Admin Warning for using group chat (Exp 0.47)
Agilov replied to GrrArrgh's topic in General Discussion
Finally! The "shut up" key. But I think f9 will do the job too  (along with f7 for use in groups) -
Hi there! Now that the navigation mesh is in and rocket told us parallelization is WIP, I've asked myself how the new zombie AI could look like that will be implemented soon?! Back in the 90s we experimented with a multi-agent software called starlogo, where you could simulate complex swarm behaviour with a relatively simpel program running on each agent. The parallelization approach is sheerly crying for an agent system, isn't it? There is an technology called "steering behaviours", which is an further development of the socalled "boids" model introduced by Craig Reynolds in the 80s. The goal of this model is to simulate the movements of swarms of birds or fish in a very reallistic manner. Would be great to see this on zombies. :) I'd love the picture of a swarm like horde surging arround obstacles or climbing over them if low enough. What do you think? Will we get somethink like I hope for or an completely different approach? Locking forward your suggestions! I think they leave this for the modders.

The challenge and saga of Zombie Pathfinding
Agilov replied to SmashT's topic in News & Announcements
Well atm big changes are made to the core of the engine that cannot be be commited step by step. Theres also much time getting lost for changes concerning the theft of the source code. If someone finds a way to build a new 2.2 million computer botnet this wouldn't be funny, would it?If you take a break from the game for one or two months I'm shure there will be some progress for you to see ;) -
So everyone in the same session with you sees this glitch too? Otherwise you could hide "inside" the pillars an shoot from there.

No. You have no idea what you are talking about. Stop spitting around insultions. You are clearly too lazy to read the information given by the devs. You'll have problems to be taken seriously if you ragepost for no reason. Has anyone done harm to you? No? Then calm down and don't try to troll around like many others. -
I meant the instrument :)

On first glance i read balalaika... But balaclavas are cool too ;)

First things first. The new AI will come AFTER the navmesh is ingame, which means they simply cant walk trough walls because they are not in the mesh. Swarm intelligence doesn't mean individuals are "smarter". It just means you can have a swarm act like one intelligent being. The whole behaviour of the horde could be completely changed by altering a few parameters of the algorithm running on each zombie.

Is there an ACTUAL friendly server? Or does anyone...
Agilov replied to UltimateGentleman's topic in General Discussion
Thats why my mic is always on. (Just spammed my private chatter over the server yesterday without noticing it  - silly me) -
What's the current hacking status like in DayZ:SA?
Agilov replied to RadikulRAM's topic in General Discussion
Maybe I'm playing on the wrong/right servers, but in all the time playing SA I was only once killed by an invisible cheater. Stairs are doing a much better job for me. Or ship wrecks. Or upper floors. -

How can you ever get an inventory like this guy without cheating?! This two folks are so lame. Nothing but 3rd person corner pecking and wall leaning the whole time. -
How about козловка? The town of goats! :P

Thumbs up! Thats the most interesting development post for months. Especially the part about the navmesh-creation. Worked on something similar in the past. Rockets right - the results are beautiful :) ! I'm looking forward the next one. -
Are you trying to disenchant me? It's the constant fear, any random designer could easily do your job, that keeps us programmers make overtime  ...

Who needs cars anyway? ;)

Logged out in the middle of the forrest at the west end of Svetlo. Logged in after the patch containing "new rock formations". Found them immediately because of standing on the only ledge in the middle of a new steep face...

Features will come more frequently when the big issues are solved. The more efford you put into basic technology the easier it gets afterwards.

Congrats! Thats a nice number for four months. <sarcasm>I payed 25€ for this and therefore you have to kiss my feet! Forever. And H1Z1 will eat you all if your "alpha" is not bug free till tomorrow. You could hire 500 new devs to get this job done yesterday.</sarcasm> I think the progress of development is ok. Patches get delayed if somethings wrong with them. Such is life... The fun I had till now was already worth the money I payed. Everything that comes from now on is like a exiting gift. It doesn't hurt me if I get no update for one month and I'm happy if the one I get is a good one. Seriously - nothing depends on wether you get your fireplace tomorrow or in 3 weeks. Keep up the good work! :)

Nice video you made :). Was at the original location in CZ last weekend. Its quite impressive how they catched the atmosphere of the region.

My butt says you have a point there. ;) -

Besides your very detailed information (thanks for that) this is a rather polemic way to discuss... I just heared about dozends of pigs that died inside their stable of hypothermia somewhere in austria. Thats the base of my assumptions, not my butt. <_< -

I don't think domestic pigs would make it past the first winter in northern hemisphere. The temperatures in moderate climate regions go down to -25°C (-13°F) and these pigs are naked (besides a few bristles). -
I knew I should have left this second sentence... :P. But nevermind. Lets play some rounds of login-bingo.
