    Suggestion - Map Markers

"DayZ Standalone Guides This page covers the Standalone version of DayZ. For information on the Mod see Mod:Guides & Tutorials Using Markers on the map You can mark various things on the in-game map. To add a marker simply double click on the map when the map is fullscreen. A marker will show where you clicked. You can change it's color by pressing SHIFT-UP/DOWN. You can also use Icons on the map by pressing ALT-UP/DOWN which will cycle to all the possible icons. Deleting a marker can be done by pointing to it with your mouse and then pressing DELETE. The markers will be visible to all the players in this channel."

    Suggestion - Map Markers

It already exists. The devs will probably make it so that the markers aren't in common anymore but instead are specific to the map so that f you find somebody's map, you'll have their markers.

    Finding Clues

This is a great idea. Since the game is server based, there isn't one spawn zone so you can't go through a story phase or anything. Its always much nicer to discover on your own. The dead girl thing can't be done though. Ever noticed you never see dead children in any game although bodies are piled up on the floor? In major games there is usually no reference to children and when there are it is quiet implicit. You often see children's drawings or things like that but their disappearance is a mystery. Finally in the games where they are present, they cannot be killed. Its considered immoral to show or allow things like this. The steam trailer of the game was censored just for the suicide at the end.
  5. Of course it would be something like this. It would only be safe in the fact you cleared out all the zombies and they shouldn't be able to spawn right back in the middle of town. The lighting would of course attract a few each night and groups of bandits would certainly be happy to snipe some players down and then go in for a raid that would get them some precious loot. Radio towers and taking control of them are indeed a planned feature and it will be intresting to see players fight over it to broadcast their messages. Around the safe area there might be a feud between the bandits trying to sound like the townsfolk to draw players in a trap, and the player "townsfolk" warning the players of the bandits and offering food and shelter at the town. Of course, maintaining a balance is extremely difficult and will probably ruin everything but it's worth a try in beta to ajust things to the previously unforeseen
  6. It's a sound idea. There should be a safe haven village whether it be through this way or by making different servers for different time-frames (evacuation, fall of the humanity, recovery being the last one where a safe haven would be established). Getting power back on is nice as well. If split up into smaller ranged actions, they could all slowly lead to creating the safe haven, which would be the main goal. The problem resides in the fact that there isn't much of an realistic explanation (realistic being the key goal of this game (apart from the zombie apocalypse, we are looking at game mechanisms)) as to what would make it so much harder to achieve and what would continually hinder their efforts. Goals would be achieved once with a well prepared expedition and would leave you disappointed once you made game easier. All this has to be overcome

    Handcuffing people to something

Looks nice but particularly hard to implement a feature like this and make it work correctly. There would be too much work on the player skeleton, on the different levels of freedom of movement depending on where he is attached. If dangling or in motion, player can't move and would be transformed into ragdoll. The whole thing could be replaced by animations like the one already existing but places you can handcuff would be very restricted and player interaction would be close to none... so on and so forth. Just way too hard to make it work nicely and not be gliched out as hell to actually be worth the effort. Shame...

Replace "Hands" with two Hand slots

That was my first reaction but it doesn't actually take two hands to hold, it takes two to open/use. So for this reason, you can have a can, or a medical kit in your right hand and a gun in your left. you won't be able to do anything with it until you activate it, at which point your character puts away his gun and now has his two hands free to do whatever action he is attempting.

    Filling gaps

With the black background, I thought it would be more comfortable if a little lighter, but here, I changed it back to black, unless you wish to see it in another color?

Also, it might be worth mentionning, that considering the low level crafting, all objects crafted can also be disassembled to get materials back (at a price, objects will be worn) This should be dealt with carefully since it musn't be used to cheat but mainly to get an object that you really need straight away. Being able to disassemble a tent can allow you retreive rags that can be used to stop your bleeding (being alive and tent-less is better than being dead beside your lovely tent). Of course, some exceptions may be found that would only allow the reteival of part of the components and sometimes even this isn't possible but there should at leat be a "destroy" option so that you can avoid leaving behind the stuff you crafted with your sweat and hard work.
