Hello everyone, firstly thanks for the awesome game, i am really excited and cant wait till it will be finished. So, i searched the forum i was not able to find a post with this so i am making a new one. The basic idea is pretty simple but it will have a HUGE impact on gameplay in my opinion. In almost every movie about zombies or story, you have to damage zombies brain to kill it. I think lots of people here are fans of TWD, in this show, you also have to hit the walker to the head, in order to properly kill it. I played 48 hours(which is not that much) but i was never killed or even seriously threatened by zombies, they are just too easy. Making them more durable, faster and stronger is nice, but they are not supposed to be fast or strong... they r walking dead people.... So here are some points why it would be good and interesting to implement this to the game : 1.) I dont know how the things are working in standalone, but it shouldnt be that hard to implement this and make zombie die only after head shot/hit 2.) Melee weapons - one hitting zombies with axe is at its supposed to be, but you have to aim at the head, you miss too much, you die, you will panic and loose focus, you die(thanks Hershel). Now it is very hard to be overwhelmed by the zombies because you are one hitting them one after another without any problem. When this would be imlemented, even a small amount of zombies will posses a serious threat 3.) This is where it gets cool, this thing can take a HUGE adventage of durability system. Now its not that big of a deal if you dont have pristine weapon, it almost doesnt matter in zombie encounters... well.. it doesnt matter at all. BUT if you can kill a zombie only with hedshot, you need to let it come really close in order to kill it properly, otherwise you are just wasting ammo, with ruined weapon there is no way you are going to kill a zombie that easily... you have almost no chance beacuse it is blind as... well you know... its really not accurate :D. So in order to have a chance you need a pristine or at least not damaged weapon... AND GUESS WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU KILL ON SIGHT ? everything on the person you killed will get RUINED, and ruined weapons will be of no use if you need precision for killing zombies, they will just waste a lot of ammo and make big noise. So i think it will also help with KOS mentality 4.)Grouping - It will be not that easy to kill 1 zombie. But when there are more of them its even harder because if you are running from one zombie and want to shoot another you are not going to be that precise. If the zombies are problem n.1, people will be more motivated to actually work in groups, use tactics, be stealth, you know.. just the thing you would do in real life :] And if you need other people to survive, you wont kill them as well, so another strike to KOS mentality. 5.)This is as its supposed to be, zombies are supposed to die only when damaged in the brain. //UPDATE: Not that valid of an argument, because zombies in DayZ mod were infected people, not living dead... So all in all, its really a small change technically, but with really huge impact on the game and i would really like if the devs would consider this seriously. I will also like if someone has something to add to this, maybe some counterpoints or if they feel the same way, support the idea. Thanks
