Oh, the shipwreck. It is the place of good memories for me. Found a beetle bug back pack and food there when I played DayZ for the first time. Man, I was starved. Aside from that, I never really glitched there. Once I was kicked from the server when I looted the shipwreck. When I signed in the other day I found myself in the water behind the ship. On one occasion when I searched the bow, the textures were gone and I stood in the middle of the air. It is also the place of the flying pants.

I have a Mosin with LRS + Compensator + Bipod + Bayonett in camouflage and wonder when I can use it for melee. That would be great.

No Screenshot, no proof. Yet the OP has a point. What if the Game really screws up? I think there should be a possibility to opt out even without the help of the devs. But there should be some kind of penalty because it is a survival game.

Well, your CPU does not fall far behind mine. Single core performance should be better. Optimizations are all done? Is the lag visible or are you just assuming this on the FPS displayed? I have visited the city and it was smooth as butter.

There are rules. And when these are abused, then the Server should ne reported. I reported one this week. The Server has been restarted ans after the restart it was locked and only one player was connected. We should all rent our own Server so that we can loot to our hearts content. Then we can go into the fight. I can understand why the OP took the time and reported the Server.

Technically spoken, it is not possible to change the visual appearance of an item so that other player can see it too. Only devs can change the visual appearance and that would be distributed through steam. It is like back when we played UT. Player skins were only visible for the players who had the skin installed. Otherwise it displayed the default skin for the given model. If I guess it correct, then the only data exchanged by the server and client are player, item and AI (Zed/animal) position and movement data. Maybe wind direction for clouds and cloud positioning. The time obviously. Item skins would make too much overhead in the exchanged data. Since Zeds, how I read, are rendered within 1000 meters, so should also be player and items. So all this data is on the client or went through the NIC. And when I see, what is possible, I assume that the data is not encrypted yet. I hope it is only for debugging purposes and will be changed in beta.

Yes! There are definitely too many military bases, even if they are small. What would be cool, is a big civil airport.

There are douches who just wait on the known spawn points to kill fresh-spawns. You just have to have too much time on your hand to sit idle and wait for a fresh-spawn. There is nothing to gain, but some people are like this.

M4s are rare? This explains why I was shot in the back. Never seen a crash site yet. And I think I never want to have a M4 again.

Most Server have 12 o'clock as starting time. But the sun always sets in the west for me.

Never take a friendly stance towards fresh-spawns. They are the biggest threat as they have nothing to loose. I am against fresh-spawn hunting on the coast line. But if one becomes a threat, I will kill him. My first kill was to avenge my comrade. They shot first, so I do not feel any remorse.

I played on a server with about 20 players. It was half full. No problems. Then it restarted and all looter logged in. The servers 40 slots were full and the rubber-banding began. Almost got killed by a fresh-spawn that punched the air 10 meters away from me.
