    My 1st time in Dayz

    Most dayz players seems to have an abnormal high tolerance to frustation. Myself included. I wonder if it requires professional assistance.
  2. Just in Dayz ppl would KOS. I real life, most ppl would band together, since survival chances increases a lot. someone here posted that 1st priority is a gun. I believe the 1st priority in reality would be potable water. It is impressive how fast water goes.

    It is very hard to understand the mind of ppl here. Most want a very delayed Deathmatch, where new spawns are in desesperate need of gear and are easy prey, while geared guys have their sick fun. I agree with OP that a goal system is a very NECESSARY condition if Dayz wants to be a game. I realize most don't want another silly RPG, I don't want either, but how in hell is it going to be? A survival simulator?? for what? We will keep our players fed under difficulties for.... (please someone fill objectives here). So we will hunt animals, build fires at monday, and at tuesday we will hunt something with bow and at wednesday we will hunt for beans, and 2 months later we will still doing it? Without proper objectives, this game will die. It will always have a small community, but that's it. Today new players are joining for the POTENTIAL this game has to offer. The overall opinions here are equivalent to the KOS mentality we find in game.

    Hello there, Other day I was thinking about all this lack of objectives in game. Althought Dayz is a realism simulator, it has some fantasy elements (zombies are NOT real), and sooner or later, to keep people entertained, it must add game features. Considering that, I went here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Seven_Basic_Plots and I figured some ideas that could add some fun to the game. 1st: the Curse A player hit by a zombie (or eating infected food, whatever) can acquire a "curse". A countdown would begin, and after some time a massive zombie attack would occur on him (and players around). With this course, he cannot kill himself... only the timer would count some 10s less (whatever). The catch of this "curse" is that if other player kills him, he will now be the owner of the curse. And the timer would not reset. I believe that some mechanisms should also be added, like impossibility to use ladders. Since he cannot die from falls, there is only one natural direction for the owner of the curse... the ground. But it is details. 2nd: Generator startup A building can have a generator (or a strange beacon), which after some time would spawn very good pristine stuff. The amount and "quality" of these items would depend on quantity of players in this area and etc. Of course, zombie waves would start and increase with time. Some decision making would be necessary, or players will die drowned in this tide of dead. Of course, compensatory mechanisms for coward log outs should exist, like loosing the collected loot as if this action never existed. Or something else, whatever. I hope this can start a fun discussion here!

    Thank you all for the kind replies. Indeed, it is a bit unfair of me to judge the game in early alpha... I got it all wrong. I think I will give a break for now, and when new stuff is around I'll play and try to post more positive feedback. Tks!

    Hello there, After playing this game 24h, I feel a bit confused. Disconsidering the 10 first times I got killed, for stupid things like falling etc, basically in last 200 times I die suddently with someone shooting me from nowhere for no reason and ending everything I made in the last minutes. And in 24h, I never found a fully working silenced m16 like everybody else seems to find. I think if the only point of this game is to find a gun and shoot each other, why in hell are these guns not spread everywhere? We should have a fully loaded revolver when starting, non lootable. Then everybody can go cowboy and live in fire fights. At least would be a good quick fix while there is no decent content available.
