No! It is ridiculous to dictate how I would, act, feel behave like after killing someone. No negative effects on players for killing, it is the fastest way to kill this game.

Every time a thread like this is posted it just reinforces my play style. I remember my first weeks playing the mod. I spawned on the coast for the first time, eager eyed and excited about my new adventure. Having no idea where I was or what I was doing; ignorance was truly blissful. I skipped down the coast towards some houses I could see to the east. Into the first house I went, "WHOA, sweet! Some food here and a pistol, damn I am goo..." YOU ARE DEAD! Oh shit what the hell was that? Rinse and repeat, time and time again. Sometimes I would see the asshole and sometimes I would not. But I got better, I used the anguish to hone my skills, adapt to this predatory new land and it was truly the most amazing journey. The hunted has become the hunter and no amount of horticulture, camping, base building will ever quench my thirst for your blood.

Well you would be wrong and on multiple levels. 1. None of my team have or would ever duped, we very rarely have the same gun (except sks cause they are so damn plentiful) Same clothing? Well yes, you just can't beat ttsko clothing when you are hunting and it is not hard to find at all. 2. It is extremely rare nowadays for any of us to have the finest weapons let alone our whole team. 3. We often have unplanned clan warfare and once we have murdered them it is very very rare that I would claim that they may have been duping. I don't know maybe some parts of the world are worse than others? I find generally speaking the AU/NZ servers are pretty good when it comes to cheaters and exploiters (wall glitches were a massive problem though).

Ok I have edited this video with an updated fix to not being able to craft splints. Let me know if it fixes your problem or you have any other questions.

Yeah it is super annoying albeit it is probably realistic I suppose? Can't really say I have tried one on IRL

Ammo and weapons quantities have already been dropped remarkably since DayZ was first released, man I remember the good 'ol dayz runing around with 900 rounds, 3 x M4 60 mags and a M4 with all the trimmings, now I haven't even been able to find a M4 for months, except for on the dead body of I guy I killed with a hoe. The one thing I have garnished from frequenting these forums is you lot still aren't satisfied. I think you would be still complaining if that rocks were OP if that was the only thing in the game that could be used as a weapon. DayZ has always been about PvP and always will be, you just need to what to the mod tools are handed out as it won't happen in vanilla.

I don't always vote on KoS poll's but when I do, I vote "for fun". Oh no thats right I do always vote on these polls, like when they pop up every week

Does anyone know of a truly stealth player on YT or Twitch?
nexventor replied to RAM-bo4250's topic in General Discussion
I'm not sure if my channel is what you like but check it out anyway. I pretty much just make vids that I like to watch. I used to have pretty shitty upload speeds so would reduce vids to 10-15 mins long and had to cut most of the stealthy parts out but I can make longer ones now. -
Nah it hasn't you just have to have your hands in the boxing position.

Clarification on "Base Building"
nexventor replied to Caboose187 (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
Not all servers ran it but basically if you came within a 50 mtrs radius (iirc) a timer would count down on your screen and you would have 10 seconds to leave the "dome", if you didn't you died. It destroyed base raiding and was so stupid. -

I tell you one thing they bloody better not have those stupid protection domes like they did in epoch! -
Yeah treasure this moment. It becomes a little sad once you know the map like the back of your hand

Fire and smoke giving away your position?
nexventor replied to Old_Crow_Whiskey's topic in General Discussion
We can only hope. Unfortunately that is exactly what I am saying. I will post a very quick vid when I get home tonight if I get time. -
Fire and smoke giving away your position?
nexventor replied to Old_Crow_Whiskey's topic in General Discussion
It really is. I think I have some footage, ill take a look and upload if I can find it. Ok 190 mtrs is the draw for ADS/Scope/Range finder and the fire can be completely invisible to the unzoomed eye at a tiny 100mtrs. -
Fire and smoke giving away your position?
nexventor replied to Old_Crow_Whiskey's topic in General Discussion
Yes 190 mtrs is the draw distance. -
Lol I got what he meant... it was tongue firmly in cheek
-
Thanks man. I really appreciate it. It would have been better if I wasn't shaking so bad due to cold.

Reduce running speed by increments as vehicles are introduced
nexventor replied to theirongiant's topic in Suggestions
I was thinking the devs should do this but not tell us! Guess the cat is out of the bag now though lol -
They can't be that crappy if they are killing you so easily. OHhhh, I am intrigued. What such wraith we will full prey to? Agreed, god damn assholes, you got to love [del]us[/del] them

SERIOUSLY! This is how damn effective the ghillie is. First fire fight with it, in a really shitty position and I not only survived I wiped out their entire squad. Out manned, out gunned but out of sight.

Clarification on "Base Building"
nexventor replied to Caboose187 (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
I would have to be excited to calm down, I'm not even mildly aroused ;) Somewhere you can call home, being creative and designing your own base is a HUGE appeal to a lot of players. It's realistic, it adds to the game, it adds things to do instead of just KoS'ing all the time (and personally the only reason I play is to KoS) so it's got to be a winner for all those PvE types if I am saying that, they might live a little longer if I am distracted. And then there is the raiding... Probably some of the best gaming experiences in my entire life. There literally isn't anything quite like stalking players back to their bases only to end up having some of the most epic fire fights imaginable where winner literally takes all. Taunting people from their own bases is also fun! You just got to remember the game is for everyone and your posts just seemed "me, me, me". Whenever an idea is posed I always ask myself this one question, "how will this negatively effective game play". If it I can't find a reason, then I have no problem with it. For example someone suggested companion animals, now to me, I have no interest in that whatsoever. HOWEVER, I could not come up with any legitimate negative attributes, so meh, they can have it if the dev's see value in it. Some people just like to say NO for the sake of saying NO. As Borom said it got stupid as it was poorly implemented but also because admins could spawn in what they wanted when they wanted. A base would take a normal player fucking weeks to build something significant, an admin could do it in a few hours. Once an admin attacked our very very basic base, we annihilated him. 5 mins later he was back at our base with an Apache helicopter LOL! -
I think i am turning into a KOS type...
nexventor replied to Plaster422's topic in General Discussion
Why try and help freshies in the first place? There is a higher chance that they have just been killed and will be looking for that insta-kit up. You will have a better chance of making friends inland as people don't need your gear as much but timing must be everything. You need to catch someone with their pants down and seriously they will be thankful you didn't just KoS and the chances of interacting with players is ten fold.
