I don't need the game easier, I'm fine. In fact, if you read the rest of my posts, I actually make suggestions on how to make the game harder for yourself. I'm just looking at things from a development point of view (not some pooshy waiting for more zombies to kill while they avoid PvP). Besides we all know harder zombies will be added later. Right now, it think it has more to do with server performance more than anything else. It's a big map, with lots of places to spawn zombies. Plus spawning loot. All that has to be worked on if they started from a bad place in the code. Imagine if a server took 30 mins to restart because the code isn't optimized. These are probably the real reason for the small amount of zombies. -

Hey, I'm not the one that started the insults first. There are people on here thinking they are "real-deal" gamers and hate "casual" gamers. I'm on here to be constructive, but when I here this false elitism that some people have...it irks me. It's all just video games after all. -

I love the false self-esteem that video games give certain people. All you are a bunch of people who have too much time on their hands. You think figuring out how to play DayZ is some proof that you are a genius. Please. -
We should add a radar screen and arrows on the HUD to where the bad people are.

I have some guilt over some KoSing that I've done. There's been several times where I run into another player with their back turned to me, just standing there. They are probably looking at their inventory or their map. Anyways, I take a second to hesitate and quickly spray M4 ammo at these careless dudes. I mean, who just stands there in a prison building on an airbase or police station? I easily could speak up in direct chat and alert the dude that I'm there. But if they were paying attention or not alt-tabbed out, they would have heard my footsteps. It's just plain carelessness that I was able to sneak up on these dudes. At first, I thought maybe these were dupes...but they've fixed the dupe exploit and I just killed a dude in this way recently. Am I teaching these guys a lesson or am I just being a dick? Am I adding to their experience? Maybe next time they'll be more careful, actually pay attention, and don't tab-out in the airfield. I mean come on, I thought that was common sense. BTW, I don't need their stuff so I don't care if stuff gets ruined. It's kinda satisfying to empty half a STANAG clip into a person.

Your right hand can telepathically talk to your friends? Amazeballs. In SA, global and side comms are disabled. Why? Because that's how it's supposed to be. You can't just talk to someone that's all the way on the other side of the map. I'm just saying that using only the mechanics in-game is the correct way to play. Using anything outside of it...is cheating. How coordinated would bandit groups be without teamspeak? They would end up killing each other before killing anyone else. Just because it's accepted and prevalent, doesn't mean it's not cheating. -

Well, I will agree that the zermbies are kind of a joke right now, especially when you are geared. I would like it if one or two shots puts the zombie on the ground, but doesn't kill it. It should get back up and start attacking again. It would be cool if only straight-up headshots killed them. The zombie respawn is definitely a step in the right direction. No more looted ghost towns. It should be that every time a zombie hits you, something gets ruined. There's been a couple of times when I wasn't paying attention and a zombie hit me, checked my gear and everything was fine. That shouldn't happen. The hits should damage gear. I just would hate for DayZ to become a glorified "Left for Dead." -

I guess I have issues with people saying the game is too easy when they aren't even playing it as "hardcore" as they should. How can you be a "real-deal" gamer when you have a map open with everything on it and a global chat to organize with friends. Would you really be able to find the water pump in that small village in the middle of the map if you didn't rely on dayzdb.com. You dead from thirst. Would you really be able to find that grocery store? You dead from hunger. Would you have been able to meet up with your buddy so he can give you that Mosin he doesn't want anymore without teamspeak? You ain't got no gun to kill no zombies. I understand that maybe you've got the map memorized and play mostly by yourself. But take a minute to think about what I'm saying and maybe give your self a challenge before the dev team implements what you want. The tension is still here for a lot of us. You may have gotten yourself into a rut and hoping the devs will hurry up to get you out of it. I just want stuff I put on the ground to not take 5 mins to show back up...or at all. -

Actually I would love to find some murderers camping in Elektro and spawn in where there are at with just a combat knife and silently take them out. That would be awesome. -

