Hey i took a break from the game for the last month + because i wanted this loot scenario to be fixed. i take it as of today its not fixed yet?

I too looting the military barracks get anxiety. Died once when i watched for a while to make sure noone was around. 15 or so minutes. i guess someone spawned inside the barrack, i ran in and got shot in the face, didnt have my weapon out, foolish. Other time i ran in and got killed by someone who was prone, KOS me, i think he was camping it out just killing server hoppers and others looting the barracks. But what you said about stuff in backpacks. I assume im not the only one that does this either but i will fill up the bags with the crap in hopes of finding good items under them. which in case has happened a few times, finding drum mags, pristine scopes, and pristine hardware. The base by vybor has been insane with guns. There will be 50+ ak's sks's and hunting rifles. hand guns too. but rarely a mag or ammo. i assume thats always looted.

I kind of compare this to wow such that, when I played during vanilla there were always towns to raid for pvp and such then when they added new zones xpacs and more content people didn't go to those places anymore. The game is still in alpha and still evolving and even when it does get finished I'm sure if it's successful then there will be more maps/xpacs but as they're constantly adding new content it's going to keep changing. Like others have said. The ship was big months ago. Now people are looking inland for trucks and crash sites. Plus now that the ne airfield was removed hanging out on the east coast isn't as useful or fun. as the game changes so will populated areas kill zones and hang outs. Either you adapt with it or you can sit on the boat and complain.

i've tried a few night servers lately and i noticed with all of them its still very bright, even with no moon. the moon makes them extra bright. and i dont have my gamma cranked up. did they up the ambient gamma during night ?

yes they do. mine came with 3. in his case he's ok. but if youre connecting multiple devices you might need more. An optical drive needs one, if youre running duel drives say for blueray burner or something you need another, each hard drive takes one. I have 4 hard drives and an optical so i needed 2 extras, in my case i just took them out of the old pc. but if i wanted to use that old PC still i would have to get more.

Nooo the power supply comes with a bunch. Might need Sata cables if you don't have any.

i'm not sure the performance difference between i5 and i7 now but i just built a pc last week. some parts i ordered last black friday but others sold out before i could buy them and held off until this black friday to buy them again due to affordability. I've built pc's before for 1500-1700 that didnt perform this well.

Most wells ARE clean water though. Drinking from a pond that has stagnant water gives a much greater risk of bacterial poisoning. That's why they have the water purification tablets. Right now though you don't get sick from water. Once that aspect is implemented then either using the tablets or drinking from a well are your only options. Perhaps they could make Wells more scarce. You really wouldn't find those old crank wells in the city so maybe country only

If by server hop you mean join a server and play there for the duration of my game then yes you're correct. So happens that I loot military installations and nothing else. I see them all the time. What I don't see are drums for the ak and pristine hardware. Seems like a trend in this game is you find a ton of shit you don't need and the stuff you do need you never get. How often I found a fully decked out AKM or ak101 but no magazines

Bumping this to refresh it. Been looking for bipod after coming back to game. Any confirmation if it was taken out? I have yet to find one in game. and both dayzdb loot map and dayztv loot maps are outdated.

i just spawned on southeast coast and ran thru cherno looting some buildings made my way to balota then up to NW AF, only saw 2 zombies. 1 in cherno. other, of course, bugged out when i was in the barrack in NWAF and walked thru wall to hit me. scared the shit outta me. but yeah i've noticed a lot less zombies too

it was a fresh session of dayz so i dont think thats the issue. and i just built this pc and it was doing it on the old one too and this new one. doesnt seem to be pc side, server or hive imo.

So i came back to the game about 2 weeks ago from a few month break. One thing i noticed is some servers take a long time to load into. Googled it and searched forums and found a bunch of mixed responses. So i log into a server today, get stuck at the black "please wait" screen. Usually it sits there from anywhere between 5-60 seconds. Just now it was well over 5 minutes. I actually got up to get a drink and bio and it was still there when i came back down. I pressed escape and it dropped me to server list where i found another local server and joined. When i joined my toon had been wiped. I know for a fact i didnt die when i logged out last which was only about 30 minutes prior and 2, this is the second time its happened to me since i came back. Please tell me im not the only one with this issue and please tell me devs know about it and its being looked into... Its rather annoying playing for hours and collecting items that are becoming more and more rare just to have my toon wiped on a server login bug. I know there was a bug back several months ago that after you got into game there was another black please wait screen that would seldom hang and if you escaped out you would get wiped... this still around?

i just found my first today which is what brought me to the forums. I actually found it in a warehouse, house, shed combo. i've never seen so many pickaxes and batteries in my life. i didnt want to start a new thread since its related but my question is. What truly effects loot spawn on persistence servers. I get that non-persistence was the old way of new loot on server restart. And i love persistence now that, that doesnt effect it and people dont camp out waiting for restarts and server hop looking for gear. But if its not restarts what causes new loot? I'm not talking about these massive caches either. Just loot spawn in general. I read an article on google saying once you enter a zone and you leave it, if its empty for x amount of minutes loot will spawn. but is there truth to that?
