I ran game before with 4gt ram, no problems. But still, laptops are generally not made for gaming - Im not expert on laptop specs so I dont really know if you meet system requirements. Rendering is huge fps eater in this game, make sure you have disabled all of your rendering options. Turn steam-in-game thing off, it have been causing fps problems for some ppl. You can also turn your view distance down.

Do you mean you cant find servers? If so First I would check your filter - there is that ping filter. Have you tried to put that for example to 500? Next you should check what version of dayz you are running. I had that problem also but it fixed by simply reinstalling the game. Not sure if you can fix it another way.

If you dont have that powerful computer you can try to turn all setting to high to minimize your fps and then just jump and run around walls - works for me. If you cant get low fps you should try other surmav`s fix. If neither of those works try servers that reset your character or wait for death to come.

You should be able to run dayz on highest setting - but turn some rendering options down, those are giving some fps trouble no matter what setup you are running. I run dayz as normal but I have disabled all renderings - And you have much better setup than I do. (You can see it in my profile) -

Yeah I only play on regular servers and I made sure its regular. I also know the tips to regain your character - wait for servers to load, dont move and just exit, etc,
