Never go there. Never.

A geared player, in most cases, will always have a pair of sunglasses (have you not read the whole topic?). Anyhow, KOSers in possession of any sort of weaponry will never come anywhere near you, they will simply shoot you. So I don't really see your point mate.. :S

A simple acoustic one would be fine in my opinion. But I'm not sure about the system your proposing. There's a lot more to music than the chords you play. What I'm trying to say is that your system is really limiting the possibilities and the songs that can be made with it. What they could do is add a certain amount of songs to the game, and when you activate the guitar it plays a random one, but for it to play, you need to press specific keys when it is said for you to press them, not necessarily like in Guitar Hero, but a similar concept. This would allow to have actual nice songs and involve player interaction.

Lose the bold, could barely read anything from your text. -
What a lousy excuse to hide the fact you just killed them for the heck of it.

Radiation in my opinion would be a great feature in the game. It would add something else other than hunger and thirst that you would need to take care of, thus enriching the gameplay experience. They could either add a nuclear powerplant in the northern cities they are currently implementing (those closer to the border of Russia. It would make sense, if they make those city a bit more urban and everything, to find some outdated nuclear powerplant similar to the one in Chernobyl or in Sosnovy Bor). It would have to cover a big enough zone though, require you to have special outfits and equipment to travel there, and maybe even add mutants to make it more difficult to survive out there (I do see it becomes kind of a rip off from Stalker...). If people don't like the powerplant idea, the nukes is also an option (remember when in Arma II an ICBM was sent on Chernarus and your helicopter crashed? Where did all that go?). If it didn't come from the war fought in Arma II, the nukes could at least be seen as a last hope to eradicate the virus threat. You have my beans!

hints of movement/ hints of people having been around a certain area

I do like the idea of people leaving evidence of their presence, but I can't help but wonder how the game servers will be able to handle so many of such things. -
Brilliant!

What if it is unseen..? You know, those steps you seem to hear right at your back, only to find nothing but fog, the breathing, the noises that come up to you from afar and haunt you, the silhouettes you seem to see by some trees only to find out it's some crooked dead shrub. What if the only thing that is stalking you is your own mind, or maybe the mountain itself and the shadow of it's dead radio broadcast tower...? To add some ideas, we could put some transmission that can be heard by anyone with a walkie-talkie. It could be a bunch of weird noises playing on loop, maybe some satanic incomprehensible monologue barely audible in static and what not or simply the one that was supposed to be heard in the mod, saying "We are no longer alive! The subject could not be contained!" and "This message will be played automatically if station is unattended", with the coordinates for the deer stands playing afterwards.

They could make it hard to be there, so that only geared up people might consider the challenge, no matter what there is to be found by the tower and its woods.

I'm not really saying to make it unnatural, simply to creep it up a little. Just so people won't like going there or nearby. My ideas were just that : ideas. I do agree with your will of sticking with realism and the lack of it in my ideas. What would you have in mind instead?

Global objectives that would give a purpose in surviving
VonHabdekeiten posted a topic in Suggestions
I've seen a couple people talk about it in the General section and thought it would be one hell of an idea to put into the game. Simple global tasks (there is no obligation in doing them or maybe not even indication about the possibility of doing them) that would require several people in order to accomplish them. Accomplishing them would have an impact on the whole territory and unlock certain possibilities, features and such. Things like restoring electricity, restoring Radio communications, maybe even liberating cities and establishing (this is a heck of a long shot) security perimeters around them (enabling maybe things like guards, traders, governors and what not (either NPCs or players, but at least allow a basic trading system between players)), etc. Basically, all I'm talking about is giving a purpose to people in game, so that they have something really hard to do but that would at least occupy them for a time and have its bonuses, so that they can look down at the end over all they've accomplished together and be proud of themselves. Something that would unite people. I know it's something way too complex for the moment and if it is considered (fully or partly), it would be after the official release of the game, but I simply wanted to put it out here, in the suggestions. What do you guys think? (picture related) -

Global objectives that would give a purpose in surviving

Interesting set of things that could be done! Would be nice indeed to see those. As for the NPCs, I had in mind the DayZ Epoch kind of gameplay, but you're right though, it does diverge from what DayZ essentially is about. -
Global objectives that would give a purpose in surviving
VonHabdekeiten replied to VonHabdekeiten's topic in Suggestions
New challenges can easily be implanted once certain goals are achieved. From simple maintenance to constant raids from hordes and even small daily tasks in order to have the townsfolk survive (if we consider putting in NPCs as townsfolk among player characters). Maybe even put in a faction system (different towns with each their own faction, or a group of towns under one banner) that would allow competition between groups and no boredom since there is always a threat gazing upon you (from attacks to sabotage and so on) ! -
Maybe even have them locked so you would have to go look around the base to find keys
-
Interesting idea, since it does indeed feel unrealistic to have all the doors closed for every building. I actually use doors as a sign to others that there might be someone in there and scare them away, but having it randomized would have to keep you on alert each time you approach a building! Great suggestion!

Global objectives that would give a purpose in surviving
VonHabdekeiten replied to VonHabdekeiten's topic in Suggestions
Thanks for the answer! But what I had in mind was not something like you would see in most FPS games where there's a set of objectives you have to accomplish and can't diverge from them. I meant more something like things that are out there and that can be done, but there's no obligation to actually do them. There is no indication of anything you have to do, no objectives's panel in the top left corner of your screen. They're just there and if you actually want to, you can go and do them. Alone might be really hard since there would be a lot of little tasks to do in order to accomplish the global one, but it would be easier with a group of people and so on.
