Maybe not every item in every lootspot, but a more randomized table wouldn't be too bad, IMO. That would make it more interesting when checking out both larger and smaller cities, and maybe give people an incentive to loot the, as of now, useless buildings instead of piling up outside the military bases. -

Well, bandits are a part of this game, but god damn do I hate being killed on sight for no good reason. And no, survival isn't one. You don't need other peoples things to survive in this - not yet, anyways =) Oh, and let me help you out a bit. I entered a well-populated 0.45 UK experimental server at around 11:45 in game, "spawning" at the Veresnik hill just south-southwest of the military base. I had found a chopper in the fields to the west the night before. I just took a quick peek to see if a new chopper was there, and then, as it wasn't, continued slowly towards the military base from the south, down the hill. I entered, searched the first barracks, then went straight to the prison keeping alert. As I was inside, various noises started to play (or had they been playing all along?) of ammunition being handled, bushes rustling, and sodas popping. It might be my imagination, but I've had a few encounters after hearing these things, which may just be coincidental, but it got me on my toes anyhow. I closed all the doors behind me, peeking out the windows of the prison and sweating while not seeing a thing. I then pulled myself together, and opened the front doors. BAM! Right in my face is this fucker, slowly moving his head to stare at me, deciding not to run, but just steer of and walk away, after giving me my dose of Day Z heartattack. God damnit! I let him be, and continued further north... 1: 2: Scared the shit (almost) out of me! NB: Sorry 'bout the image quality. My laptop doesn't do better than this =)

Thanks! Yeah, the night before I actually found it and just before making a run for it, two guys turned up, saw me, and started moving towards me. Luckily the AKM took care of it, and I could continue =)

This setup, along with some nice items on the ground, would probably be able to lure in some poor, unsuspecting looter... =)

I completely agree. An algorithm or whatever, a table of chances of items spawning in different locations, would be awesome to implement. As of now you never bother to check out the small houses of the small cities, but this could change things up a bit. Good idea =)

Well, isn't it actually the whole map then? I was under the impression of the map being 15 by 15 km, meaning 21,2 as the furthest distance. Right? Edit: asfgdæohahaæpougahs

I've thought about something along the lines of this as well. It would be nice to be able to quickly trade an item without bringing up a trading screen or whatever. Though it would be nice to be able to put things into a slot between the two players, and able to pick up whatever from the slot in a sort of fictional trading slot-area. If the players then separated, the slot would disappear, and the items revert back to the original owner, or end up on the ground if there's no room. Oh well, something like that.

It would be awesome going out into the forrest hunting flocks of birds with the shotgun and a case of bucks.

I don't mean to sound arrogant, but can't you find out using a map like the one at www.dayzdb.com by using the sun and various points of references? Or just a city sign? =)

Not really anything that bothers me. I've already played the game enough to feel I've got my moneys worth, and will keep on playing. Let the sell even more, earn more, and perhaps create an even better game =) Aha... Well, how can one come into contact with the individual who has this favorable offer?

I'm not sure, but can this relate to the files of your DayZ folder in "My Documents" being write-protected as in read-only files? Just an idea. -
I've been having a lot of trouble with this as well. So is it possible to remap the keys? Will be trying later tonight, anyways =)

What items that currently spawn are considered "Rare loot" atm

I think people consider the Long Range Scope rare, still, though it's less rare lately IMO. It's just very useful, and a lot of people want it. I feel the red dot for the FNX is one of the rare items I rarely happen upon, and it's not working properly yet either (playing HC). Other than that, I don't really know =) -
This sounded like a beginning of an old fairytale. First, 1 zombie, then 2, then I expected 3 ;) I've seen zombies beating dead air, but never anything like this.
