My butt says you have a point there. ;) -

Besides your very detailed information (thanks for that) this is a rather polemic way to discuss... I just heared about dozends of pigs that died inside their stable of hypothermia somewhere in austria. Thats the base of my assumptions, not my butt. <_< -

I don't think domestic pigs would make it past the first winter in northern hemisphere. The temperatures in moderate climate regions go down to -25°C (-13°F) and these pigs are naked (besides a few bristles). -
As a developer you simpli can't win. If you are trying to round up features people start to complain about lazy millionaires. So they decide to push something out in a premature development state and !surprise! it breaks something else... Now people start to complain about this worst update ever. I think they should push updates more frequently to experimental and only once a month to stable if there are no game breaking issues. But this is just my opinion.

After some instant kills from stairs, 1st floors and broken legs from crossing a bridge in the last experimental my char was used as a punching ball by some chuck norris zeds. I managed to crouch to the hospital in berenzino while looking like a fountain. When I arrived there an other player (thanks oberon) tried to give me morphin and a patch. I had an axe and a backpack with food and weapons that he could have easily taken from me but he didn't. So I think not everyone in game is hostile.

If you know as much about trolls as about software development I take this one as a compliment :P . But seriously - I'm not trying to troll anyone (except those who deserve it) . It just makes me sad to see every thread become a spittoon for everyones opinion after 5 pages . There are too many people that register, write their #1 post "dump game doewsnt work, fix that damnit, paied money, you owe me something ugh!". If beeing frustrated about this and giving cynical answers is trolling - well I guess I'm a troll then.

You could post a dxdiag and a bugreport to their mantis bugtracker, so they can see if this has something to do with your config.

Well hi there. I suppose you did not search this forum for posts complaining about development speed? If you had, you would have noticed that the answer to this posts was always: Instant cash doesn't accelerate development of code (much). This is because new developers (if hired) need to get used to the existing code base. And existing ones do not type faster. So please stop making assumptions about things you (obviously) do not now anything about.

I knew I should have left this second sentence... :P. But nevermind. Lets play some rounds of login-bingo.
-
Do I want to know the source of your insights? Sorry - it just came over me B)...
-
My post was meant to be kinda sarcastic  but I'm not so certain about yours... If someone is REALLY REALLY desperate about getting informed on changes - I saw an RSS feed button at the bottom of this page. But beware, its cloaked!
-
Are they wasting your precious time? You could leave your phone number so Dean or Captain Fancy Pants can inform you about development progress. But seriously - if there's a new stable the devs will be happy to present the full list of features and changes to you right here in this section of the forum :D
-
But you don't know their sources, do you? As a dev I know how hard it can be to implement new features into grown code without breaking things...(Especially if its not your own and you just inherited it from someone else)

I kinda like sprinting zeds that can take more than one axe hit. They force people to think before they shoot. When their pathfinding and recognition level and spawning is finished they will be challenging opponents indeed. Its just my oppinion, but I think they should hit you harder. Atm it takes 5 of them about a minute to take you down as a fresh spawn. Edit: @metapolic -> faster than me... typing on this tab takes hours :P
-
Wouldn't say that just because they made improvements to the usebility. As I understand it will be later modified depending on the weapon/item you carry. Just a thought about convenience: I'd like to see shoes to wear out in one of the next updates. That would give them an entirely new value ;) .

Don't let the door kill you on your way out. Bye!
-
Thats really a nice list (no sarcasm), but I tought about trowing a walkie-talkie at players to panic them and as a attraction for zombies :P .
-
I already thought about a walkie-grenade... :D
-
Yesterday I ran straight into a zombie that stood in the middle of the forest without it recognizing me. Half an hour later one spawned 5 meters behind me (in the forest) and attacked immediately. I'm really looking forward the new AI.
-
KOS is boring. You can have much more fun trolling geared players that feel too safe. Story: Me and a pal were observing and looting Gorka when 3 geared Players ran past me without recognizing (I was the one observing). Then they started clowning around in the middle of the street, ate some bacon (very tactical) and rolled around on the ground. We could have easily killed all of them, but we decided to fire some very loud shoots over their heads. They ran around like headless chickens and fled to the old fields shooting like crazy at the zombies we attracted.

It was also called "agricultural production cooperative" in former GDR.
-
Must have missed that one?! I didn't know a mesh needs special treatment for collision detection and line of sight stuff...
-
As stated earlier in this thread, buildings, rocks and trees do not exist for zeds. So I guess this will change with the new AI for them, because they need to be "told" where they can see you and walk (line of sight/pathfinding algorithms of the AI)... No new AI -> Zeds bite your butt trough the wall :P So you have to wait for news from Bratislava.

The general speed and agression of the zombies are OK. But their detection radius of felt 3km and running speed of 40km/h when they are next to you are ludicrously. My average survival time at the coast was about 10 minutes ;) ...
