  1. Hey man R4Z0R gives a pretty good turtorial here http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/225450-dayz-mod-1861/?p=2268932

Thank you B@ker for the response.  I have to be missing something.  That is the thread I downloaded the server files from.  I dont see any instructions or tutorial for installing/setting up/configuring of the server files and database.  From memory last server I setup there were files that needed to be edited, and database creating and import  All I see in that thread is:

    Quick Install Info:

    Full

    • Download Full Client Files.
    • Navigate to your arma 2 operation arrowhead directory
    • Extract the @Client-1.8.6.1-Full into your arma 2 operation arrowhead directory.
    • To start DayZ use a command line string like the below

This seems to be just for the client not the server.  I am hopeful that you have mis linked me and there is actually a tutorial somewhere.  Regardless thank you for the response.

  2. Hello,

About a year ago I setup Pwnz0rs server so me and a few friends could play.  This went very well.  Me and friends would like to play updated 1.8.6.1 dayz on our own private server.  I have downloaded all the server files but am at a loss on any comprehensive instructions for setting things up.  Am I missing them?  If anyone could point me in the right direction here I would be very thankful.

  3. Good morning guys,

Is this confirmed as truth or is this some new hot rumor going around?

I've read on an other gaming site that DayZ standalone will become

reformatted and done all over again and placing into the MMO genre

category, if this is true this just might be one great idea, and i don't

know how the standalone works but, would be nice to still have your

weapons and other items, when you log back on instead of just playing

it, and not building up a character. But hey i could be wrong now,

as i stated before i do not own the standalone version of this game..

it already is an MMO.  are you trying to say f2p or p2w or some such?  not going to happen.

  4. Best thing is, he does not only participate in an early access alpha on his own free will, he obviously even joined the experimental ( AKA test that shit ) branch and yet complains about stuff being broken, unfinished, or buggy.

Bet he doesn't even have a bugtracker account. Someone needs to know his role better.

I dont even think its a case of knowing your role or place, but exercising a bit of common sense - and not being a dbag.  There are so many early access alphas that are deserving of dev criticisms - this aint one of them.

  5. Congratulations - You built a monster.  There is nothing more satisfying than playing on a mean machine gaming computer that you built yourself.  I took the plunge and built my new system 3 months ago and have been living high on the hog ever since.

  6. Hello Dean Hall (in the hopes you're reading this),

You are doing a GREAT job.  Please take your time.  As you have said - you have the opportunity to create the game we all wished and dreamed it could be.  These things do not happen overnight.  Thank you for all of your efforts and hard work.  You have provided allot of people with many worthwhile hours of a unique gaming experience.   Again, thank you so much for this.  You all deserve a raise for the bs you constantly have to put up with.  I suppose that goes with the territory when you are building perhaps the most anticipated game of all time.  Please do not rush development.

    Respectfully,

  7. Definitely the RAM running single channel is causing your performance hit.  Your good with windows 8 - performance reviews have shown that if anything windows 8 might yield a very small increase (1-2 FPS) in many games.  The problem most people have with windows 8 is they stripped away our traditional desktop management and replaced it with something more suitable for the mobile market - a mistake even microsoft is now acknowledging.  If you dont have a problem with it then your golden - its a solid gaming platform.
