It's to be expected In between extended patch delivery. People will do one of three things, keep playing and enjoying the game for what it is, come to forum and demand more content from the dev's while acting like a spoiled little brat or pick up another game and patiently wait for the next installment. Fluctuations of players during an ALPHA is not something to be concerned about. So very very much this.

Why do people need a back story all the bloody time, or lore as they call it *shakes head*. Yeah cause spawning after you have been shot to shit is totally realistic. Just play the game and use your imagination ffs. The spawn system while not realistic (yawn) is a fair system which (once we have respanwing loot) provides everyone an opportunity to get kitted up no matter what time you join the server.

You have to join the experimental branch of the game. To do that you need to, right click on the game name in steam library, go to properties then when the box appears click on the last tab, I think it is called betas. On the drop down box select opt in to beta or something to that effect. It will then download a patch, this one being about 700mb. Then join the game as normal. If you want to go back to the stable version follow these instructions again

They do little bits here and there but from my understanding (I am not a programmer) optimisation and balancing comes at the end of the development process. Also from my understanding when they go to 64bit (in the next couple of months maybe) that will help a lot with the cities etc. Hope that helps

Dean has already said that the public servers will connected to hive. Oh people "get that" but just because it wasn't intended doesn't mean that it should not be in the game and actually worked well. Yes that is how it works. -

The mod is not standalone. How does it get innocent people killed? If you are not an idiot and don't log out in stupid places it doesn't effect you EVER. If you like to server hop, ghost or just be an idiot it will effect you? Which category do you fall in? -
Don't worry... it will settle down. There's just not a lot else to do at the moment. I am proud KoS'er but even I envisage a time where I will get enjoyment from interacting with other players other than shooting them in their face.... maybe. :P

Issue 1) You see someone running into the building and you wait for them to come out. Unfortunately this is a symptom of having "hives". Most likely they are serving hoping and no matter how long it is before they can log back in, they will still do this. I still think the log out timer (ie how long your body stays in the game for) should be longer and that would reduce people logging out in high profile places. No one would log out in the ATC if their body was going to stay there for 5 minutes. The risk would be too high. Another solution is be more aggressive, you see someone going in there, go get them. That is how I play and a lot of the time you can catch people in their inventory screens. Issue 2) Logging in behind you I totally agree, this is the most stupidest aspect to come into the game. Bring back the ammo sound is a simple solution that worked well, couple that with my colution above and I think this would become a thing of the past.

It's not my job to convince you. I don't need to convince you. The devs are already heading towards a more survival aspect so the only content that requires any form of discussion is the less weapons, which has been discussed in about a thousand threads. What you are proposing is nothing new.

Ok I am going to throw something at you here and please read the words very carefully. Lets say we implement your idea of.... What do you think will happen when I find a weapon? I'll tell you. Because weapons are very rare I will be able to dominate the server and kill everyone with almost no concern for being attacked.... cause you know, weapons are so rare. To make he game fair there needs to be a weapon for everybody. Otherwise you will just have a certain group of people controlling the server. Trust me, that is no fun at all. Be careful of what you wish for, when you only look at one side of the equation. Everybody needs and deserves the ability to defend themselves. People think that by limiting weapons or limiting ammo will fix KoS, it won't. It will in fact make a certain group almost untouchable.

All my deaths are from close qtrs bar one as well but I would put that greatly down to knowing the game. There are a lot of players who just don't learn. For example last week there was a guy sniping on the factory roof in berezino killing anything that moved. I shot at him, missed, again missed, third time missed. Now at the first missed shot I would have stood up and started moving round, he just stayed in the prone position as slowly crawled. My fourth shot didn't miss and he was dead instantly. If you understand the mechanics and learn from your mistakes (which I did in the mod), majority of snipers are not a great threat at all, especially ones like me lol. I dare say though as more and more players become proficient with them and new better weapons and scopes are introduced it will start to become harder to dodge No wind does effect ballistics in Arma II, well not without a mod but no one plays arma II in vanilla. Hopefully the add it to DayZ -
