but this days, not so much..EvE have practically zero new player retention, and the game is extremely out of date with the game mechanics... EvE isn't a great game any more..just a "shadow" of another era. What worries me is that BI is using EvE as a reference point...and all that ideas and concepts are over 10 years old.

You guys shock ? I already knew it will be chaos to have that many players in one server with the current format of the game. More players only means that it happens faster..but it won't change what people do. .. and that is Experimental..i'm sure the game will be unplayable when 75 players servers hits Stable.
-
This game looks so much like Freelancer, and that was actually a great multi-player game...damn...I didn't knew that it was the same guy making this game...this one is going to be great.
-
Funny you used Skyrim as an example...because that is a game that will probably take you a life time to explore all the possibilities, which is why still is one of the most played games in Steam... even that it is only "single" player. And don't even get me started with Morrowind...which to me is one of the best Sandbox games ever made.
-
Because is no reason to be alive....in fact, i do kill myself sometimes because i'm bore. If only life was that simple... you hate you life, just kill yourself and start a new one.
-
Yeah, i heard about that game.. and to me that is the "Evolution" of sandbox games. Adding stuff that "enrich" the experience.. without holding people hands or forcing people to play in a specific way... but.. if Skills Trees makes things better, they should be added..so yeah, i think the concept needs more evolution, and innovative ideas.. not the same old ones.
-
The game that is an anti-game.. but it sells as a game, to gamers... that are not gamers but....are... sorry... i lose the plot. Is like someone selling you a car with only two wheels, a washing machine motor and without bodywork... and then calling it the "Anti-Car". No one will buy such a car, and people wont think is "Innovative".
-
But, one thing is "thinking" what to do... the other thing is having nothing to do...because you are playing a game where nothing never happens. Real life will be boring if "nothing" never happens... a game is the same.. actually... 100 times worst. The idea that the end of the world will be "boring", and you will have to find things to do to entertain yourself.. is... well.....
-
Fair enough.. and i also hate that too by the way. But... players "thinking" by themselves to find an objective, shouldn't mean that it isn't and objective to be found..and that is where i think the concept is flawed. You can remove the arrows pointing to the next objective.. without removing the objective.
-
To me is a very black and white thing, either you find the concept innovative, or something that needs more development and evolution.
-
Antropia, never heard of it, and EvE online... well, even that it is "interesting" it feels like is a bit "out of date". With so much technology available, games like DayZ or EvE feels a bit like dinosaur...this sandbox concept feels "undeveloped", and not up to date. So much that it could be done to "enrich" the Sandbox.. and Developers seems to be stuck in the past.
-
They aren't...but this type of sandbox games are. I'm no sure if "less" really is more... because less, really feels like less to me.
