    No Guns

I love running around with the security of a Mosin, but it does take away from the survival element, can usually have 200+ 7.62 rounds pretty immediately, and as a result the game is an FPS with some dumb NPC's. I would love to see a mode within this game that you can try to survive without guns... once construction/base building is introduced, imagine trying to survive without a gun, at best you might be able to build a lethal bow/arrows, a spear using a knife/duct tape and a stick... Would be great to just feel scared in this game, rather then thinking, oh well I died... better make the twenty minute run to Stary/NWAF/Milbase..... etc..

    Amount of loot

I agree that a military base should have alot of weapons but all dependant on the time frame.... if its been 3 years since the out break then they would have been raided to buggery.... but if it were 3 days then the military would still man the base.... think realistically there might be some left, but I know for a fact if I were in the military I wouldn't be going anywhere without going to the base armoury and clearing out as much as my car could carry... and with X number of infantry/personnel on a base... well I think military bases would be stripped within 2/4 weeks of Day Z. You would then have more likelihood of finding firearms at local firearms clubs/police stations/national reservists centres/and ranges... I love running around with the security of a Mosin, but it does take away from the survival element, can usually have 200+ 7.62 rounds pretty immediately, and as a result the game is an FPS with some dumb NPC's.
  3. Need more ability of crafting I think, Most typical weapons in RL are military arms, so depending on the country of origin, seeing as this is Day Z in Cherno/eastern europe, we would see more AK's, H&K variants,

    make zombies more HORRIFYING

Needs to be more of them, and shooting one should spawn between 5-10 within 100m of the shooter for each shot, the basic idea should be, make noise = get fucked by Z!

    Amount of loot

Have played 55 hours so far, can find a gun within 30mins of spawning, if anything they are too easy to find I think... Currently have a 9 hour old character with a mosin and prestin scope, only been anti-sniping, Finding weapons isn't difficult, just got to hit the right buildings, this is more of a foraging game then a survival game at the moment, dont think zombies have killed me once, mostly broken legs and no twigs to make a splint.

    melee items crafting

I think you should be able to do alot with this, Spears, bows, even crossbows, not only that but you could introduce a mechanism to collect old scrap iron/steel to forge weapons and even ammunition, ultimately ammo should run out unless more is being made, using old furnaces, this would be a good way to introduce some camps, if there were only 4/6 furnaces or something on the map, then you would have gangs claiming one as their own, and as gang battles are going to happen anyway it would give clear defensible positions. Would also be cool to have an old weapons factory introduced to the game, but that would be a very dangerous place to go... :)

    Fitness

Some of the ideas will always be beyond what is gpoing to make the game fun, I only ever want this game to be fun, if it is a true life simulation then you wouldnt want to play it because lets face it, how many DMR's or M4's are you going to find when rushing about, (Though I am from UK) Ultimately I think the fitness should just be a feature in that if you carry lots all the time you can sprint for longer or something like that. Its important for players to feel rewarded for their actions, and its better to deter the sniper from sitting on a hill and looting your body because ultimately if they are rewarded then this is just an FPS MMO with some Z-NPC!
  8. this should be a feature in the game but nothing that is too restrictive, its important to have this in the game, but at the same time you dont want to be playing the game for the purpose of having a fit character... I know I dont, but if you drive from town to town all the time and eat nothing but beans that should have affects! You should also be weaker without proper foods, but again it shouldn't subtract from the game being fun, as at the end of the day thats the point, to have fun.. Good topic, hope this gets into the beta or final version.

    Fitness

Just wanted to start a post to discuss fitness/strength/Stamina/Endurance. So I think in game your fitness should play a part, if you are a marathon runner and run 10-15k each day from one place to the next then you should be fitter then the sniper who lays in the bush all day before retreating 500m to his base, equally if you carry alot each day you should be stronger then someone who chooses to carry not much leaving more in their base (once base building comes into it) I would like to see a visual difference, someone who carries alot and runs all the time will look like a Marine or something, where are someone who doesnt maybe looks more podgy, runs slower.... etc.

    hygiene

Another thing that most people don't know, is human Urine will repel most wild animals, the scent of it is something they fear, so urinating around your camp at night should keep the wild animals at bay, though i dont think Zed should care about this...

    hygiene

This is very important for survival, if you spend all day running about 10-15k then you will get sweaty, if you dont wash you will get sores, your feet will get "trench foot" there is so much to consider with this, if you dont stay clean and dry there should be consequences. Having lived off the land for 9 weeks without any contact or supplies, I know that if you get a friction sore on your legs you wont be walking the next day until its healed, unless you have the correct first aid supplies.... And if you dont wash not only do you smell, you are more susceptible to illness. especially if you get cut.

    Simple ideas for better dayz

Being able to craft Charcoal from sticks and matches, this would allow players to make charcoal to take when poisoned.
