That might be good, but you should address your question to the persons whom know about this and they have better things to do to hit their deadlines.

Fully geared means to me having warm and dry clothes, food, something to drink, preferably a canteen, a can opener, something to pew pew, something to bash, preferably an axe, ammo to wreck gas stations and a nice hat. Oh, and do not forget the press vest. Had my previous pristine one for at least 6 months.

I can't see a bayonet on your Mosin.

DayZ Graphics Settings [FPS Boost]
umberfive replied to jack0lanturn's topic in New Player Discussion
I experimented a lot with my settings. I tried Full-HD with AA on, 4k with downsampling and AA off, changed texture quality, turned post processing on and off, but in the end I like DayZ more for the looks than for FPS. In the end I tried Raptr from AMD and it gave me very good visuals and reasonable FPS. I get 35-50 in the wild and 20-25 in cities. But sometimes for unknown reasons the FPS drops to 10-15. If you are unsure about the settings, you might give Raptr a try. Also their recording feature has a lower impact on my frame rates than Afterburner. -
Also, what is Berizeno? The Balota camp has been moved to the north, if I am not wrong.
-
I think they implemented the blood group system. Therefore we have the blood sample kit. If you give another player the wrong blood group, he dies shortly after. In real life the blood thickens.
-
Yeah, I also thought he wanted to hug a combat logger. Well, not that we shouldn't hug them for being so nice and giving us their loot.
-
Well, it is just my opinion, but I think your outfit looks rather stupid. Bandit? Don't know about bandits. Bandits don't necessarily wear payday masks, but the payday mask looks stupid and totally misplaced in this game.
-
A bug? That's a feature. Every time I come along a gas station, I blow them up. It became easier. 2 or 3 shots from the Mosin are enough.
-
Sorry for not knowing that those masks spawn there. Mostly M4s and their attachments spawn there. How about a sewing kit then?
-
That is what the weapon cleaning kit is for. If you are so picky, you will not survive for long.

Pants on the ground. No, Pants in the air!
umberfive replied to Zardoz75's topic in General Discussion
Items within your arms reach can be get when you face them with the white/gray dot and press "f". But you need to have enough space in your inventory in case of clothes or free hands for many other items. -
[Maintenance] All Servers Are Down?!
umberfive replied to kylefinlayson1997's topic in General Discussion
Maintenance aside, which should be obvious because it is wednesday. Is it really true that they push 0.49? -
Removing the military style of the NEAF was a good idea in my opinion. Yet two military airfields are still too much for such a small map. Not really small, but the concentration of military buildings is too much. Completely removing the military part isn't good and wouldn't add to the background story. Where there is an uncontrollable infectious disease, there should always be a military intervention. So 'murica told us.

Do you carry a handgun when you have an automatic rifle?
umberfive replied to roguetrooper's topic in General Discussion
I used to carry a .357 until it got ruined by a zed. Now I carry my trusty mosin Elisabeth and an AK101. -
Third Person View should be Over-the-Shoulder, NOT a bird's eye view.
umberfive replied to Rags!'s topic in General Discussion
I think the third person view is good as it is. An over-the-shoulder view is, why I played only 3 minutes of Mass Effect in my whole life. Personally I prefer to play first person, but my friends like third person more. But to stay on topic, I think they shouldn't change it. Although the round view fives some advantage, the aiming in third person is so bad, that it is okay in the whole. That is my opinion and if anyone thinks different, that is okay for me. -
To be fair, you wouldn't have had any chance. Most people would have logged. Those vests probably were from them. And it is not wrong to be wary against bigger groups with the same outfit. Especially for some kinds of gear the probability to find it is very low. My intention wasn't to criticize your play style and you admitted yourself, that you logged. At least you did not torture anyone and bragged about it in the forums. You have my beans, Sir.
-
It is logging. Sorry, I am a little bit conventional in those things. I expected that they had been outrun or in the part where you ran between them, they shot themselves. That would have been awesome. But you are right on the "elite".
-
This is not surviving, Sir.
-
I miss the "epic" here, like jumping from a silo, swinging the axe and killing 3 M4 carriers at once.
-
You forgot the fog. Well, global warming has even hit Chernarus. Deal with it.
-
[Be nice] How do you torture people in days?
umberfive replied to HeroAtDay BanditAtNight's topic in General Discussion
I do not torture and everybody who says he does it, just because it is possible, has some serious mental problems in my opinion. It is obvious that the torture in DayZ doesn't have or shouldn't have any impact on the other players psyche, but what we do defines our personality. And it is more obvious that such a thread would start a hot discussion. -
Also check the logs. I experienced freezes of 1-2 seconds not long ago until I realized that my second hard drive had problems and was near death.

An exploit is the misusage of a feature to reach otherwise inaccessible function. A bug is an error in program code which makes that exploit possible. But it is not limited to software. A hack is the discovery of such bugs and the corresponding exploits. A hacker isn't necessarily the person who cracks the system. Please correct me, if I am wrong on any part.

I do not know about Windows 8.1, because my HDD with it had some problems and I unplugged it before it totally crashes, but my brother-in-law had the same problem last evening. He uses Windows 7 Ultimate and his problem has been solved when he deactivated MSI Afterburner. I do not know if that helps, but look for other programs that also use the directx interface and could conflict with the game.