It's cheating. This is probably what Dean wanted to have to make SA more brutal. The map basically tells you where everything is. Water pumps, important buildings, the distance in meters from one spot to another. There are maps in-game that you have to find. Those are the maps you should be using. It's cheating. Vent or teamspeak is cheating. - "Is that you in the cowboy hat? I'm gonna shoot!!!" - "Wait don't shoot it's me I switched from the helmet to the hat." - "Oh ok, cuz I woulda shot you." If you did go to your friends house and played, then fine. But don't use "global chat" to get around having to talk in-game or through walkie-talkies. It's cheating. It's telepathic cheating. Turn off the crutches bro and play as a fresh spawn again. Maybe you'll get more appreciation for the game. Anyway, still a good post. -

Well I do agree that there should be threats in the forests. Zombies and animals. I do think there should be a ton more zombies in the big cities like Elektro, Cherno, Svet, and Zelenodorks. I mean the town is huge, but only like 10 people turned into a zombie? Not realistic. As far as brutal. SA is pretty brutal. Who here is actually playing the game as it should be? No dayzdb.com map, no teamspeak or ventrillo, no way to let people know that you're only playing the "survivalist" part of DayZ and not the "PvP" part. You are all cheating with these tools and you're saying the game is too easy. Give me a break. There's the brutality. If you want a hard game, turn off all the "cheats". Stop jumping to an empty server when you go into a military base. Play the game without a gun. I'm just saying that people complaining now will never be satisfied. Give them more things to do to avoid PvP and they'll do those things...until it becomes easy again. -

I also find it hilarious when these so-called "survivalist" loses all their stuff to some CoD kid because the "survivalist" don't know how to combat. They sure like to kill zombies though. -

BTW, guys it's a video game. Being good at it, doesn't mean you could actually live in a zombie apocalypse. I don't understand the elitism of calling yourself a "real-deal" gamer. It's a video game. -

We are all gonna come full circle on this one. They'll add more zombies, tougher zombies, zombies that can fly. They'll add bears and armored unicorns. And they'll add helicopters with 50cals so you can kill the zerbies, bears, and unicorns. Then we'll be like, "I'm bored, I'm gonna go kill some people." -

I don't understand why you guys want to shut out new players from being able to learn and get good at the game now. They will make it harder to survive later, but if you don't build a good user base, one that has been nurtured to be able to withstand the zombie apocalypse that you want...then this game will die where it is. I'm assuming they released an alpha just to see if it's even worth making this game. Now, they've made some money and hired on developers. A mod is small time. Standalone has to "stand alone" as a game. They need players, new players, players that will tell their friends to play. "Casual" players. Some people also need to get off the fact that the mod was built from a military simulator. So there were probably a lot of things in the mod that should never be in the standalone. I for one don't think we need helicopters or high powered sniper rifles with 12x scope with heat and motion detection. Also, I don't agree with the "live long enough to become a bandit" excuse. It's a lot harder being a hero. -

BTW, I've been on the experimental servers and yeah the zombie re-spawn has made the game more interesting. I do think they need to implement loot respawn and really get rid of the need to server jump. -

MORE ZOMBIES!!!! HARDER ZOMBIES!!!!! I think you are forgetting that they are new players and mostly a lot of people still learning how to play. Can you imagine buying a game (alpha), trying to figure out what's going on (because you didn't play ARMA 2 or the mod), and getting instantly killed by one zombie because you are a fresh spawn and have nothing? Forget about being able to run from zombies on an empty server so you can finally get to a town that hasn't already been picked clean. Nobody is going to help anybody...fresh spawns would be dying by the 9000s to zombies and KOSers. The attrition from those people will far outnumber the people leaving because they are bored. I've been playing a lot, I was bored for a little bit, but I still play. If you are bored, you should try hunting bandits and murderers. Seek out action...don't diddle with yourself in the woods and complain there's no threat. Jump on a full 40 player server and look for other players. The friendly and hostile confrontations are what this game is about and that's where the risk versus reward is. -
I think the full on sprint so be just as fast as regular sprint when you have a pistol out. So, basically instead of running with both hands on the gun. The player runs with the pistol in the right hand. Normal jogging should still have both hands on the gun. I think this will give the pistol a more balanced role in the game.
