About persistent objects and immersion
cruiseashimself replied to brazorf's topic in General Discussion
I think when you die all your stuff clears from the server unless its claimed by another player. In no way do I think you should be able to drop your stuff in the woods, run into electro, die, spawn, run back to the woods in electro and pick your stuff up and go on your merry way. That's an incredibly stupid idea and completely unrealistic. You would lose the fear of dying and losing all your belonging. Thus you people will make careless decisions and it turns into battlefield with way too much running. -
I found two LRS's in the same barracks in NWAF. I thought it was a trick. Lol. I still have them BTW.

The Wishlist - Three things that need to happen
cruiseashimself replied to Psyentific's topic in General Discussion
really? he was simply saying the moderator's reply was a bit out of line. I understand the op is beating a dead horse here but wow. Isn't that what the graveyard is for? TO the OP: all your points are completely valid, just remember you can always lick it back up in a later stable build OR post about the bugs in the correct section. -

Looking for a PU scope....

I have two lrs's I'm willing to trade someone. I need a PU some thing similar. -
Why is it that I log out of a server that has like 10 group members in it with all the same clan handle. I immediately log in and thinking to myself. "Nope, today is not the day to die" Even if I recognize the clan from the forum. (it was cqb or something) I'm not taking a chance with anyone. I wouldn't say I'm not a hero player per say but I don't go around guns a-blazing yelling yeehaaww. Kill you and take your stuff. I like helping people in need. However I will take proper precautions to protect myself. I do enjoy the occasional surprise meet up where both parties are stunned with what to do, so I fire in the air to attract zombies then run away. Enough banter... Does anyone else do the same thing? Log in see who's in the server and log out when a huge clan is in for fear of being killed while you are fumbling for you MIC and exclaiming "friendly friendly friendly!!!"???

That's what I figure as well. I just don't like dealing with that awkwardness and meeting them and being pwned by 6 dude with m4's
-
So I've read. I honestly just get intimidated by a large groups of people in fear of be wasted for no logical reason what so ever. haha

First friendly encounter in a month (Sad ending)

Are you taking about the ladder in the apartment building??? Cuz it got me twice. Bullshit. Haha. -
even tracking for hunting animals. I'm sure it would be a lot for the server. dump that info when the server restarts, so you know the foot steps are only a few hours old.
-
Well I do play cautious. I mean would you really venture into a city knowing there is a group of people that could potential kill you? Even being a genuinely good player and its a good group. nothing is 100%.
-
I wonder if you will leave foot steps in the snow. That's would be a nice way to track someone or something.
-
Yea I go in the woods near the tree line looking out so I remember where I am. If I happen to quickly log out and I'm in a building, logging back in is a stressful time. I'm paranoid until I clear the building and check all the windows. I logged in one time with a guy in the building. I died. Lesson learned.

You have to be more specific about what u need help with.

I like this idea of perks but not carrying anything with you when you die. like other posts have said. No combat perks. solider - run longer and carry more weight(if that's implemented) (loses some stock crafting options) carpenter - open more options for crafting (while taking more damage due to being accident prone) medic - heals others faster (can't hold much weight) farmer - find food easier (subject to more sickness) these are just quick examples but you get the idea. No XP gains by killing anything. I hate point systems. No substantial gains for any perks. Just add to the realism that all players and real people are not the same and some are able to help in other ways. Kind of like the G.O.A.T in fallout3 but nit a questionnaire.

That another player has to administer. :-o

1 suggestion, 1 question, regarding clothes and hive controlled loots
cruiseashimself replied to majortickles's topic in Suggestions
Its not a bad idea honestly. I also would like to not look like I just came out of a war in all my tactical gear but still somehow carry more than what fits in a check shirt and pants. although I don't think its realistic to carry a can of peaches in the breast pocket of your shirt. Ha -
Honestly, like the op I'm from console gaming. I used to play duke nukem and unreal wayyyy back in the day. I found consoles much easier than PC due to that fact you don't have to worry about hardware. My buddy got me to download bf4 and was hooked. Its so much better. Graphically and even the controls. I do use a Xbox controller for PC racing games don't get me wrong I like the controller style playing but playing a fps is keyboard and mouse all the way. Also getting a good gaming keyboard and mouse only makes it that much better. Now I'm still working on making stand/crouch/prone a guilt motion, its very robotic to me right now.

Lockable and breakable doors and windows
cruiseashimself replied to super_shadow's topic in Suggestions
Yes, def being able to pick the locks or something of the sort is a must. Nothing can be 100% safe. What do you mean by ghosting?
