Correct. If my friends are freshspawns, they will suicide to spawn closer to me instead. If we're all geared, we'll run to meet each other.

I did before you even asked. It goes without saying (to most people, anyway, apparently not to you) that it's not convenient to lose gear that you put time and effort into acquiring.

It's almost as if you reply to my posts without even reading them.

I like to do shit together, not just communicate over in-game distance. If that means I have to sacrifice my character which has nothing, I will do that. Because otherwise I'd end up running and running. If I looted on my way, it'd take even longer and I'd still end up playing by myself for a period of time I'd rather spend being within range of my friends. Nah I don't do that because that's not what I find fun in. I'm most definitely NOT wasting any time. I don't always suicide just to meet up with friends, especially when we're all freshspawns or so. I'm saying that if I find convenience in it, I will not hesitate to suicide because it's useful and the game lets you do it without limits at the moment.

Not convinced. In any case, you may like to gear up or do whatever you do before meeting up with friends. I like to meet up with friends and then play. With friends. Because talking with friends while playing alone does not count as playing with friends.

You don't play with friends, do you. I'm not a pussy for sacrificing something less fun for something more fun. If my friend is in Balota securing an AK for me, and I'm a freshspawn in Svetlo, I sure as hell will jump off a building in attempt to respawn in Cherno. It would be silly not to and you're silly for thinking otherwise.

When playing with friends, I don't mind "losing" the "solo game" if I get to start the "co-op game" sooner than I would otherwise.

A better spawn is a spawn where you're closer to your friends and/or to a place with bigger chances of obtaining better loot which will in turn increase the chances of survival and make your life more comfortable.

Dayz fps problem. Hardcore vs Normal

The obvious solution would be to stick with hardcore.

