Right click "DayZ.exe" in c;\program files\steam\steamapps\common\DayZ, and select run as administrator. If that fixes the issue then go to properties and tick "always run as administrator"

Fix these two easy/small things and the game will be amazing

I laughed way to hard to this. The beginning lured me in, the middle was interesting and the ending I did not see coming. 13/10 would quote again. -
When I said vocal minority, I wasn't necessarily talking about the community however... EA and others have been doing that for years now, look at the battlefield series. Arguably on one the most enjoyable FPS series created turned into the biggest steaming pile of shit to ever carry the BF logo. BF4 was horrendous, so much so that after 1 year of being released they put it back into BETA.... AFTER RELEASE.... BETA. :o . Classic example of publishers putting cash before quality and again I will stand by comment and say the gaming community is to blame for it. Every single one of the 100 friends I had on battlelog except myself and another guy "pre-ordered" BF4 after the 2 week trial which they labeled as BETA and after all of them complained that Dice never fixed the netcode that plagued BF3. They didn't listen to a single word the community was saying and had been saying since day one of BF3 at a minimum. Now as we enter 2015 and the hype train for Battlefront begins to pick up steam, how many pre-orders do you think they are going to sell? I guarantee it will be a metric shit tonne. Forget the horrendous game breaking net code and invisibility glitches and invincibility bugs, the smucks will be happy to throw their $130 at a pre-order, then bitch moan and cry when they get handled a big pile of steaming turd. Maybe EA learnt something from BF4 but I won't be holding my breath.

Well that has just confirmed my point even more. Dev's have an idea for a game, beta comes along and instead of listening to their instinct and original plan, listen to vocal minority and ruin the game. It has happened to a great deal of games.
-
You know how much friendly fire happens in real life don't you?
-
It's really really simple. First came along "pre-orders" and gamers could't get enough. Then came waiting in line at 12 o'clock to get there hands on said pre-orders. The marketing guys thought "hey, if the consumers don't want to wait lets not even finish the game. Who cares about game breaking glitches and bugs, we are here to make money and these stupid kids are throwing money out the window to be receive this shit. We do it time and time again and they are so stupid they still keep buying our broken ass games" (yes I am looking at you EA). Then the idea came... why even wait till the game hits "release" or "beta" for that matter, lets sell the game when it ain't even a game and yet gamers are still lapping that shit up. in 5 years time we will be buying games that aren't even in alpha, they will be an idea, a sparkle in someone's eye, a concept... Oh wait, whats this? There's a site called kickstarter.... WOW! Gamers have no one to blame apart from themselves and while I totally get the irony in the fact I too bought in DayZ Alpha, it was a calculated and well researched investment, which I don't regret for a second.

Getting really bummed out after buying this game.

Have you tried 7D2D? It just sound's like this is your game. DayZ is suppose to be brutal, it is suppose to be ruthless. If you still want to play DayZ then you need to suffer, learn, adapt in that order. Deaths will become less frequent and you will start to learn how to stay alive for longer periods. Every death you need to ask yourself, what did I do wrong? How could I of handled that better and then action it, commit it to memory and learn not to repeat them. Dying to glitches is just part and parcel of DayZ, especially when it is still in Alpha stage. Good luck and try to find a buddy, the game is far more enjoyable playing with others. -
What is the nicest thing you have done in DayZ

I let a guy live once, I suppose that was pretty nice. -
This is going to end well

A true bandit not cares for a bag but only his weapon and keen instinct :P

I had this on every DayZ mod and standalone since I can remember. Got worse in the last 3-4 months of SA but doesn't happen on any other game to the point where I would get massive freezes when driving. I thought my GPU was trashed and after replacing it and still suffering the same problem a uninstall of SA and moving it from my HDD to my SDD fixed my problem instantly. Looking at your specs you have more than enough power, it comes down to either what i suggested above or a problem with an individual part failing.

DayZ minimum/recommended Specs and your rig
nexventor replied to LORDPrometheus's topic in General Discussion
Really depends on what settings you want to run. I just upgraded from a GTX 670 and was getting a horrendous 1-15fps in novodmitrovsk with very very knocked down settings so much so it was making me sick to a gtx 970 were I am pretty much running everything on high or ultra and hitting a solid 20fps but it felt very very playable even with my trackIR and moving my head from side to side. Dropping those settings down to normal or where my 670 was and I am sure it would be easily hitting nearly double that if not more. The funny thing was my 670 at 20 frames felt a lot less fluid (more slide show) than my 970 at 20 frames. Today I also put dayz on my SSD and that has helped tremendously with micro stuttering and I think caused a lot of issues, I highly recommend everyone does this immediately if they haven't already, -
Here is my comment from another thread on here... Shadowplay causes no FPS drops however it is limited in its's audio, so you have to take that into consideration. Fraps - I wouldn't touch again huge FPS drop, worst out of all of them Shadowplay - Great but must have nvidia card and can only record 1 audio track, Your voip, TS3 (skype, mumble) and the in game sounds are recorded as one stream which makes editing people out harder FREE OBS - Haven't tried it myself but hear good things, Definite FPS drop but good quality MSI Afterburner - Used to love this, great quality, 2 audio tracks but something has changed, not sure if me or something since the update but audio has gone bad. FPS Drop varies but 95% no issue FREE DX Tory - Nice program easy to use, Ok quality. Best thing is the amount of audio tracks you can set up. Definite FPS drop. Hope that helps

