Its the pipe between the DB and the arma/dayz server that causes lag/load if you put the db on one ssd and the server on a other so they can use their own bus you should be good. Currently the lag in dayz is mostly in servers talking to the master DB server due to them not residing on the same server/network i think. You can do some optimalisation db query wise but its not a topic i want to get into at 04:00 in the morning ;)

Yes it can.... the arma/dayz server itself takes very little processing power. The only lag i see on my server is comming from the SQL server loading in players.

I'm not saying DayZ is _only_ a PVP game, I'm saying the _core_ of DayZ gameplay is PVP, slight differance. You gear up to fight people, you build a base to defend against people, to store loot so it can't be stolen by people, you get vehicles to drive around the map with some protection from people. Zombies don't pose a threat in any of these statements. Even as a fresh spawn your at a greater risk of being shot by a player then dieing to a zombie. Zombies are a after thought, the side dish, the flavoring, nothing more. Non of us look at the airport and factor in zombies when you think about risks, you think about hostile players. People are the real threat in DayZ, not the zombies, not the enviroment, not hunger or thirst, people...

Because the core gameplay of DayZ is PVP not PVE it never was and never will be a PVE game.

I hate to break it to you but combat logging doesnt work you stay in game for at least 30 seconds after you've logged out which is plenty of time to kill you.

Clearly your the one with issues. This is a game, get it, a game. assuming that people who KoS act like that in real life and sugesting that they have some mental issue is just plain over the top. DayZ is a sandbox that means you can do whatever you feel like doing, if thats killing on sight then that is perfectly legit gameplay regardless of wheter or not you agree with it. But comparing it to what would happen in real life and labeling those people as psychos just shows how misguided you are. Then why are you here crying about it.