Suicide is a legit (though not very immersive) strategy to attempt getting a better spawn. I really don't see how a player using this for their convenience can be regarded as a bad player because of it. This logic is as flawed as it gets. Sure, in order to make the game more realistic and prevent people from suiciding like their in-game life wasn't worth 2 shits, the devs should do something about it (increase the respawn timer after multiple deaths within a short period of time? Yes please), but until it's available and not forbidden, it's just a convenience which people will not ditch, because it wouldn't make sense to.
  11. Try 1PP servers. Lesser chance of encountering a player that sucks.
  12. It would be nice if you guys maintained a mature and interesting discussion instead of "nah, you're clearly wrong" without elaborating at all.
  13. No, I never get tired of having better chances of survival than I would otherwise. People already have many means to troll and not act as they would had this been real, why increase that probability in a game that strives for realism? Especially when the gain of adding bright spray paint colors is so minimal. I suggest the game limit the options that would for little benefit make the survival experience less realistic. I still don't understand what does this have to do with military simulation. It's realistic to have choices, it's unrealistic to make certain choices. Why allow making unrealistic choices? Bandana serve as a headgear, not just cosmetic. Clown masks? Clearly a way for bandits to show off, and friendly people don't really wear them so it maintains realism. It's completely realistic that people would KOS each other in a zombie apocalypse as far as I'm concerned. It is unrealistic, however, that people would deliberately reduce their chances of survival by painting themselves in bright colors. There ARE exceptions, yes, but rare. They wouldn't be rare in DayZ, because coolness > realism to many players. I'm basing my idea on the fact that people would not want to lessen their chances of survival in real life (as long as they want to survive, of course) and cosmetics would be the last thing that comes to mind. Can you honestly say that it's very arguable?
  14. Cheating has nothing to do with bright colors, it was in response to "Let people have their fun." There has to be restrictions, and in a game striving for realism, I don't see why would bright spray paint colors be available, knowing that people will use them in silly and unrealistic ways. You're wrong. Restricing the use of bright spray paint colors makes the game more realistic because realistically, nobody would use them anyway. If they're allowed, people will use them because this isn't real life, making the game less realistic. I also have no idea where are you coming with this "MilSim" bullshit from.
  15. Not if it ruins my fun. Cheaters ruin my fun. Players deliberately painting themselves in bright colors and therefore making the game appear less realistic than it could be for little reason would also ruin my fun.
  16. People will have a much harder time seeing me hidden in a bush if my gun is sprayed green or during night if my gun is sprayed black. People will have an easier time noticing me if my gun is sprayed golden.
  17. You wanting more spray colors isn't what I was judging your age by neither. It's the way you write in general. I can do that in any game, but I won't because it's bothersome. DayZ, a game striving for realism, should subtly enforce it itself, otherwise the game gets less realistic than it could be with no benefit. You're arguing over something so trivial as bright spray paint colors without thinking what side effect it will have, that's your problem.
  18. Appearance is not what I was judging your age by.
  19. You certainly don't appear to be. Yes. By "trying to survive" I didn't mean that one wouldn't strive for better life, however it's still the main objective. And flashy colors simply don't help. It is my belief that the amount of players who would spray paint their stuff in flashy colors in DayZ would greatly exceed the amount of people who would do that if it was real and they only had a single life, in turn unnecessarily making the game less realistic than it could be by simply not introducing those spray paint colors. Sure, such spray colors would exist IRL and be available for people, but in DayZ players would use them for the lulz because their in-game life matters way less than a real one. It simply is not worth it, as it's too trivial a feature to sacrifice realism for it. An example: Flares and chemlights are everywhere, and I usually light them up as I come across them. Why? Because I can and it doesn't matter. Would I do that IRL? No, it could draw attention of unfriendly people. Are they worth being in-game? Yes. It's a much needed light source. Can the same be said about flashy spray colors?
  20. I don't suppose you've heard of the term "hypothetical situation". Same as above. Which wouldn't be the case if it was a real thing and not just a game. Why allow people do something they wouldn't do IRL in a game that strives for realism? They can exist for all I care, just not be usable because people wouldn't use it if it wasn't a game. How old are you again? Sorry if I don't agree with giving people the ability to do nonsense. Something being rare only encourages people to use it. Why add something that doesn't... well... add anything to the game, yet gives the feeling that it isn't a zombie apocalypse where people actually try to survive instead of looking flashy?
  21. In what scenario would you paint your gun gold in a real life zombie apocalypse?
  22. Seems like you're too focused on your silly opinion -- that I'm basing everything off my own playstyle and needs -- to actually understand my point. So be it. You're not worth the discussion. Just one last thing. If you honestly believe that the addition of bright spray paint colors wouldn't make people use them for the lulz just because it's a game (even though they wouldn't do that IRL), and in turn make the game appear way less realistic than it is now with a limited palette, then I can't even describe how wrong you are. You'll probably just brush it off as "oh it's that guy that I disagree with posting again", but if I'm somehow wrong and you are at least remotely worth of a serious discussion, then you will consider this and make conclusions.
  23. If the game gives you an option to use something that you wouldn't use in the same real life situation, then it's safe to conclude that it makes the game (which strives for realism) less realistic. By how much? Depends. Is it worth being added? Debatable. Is it important? No. Basically it gives a disadvantage and would hardly be used if it wasn't a game.
  24. The devs could just add those spray colors to prove my point that way too many people would use them, but I'd rather they focused on important things, that don't reduce realism. I'm not one of those people. Right, let's have ridiculous spray paint colors because those 3 people want to role play! Who cares if it reduces the realism of the game that strives for realism! Where did you get this statistic? It's very inaccurate. So in the end you do agree that it would make the game less realistic? Because that's the whole point I was trying to get across.
  25. It's you who has failed to read my posts. But I'll make it easier for you: Seeing people running around in bright, easy-to-spot colors due to their own choice is unrealistic, unless it's a one-in-a-million scenario where a mentally retarded guy finds a pretty spray paint color to play with. In DayZ, people would use those colors "because why not, it's just a game" and not give a damn about realism which the devs are striving for.