Bandit Bounty Hunters (A KoS reduction initiative without affecting anyones playstyle)
nexventor posted a topic in Suggestions
I am going to try and make this as brief as possible but still cover everything. PLEASE NOTE: I am an AVID KoS enthusiast Ok so before phones/tv's/cars/ etc reputation would spread quickly. Take the wild west for example, we know the stories of Billy the Kid, Wyatt Erp and the like and that is because of word of mouth, eye witnesses and evidence which we can't replicate in this game... or can we? My proposal is this... 1) We incorporate non intrusive player identification like this From this thread http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/202570-squad-xml-for-dayz/page-2#entry2165459 2) We have a notice board in say 3 towns (this could be increased or decreased) where you can see who was killed but instead of saying who killed them, it just shows the emblem. Or it could slowly build over time eg. The first kill your clan makes the notice board only show a portion of the emblem and it gets clearer, with the more kills - the more reputation. 3) You can opt-out eg Don't upload an emblem. It will just say Player Nex killed by unknown entity at Stary or something to that effect. - THIS POINT IS DEBATABLE - it could be changed so that instead of saying "unknown entity" it could say killed by player with orange mount backpack, asian appearance or using a SKS etc etc. The more you kill the more details revealed. But obviously by simply changing clothing and weapons you can stay ahead of the game. 4) Message board areas would be stalked creating some interesting situations. 5) Clans would seek revenge on other clans for killing their mates 6) Bounties could be set (totally ingame though no IRL currencies eg I have a 60 round M4 mag for anyone killing any member of "KoS clan") 7) The hunters could become the hunted. My team would absolutely love to be revenged for our dastardly deeds. Sometimes it is nice to be wanted lol. I am not positive it would reduce KoS but it would allow revenge, it would allow some awesome encounters. Thoughts? -
Public Service Announcement - Can't get rid of your shaking?
nexventor posted a topic in General Discussion
Can't beat the shaking? Well after one character of mine had been shaking for several weeks I decided it was time to fix it. One fire going, over 45 mins still couldn't get rid of it. 3 fires going 7.5 minutes and I was back to my original glory. -
We had a guy in our team that every time he got killed he would yell "fucking hackers". Yeah righto mate, maybe you are just shit! needless to say he doesn't play with us any more.

Yep my mate just found one for me last night and I must say it is a beautiful piece of equipment.

Bandit Bounty Hunters (A KoS reduction initiative without affecting anyones playstyle)
nexventor replied to nexventor's topic in Suggestions
Thanks for your questions The message bored is maintained by the game, it doesn't require someone to go up to and input the data, it works just like a kill feed etc but instead of displaying the info on your UI, it updates the notice board. You haven't played the mod I take it? The had something similar in the MOD but it would only last ten minutes and just had "Player x killed by player Y" Not a 100% sure what you are asking here. The game is "built around" public but I doubt very much it will stay that way, private shards are the future and becoming more and more popular. TBH I can't even remember the last time I played public. Regardless though, if it is useless (which I don't agree with) then it still has no negative effective. However it might be the difference between a friendly or hero player seeing somebody with an emblem that they recognise has many kills, normally they would let him go cause you know they are friendly but now they know he is a murder and engage. -
I don't like to take this stance but maybe it is time for me to jump on my high horse! I don't think you have played the game long enough to comprehend what does and doesn't add to the game. Banditry is exactly what makes this game weather you like it or not. Without it, the game becomes a dull boring place real quick, I know as I tried it the Mod. In the DayZ mod, there are many servers around the world that are roleplay only, no KoS. They have their "niche" and the small amount of people that play them, enjoy them greatly but to think or wish that the "core" game is going to be like that, I am afraid you will be sorely disappointed. SA will have the same "niche" servers so there is no need to even worry about KoS but the large majority of people just want to shoot people. Well which one is it son? It is just a game or it is more than just a game. So why are you demeaning or trying to take away from my play style? If I want to play like a homicidal manic, why should I be punished cause it doesn't agree with your play style? Why do I have to play it your way? I don't like RP, in fact it bores the shit of me. But saying that I should be punished for killing is the equivalent of a 10 year old demanding the rules of the game or he is picking up his ball and going home, ESPECIALLY when the vast majority of players want and do play the bandit. That is neither here nor there, it is irrelevant..... Honour, greatness? You are losing me here bud but once again... This is a game! WIth over 2000hrs in the mod, 600 in SA and neither bored nor in despair. Your constant assumptions are leading you astray. I think the vast majority of the community would disagree with you bud. Mate I would absolutely love if there was some sort of reputation where bounty hunters, heroes, and other clans would actively seek us out because of our dastardly deeds. I WOULD LOVE IT! Maybe this.... http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/202570-squad-xml-for-dayz/page-2#entry2165459 combined with some sort of bounty board (A notice board in the big towns that has a list of people who have been killed) But instead of saying who the person was killed by it just has the squad xml.

Brilliant! Would bolt again 10/10

This is "non intrusive player identification" and I am all bloody for it. It's not a matter of "IF" but when.
