Was walking around with my bro-in-law. He is younger than me and still a phone addict. Don't understand why people cling to their phones to exchange messages. Just call that b**** for a minute beforehand. We got no time. Time is loot. Okay, that went off-topic. So we were walking around and suddenly he stops in the middle of Chernogorsk, needs to check his phone. I said to him that we cannot stay here and bang I am dead.

Your writing style is hilarious. I love it! -
What is the rarest item you have ever found in DayZ?
umberfive replied to trimpampano's topic in General Discussion
A Longhorn pistol. Even the anti-stab vest or press vest haven't been this rare for me. -
Is there a version of this video without music?

Died in a mass killing in Berezino. It is not good to meet many other players at the same time on the same place. One has a mosin, one a SKS and the other a MP5 and everyone just wants to live and has to kill the others to do so. Also, you spawn nearby and did not learn your lesson. So you go there again to punch the other who was looting your body. Just to get punched again by them because they also spawn nearby and are also as much as stupid as yourself. This is, why DayZ is so much fun, ridiculous, but fun.

Somehow I expected a real unicorn, like an easter egg, but it was only a M4. Totally disappointing.

Please fix the Performance. Massive FPS-drop in cities.
umberfive replied to thechris80's topic in Troubleshooting
I also think that they should fix the fps problem, but there is still not the time for it. That will be done in the next development stage. First the focus is on implementing all features and getting them to work together. After that has been solved they should work on the performance. 10 fps in cities, is sometimes disturbing but that is how it is for now. I do not understand all the comparisons with h1z1. Maybe that will also be a good game, but for now it doesn't really exist for the broad masses to access. Once it gets to early access, we can compare. For now there are only promises what it should be. We compare seeds to green tomatoes. -
This won't prevent any "crying posts", how you called them. Most people in this forum should be aware that a patch can cripple a feature introduced many patches before. That is why this piece of software, sometimes called game, is still in development. But on the other hand, it is to find those bugs in development. It always depends on how you write things. "I want to warn my fellow gamers... already made a bug report about it" or "this happened again, the game ruined my life, I quit." No word about, if he already reported the bug. Bugs that are reported more often by different people, seem to be more serious and are likely to be fixed sooner if possible, while bugs that are only reported by one person, could also be from mishandling. Although it is hard sometimes, I try to avoid those posts now. And I can only give you the advice to do so too.

This is why you always press "ESC" before ALT-TABing

"Friendly fire" cannot be translated into my native language, because it doesn't exist here. Must be an invention of 'Murica. Just kidding. At least your teammates still lived as it looks in the video. Last time I accidently shot my teammate, it happened to be in the head. I still apologize for it every time we play together. -
Such a nice sky. :)

The 'friendly' pose and how I am dealing with bandits
umberfive replied to gianni001's topic in General Discussion
You should just admit, while there are no rules and no judge, you do not care. You have the right to have your gun out for self protection? So do I. I am a thread to you? So are you to me. And of course, when I enter a city or village, I draw my gun as you do too. When I see you, I let you go, but I observe you from afar. Many people I encountered, just shot at me. No try to converse. I didn't even see them. I didn't know about them. I wouldn't cared. If that happens too often, you might change your mind and the side. -
Yeah, but "downhill force" sounds too smooth for a game thats no so smooth yet.

Looks like "Hangabtriebskraft". No really, that's a word.

Such a rage throw. WOW! You should have dived after your rifle for the lolz.

Went AFK to Poop and Character was missing gear when I came back
umberfive replied to t1337dude's topic in General Discussion
Well, If you ever get to this situation and abut 20m from you another player launches a flare, you won't keep calm. Bad things happen. Whats more disturbing is the fact, that some bugs only appear for some people. Until recently I never broke my legs on a staircase, but others did. -
Went AFK to Poop and Character was missing gear when I came back
umberfive replied to t1337dude's topic in General Discussion
Something like that happened to me once, but my backpack and rifle did not come back to me. They floated on the water and were out of my reach. -
Is anyone in DayZ Standalone friendly?
umberfive replied to BoBoSlap's topic in New Player Discussion
Just yesterday I encountered two a-holes in a row. I spawned near Berezino. Although it is not good to loot there, I took the chance. As I looted a mini market, a very good equipped player shot at me with a mosin. Fortunately he wasn't very good with aiming. I wouldn't have cared if he hadn't shot. Unfortunately my attack was stopped and I died. His shots attracted many Zeds and another player. Most times I do not care about other player. They are more of a thread than a help to equip. I respawned again near Berezino and took the chance to find my body, but all was ruined. Then the other player appeared and I hit him until he was unconscious. The Zeds took care of the rest. Then the first player showed up and if it was not enough to kill me, I learned to accept that matter, he insulted me over the voice chat. I can live with the killing, but insults and discrimination are a no go. -
What clothing set/weapons would you add if you could?
umberfive replied to SomeCallMeNomad (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
Tactical bikini and the MG3. Just kidding. We do not need such overpowered guns, but a bikini would be nice. B) -
And yet again...I log out in disappointment.
umberfive replied to blehan9390's topic in General Discussion
Yeah, that's what I thought too after reading the whole text. And I read it whole. Those stories are the funniest. The game needs a feature to snap the players face when loosing, if he has a webcam. Those would be the funniest shots. -
But don't argue him into the face.

Since the last patch I found them only in fire stations and in the buero building with the big storage room at the entrance and the small storage room on the upper floor. They spawn mostly on the upper floor in the storage room behind the door. In fire stations they are often found in the shelves in the tower. On my last run in .47 I found one here and one there.

So whats every one gonna build/fortify when all that gets added?
umberfive replied to Sirwarriant12's topic in General Discussion
No, you cannot. When fortification will be available, if it will, then I have a lovely small hut in the north west (030 035) with a doghouse and a small garden. -
How many ammo do you carry?
umberfive replied to HeroAtDay BanditAtNight's topic in New Player Discussion
Yeah, get yourself a nice axe or firefighter axe and dump those ammo, where you do not have a weapon for, in the woods. I carry only two types of ammo. 7.62x51 for Elisabeth and .357 for Hannelore. -
Yesterday I played with the settings to see what my card is capable of. Recently I read an article about down sampling, so why not give it a try? I noticed that as soon as I set the render quality to 200% (4k), the dither or grass grid vanished and alpha (transparency) has been applied to grass and trees. Unfortunately the changes cost me some fps. I will try it again with 150% and see how that impacts. Maybe someone can confirm this.

It is not instantly. It was a longer process. Like many, not all, stereotypes, also this has its roots somewhere.
